Phayamas Private Beach Resort

Read the highly rated reviews as, in my opinion, they are more representative of this resort. When reading the average and terrible reviews of the resort, I have to wonder if they literally stayed at a different place. Anyway, beautiful grounds, classy bungalows, and incredibly helpful and kind staff. The prices are a touch high, but it's an island and they're not outrageous by any means. True there is no TV or bar fridge, but that's not a deal breaker. The included breakfast was varied and delicious. Great place, check it out!

We were 13 people visiting Koh Phayam island. The stay was an absolute paradise, food is amazing. If you are afraid of bugs, this place can get u in trouble. there are Beatles that show up during evening (its was their throughout our stay during the evenings) may be because it was raining. The place had everything that we had but few things can be improved as part of the amenities, for example, rooms lacked a kettle. Over all a fantastic place and beautiful island. surely recommend this place.

This is resort has private villas, loads of comfort, a swimming pool and very peaceful. Staff is really friendly and helpful they were great! One of the best places to stay in Koh Phayam. The private beach is not great at all, looks like a garden. In general for great beaches you need to head west and south west which were only 5-10 minutes on the bike! Internet in the room far from reception it's not so good. The hot shower, it's too hot!

I dont often return to a place, but made an exception for this place, the owner, Katie, has a buzzing vibe that keeps the hole place slick, since our last visit, where we were the first ever guests, she has added a beautiful pool, hot water showers in the amazing accomodation, and eased access to the private beach. I read with interest the review giving one star here and can only imagine anyone giving this place one star is suffering from hallucinogenic syphallis.

I thoroughly enjoyed my five night stay here. This resort is owned and run by Katie and her Thai husband. The individual bungalows are sizeable, with comfortable beds, high quality sheets and pillows and decent soft towels. It was good to be able to read in bed with great overhead lighting. A-C was modern & powerful. There is adequate space for everything in the room and the sizeable bathroom has lots of room to lay everything out from one’s toiletry bag. And the shower was certainly one of the hottest, if you want that, I have enjoyed in Thailand. In fact there was a choice of two, one outside but of course private. The buffet breakfast is decent with young friendly staff making sure you have enough of everything. The restaurant overlooks the sea with a slope down to the beach which is almost private because there are no other resorts adjacent. Katie even arranged a better price speedboat from Ranong which took only 40 minutes to get to the island. My only disappointment was that the day after I left she emailed me to say that the catch of the day was King Mackerel, my favourite! It’s my plan to go back again within the next 12 months, and also to enjoy a wonderful island. Tim P

The Phayamas PB Resort is a fine resort with new well kept bungalows. All rooms have fans and no air-con as a standard feature. If you want AC you have to pay around 25 dollars extra per night. The resort has a small but nice swimming pool and dining area. The restaurant is very pricy though. The beach offers nice views but not suitable for swimming because of the sharp rocks.

My heart sank on arrival. Our bungalow was next to the generator, the bar/reception clinical, the pool tiny, the beach grey and uninviting. In fact the whole resort seemed devoid of vitality or charm. The bungalow was pleasant enough, but with no ceiling fan and no fridge (horror). That evening we walked 30 mins west, to the west side of the island, in order to look for life, and find somewhere to dine and drink. We found a couple of cool places and then decided to return to our resort for 2 or 3 more drinks; we arrived at the resort bar at precisely 9pm and it was completely shut down. Unbelievable! I had lunch at the resort soon after my arrival and I enjoyed my veggie green curry so much that I ordered the same dish the next day; this time the curry was the worst I've ever tasted - half the ingredients were different and the rice old and lumpen. So I guess one chef can cook and another one cannot.. All staff (especially the receptionist) were perfectly pleasant and helpful and the accommodation was clean and well-proportioned. The resort was neat and tidy. However, I cannot recomment you stay here if, like me, you prefer to stay somewhere with some life and beauty. For that, I suggest you head to the west of Koh Phayama.

Had 4 nights with my girlfriend im bungalow no. 9. The place was very quiet and clean, the staff was very friendly. One thing I did not like: the breakfast! Everyday it was diferent and when I ordered scrambled eggs I had to pay additional. Also the laundry was very expensive compared to the laundry at the street.

Nice and friendly staff, helpful with every need. Free transfer from Pier to resort! Help with speedboat booking (cheaper), help with renting a motor bike. Additional possibilities: washing laundry! Nice and big rooms, if needed you can book additional an air conditioning per day/night! Good with kids, nice and clean pool! Beautiful garden an view to sea! Small cozy beach, better to rent a bike and have a look for all other beaches! Katie is very well in English as well as her staff! They are amazing with kids and have a big heart! We will come back!

The bungalow was modern, spacious, comfortable and clean. We had two showers, one indoor and one outdoor. The balcony has a nice hammock which we very much enjoyed. The ressort is located in a very tranquil part of the island. The beach is not nice at all, dirty and the water smells bad and there is a lot of trash in it. But there are many beautiful beaches on Koh Phayam, and since we rented a Scooter anyway, that wasn't an issue. The staff is super friendly, yet the food (breakfast, snacks and diner) unfortunately wasn't fine, but you can go to any restaurant in Koh Phayam and enjoy the nicest food.
