Really nice place, room comfortable and close to the beach. There was a really good hospitality, the staff is so kind! Breakfast is good and the resort isreally close to the Pier. I recommend this place. Thanks a lot Nitiporn resort!
Arrived at the pier in Ranong we had to carry our bags on the dirt road. We had to pay on arrival because they could not pay online. The road leading to the bungalow is full of strenuous pebbles for those with large suitcases. The room was without air conditioning, there was no hair dryer, kettle and fridge, the bathroom had bad smells, and the shower did not have hot water. There was no sheet or blanket and it was cold in the evening. Next to the bungalow there is a cafeteria that every morning at 6 am puts high music. The sea is polluted and always pulls wind. The scooter service is charged and the scooters are broken and small. One day a band came to play until late at night and we wanted to sleep. There are always groups and if you want to stay a while in the pool or at the cafe it's impossible because they take up everything. The bike service is free but only 3. The wi-fi is a bit slow.
Made reservation for one night on the agoda. But turns out a good deal went out into a bad deal as they didn't have air conditioning as described. Also the room was situated outside the vaccinity of the hotel compound. Turns out we were at the edge of the forest where there are construction workers lurking around day and night. There were no toiletries provided as described.
The resort located near the port, makes it easy to reach. Price is reasonable with the beachfront view and relaxing atmosphere in common area. The room I got is decorated in loft style. You can spend many nights there.
Great personnel. Rented me her own scooter which is better than using passport as security. Bungalows with no ac is very hot. Transfer to ones with. Much more modern. Big TVs. Quite noisey if neighbours up late or early. I used earplugs.
This is really nice resort close to the pier in Koh phayam. The bongalows are clean and spacious, the stuff is very friendly and the food in the restaurant is one of the best we had at Island. I recomend this place.
While we are not experienced world travelers by any means, we have now traveled to several countries to visit family and on church mission trips. So...I find that I must preface my review with this advice: all of you who are used to USA accommodations and amenities must try to erase your preconceived ideas of "excellence" in order to enjoy visits to many other cultures in our world. These are some of those notions that get in the way of US residents' ability to appreciate the services offered in other countries: 1) soft, pillow-top mattresses - in almost all of the countries we have visited mattresses are very hard, I mean very, very hard. I have found that, once you get used to them, sleeping is good. Oh, and a lot of cultures don't use top sheets; so, bring your own, if you can't get along without them. 2) Food is not going to be served with the speed of McDonalds' fast-food service. Often, it is prepared fresh upon the individual order and then served as soon as it's put on the plate, meaning some people in your party will get their food before others, but fresh and hot. 3) Amenities that you are expecting to get just aren't important in other cultures, so get off of your "high-horse" and learn to sit back and enjoying experiencing other cultures. After all, you are in their home cultures, not your own. If you choose to keep your limited focus, you might as well stay at a fenced-in, all-inclusive resort that caters to the "discriminating" (aka "critical") guest. Now I will offer my review. We found our cute little hut clean and equipped with a floor fan, screen-less windows that opened and closed, but couldn't close enough to lock., and a private bathroom with a shower head right next to the toilet. It was warm enough that we really needed to leave the windows open when we were out and about (who stays in their room much when they are at the beach). We soon found that we could turn the fan at the bathroom entrance to dry out the bathroom floor. We left the windows open during our entire visit and nothing was taken. The fan was also left on during our visit, and we slept very comfortably. By the way, our room wasn't cleaned during our visit; but as I later learned, we could have asked for that. That was fine; we are the people who choose to hang the card on our door knob that says, "no service needed". Communication was tricky, as Thai people don't have nearly the command of English that people in some tourism industry jobs do. Find the person who does speak English to help you, or go with the flow. Since reservations were handled by another family member who was in a family-sized hut on the other side of the "road", I didn't know who to go to on our last night's stay when the guests across from us decided to party too much after midnight. It hadn't been a problem the other nights. My husband snored through it, so I guess it wasn't that loud. I would stay at Nitiporn again, if we ever have the opportunity; or, as we were told by several others, spread the wealth and try a different place each time - there are quite a few choices on this small island - the beaches are wonderful and not crowded at this time of year, anyway.
For the general aspect, I'd say that this resort opened before it was finished. Everything looks nice but it misses some things : one window missing in the bathroom, bathroom door didn't close, shower not fixed on the wall... We stayed in a bungalow for 3 nights. Pros : very nice look, nice balcony, cable tv, fridge, toiletry, bottled water, kettle, good towels. Cons : water comes out yellow, no wifi in room, no tea/coffee, hard bed. Staff is nice but not really helpful. Although they dropped us at the pier as we we're leaving the island.
We stayed 7 nights at Nitiporn Resort and we loved this place. Momma took care of us like no where else. There's no safe in the room but I got to tell you we weren't worried about it. We left cloths, shoes (of course) books, cameras, phones, laying around our front porch and nothing was ever touched. The grounds are clean and beautiful. The beach was awesome. We kayaked (free) and body surfed. If you need an ice chest to get your beer cold, momma loans you one. If you want to turn the music up a little, no problem. The girls in the kitchen are awesome. The office girl was very helpful and we needed to head home, momma's got a fast boat to Ranong. She charges less than in town at the pier. My only complaint would have to be that my bed was a little hard. There was a fan (24 hour electric) and a mosquito net that we never needed because this is the breezy side of the island. The room was very spacious and clean and the bathroom was also plenty big and clean. We would leave during the day and leave our windows wide open (for the breeze) and nothing was ever taken. So if you want basic, clean with beautiful grounds and a wonderful staff, stay with momma at The Nitiporn Resort! PS momma also has newer rooms, very nice with AC & TV in the back of the resort. We enjoyed basic on the beach! Wifi was good too!
We pre booked these bungalows before our arrival to the island as we had no idea of what the accommodation was like on the island. The bungalows are situated on the east side of the island and no more then a 10 min walk from the pier (next to blue sky resort) Straight away we was greeted by Mama P who is a lovely welcoming lady. She took us to our room which was A1 which is a standard bungalow with fan. The room is large with a large double bed. The bed is firm. The bathroom is a shower wet room and both areas are very clean. The shower was cold but if you wait till the afternoon it is slightly warmer after a day of sunshine. The beach is windy as it's on the east side but the whole island is easly accessed by a scooter. We didn't know but Mama has a scooter to rent so ask her before going into town as she will give you a good price. Am sorry we never asked. Also there was a complication when we was checking out about payment which was 100% my fault. Mama couldn't have been more helpful and I can't thank her enough for resolving the situation.
