We had organised a trip to Sicily via an agent. We thought the hotel was near Modica but actually turned out to be further outside. The first thing that struck us when arriving was that it did not appear to be open. The entrance did not give a welcoming feel behind electric gates and signage that needed to be upgraded. On arrival we were told that there was no restaurant despite their advertising one and our checking before arrival. You need to be aware of this or else you could go hungry. They did recommend a couple of places but all the same travel is needed. The room was compact with fridge and aircon. The shower worked well but the toiletries did not all look fresh, one in particular. There was also insufficient towel hanging space. Breakfast was ok with Sicilian specialities and fresh fruit salad. Crisp croissant and natural yogurt.
The accommodation was billed as a cottage for 4 people. On arrival, we were shown to the cottage nearest the car park, even though we were staying 4 nights. There were 2 rooms, one double and 1 only single. The fourth person had to sleep in a pull out bed in the living room. The sofa was right near the front door, so when it was opened it blocked the entry. There was only one bathroom and this was on the ground floor. Not ideal if you needed to use the bathroom in the night. There was no other comfortable seating other than the pull out sofa so when we sat together we had to sit on the stairs as the table was not comfortable to sit for long periods. The bedrooms had only small windows at floor level. There is no airconditioning so the apartment was very stuffy. There was a table outside but it was in the full sun for most of the day so we couldn't really sit there. There was no shade. Even though there was a mini kitchen- and this featured in the photos provided by the site, they only provided 2 glasses. No cutlery, no plates etc even though there was a hot plate. there was no kettle to make a cup of tea. The dining room only appeared to be open for breakfast and lunch. When you came home there was no possibility of a drink or snacks. You couldn't really buy your own as there were no plates or glasses. The property was extremely remote. Internet was very slow and spotty. The breakfast was ordinary. There were not hot options offered- just continental options. For the price I don't think it was great value.
We have rent an appartment in this resort for one week. It was a nice appartment with two bedrooms. Airco and wifi worked very well. It is a good place to visit all the nice places in the environment and after this to relax on the country side. It is about 15 minutes driving to Modica. We appreciated the garden and the swimming pool. Although it was 35 degrees, it was doable because there is always some wind. We really enjoyed our stay so we were surprised it was so quiet. The food was good and the staff was very nice and helpfull. We can recommand this location.
We spent an amazing week here with friends. The place is wonderful, just like the whole atmosphere. The rooms are very clean, the staff is really helpful and kind. The breakfasts and dinners were amazingly delicious. Can't wait to be there again! Nora and Nandi
The site is beautiful, in the countryside but not exceptional view . The rooms are quite large with old rugs on the floor that does not promise a perfect hygiene . The bathroom is poorly designed . Breakfast is okay. It s nice, but a bit expensive for average benefits ...
This is a very beautiful, quiet, romantic place which is convenient for exploring Ragusa, Modica and Noto. It would be a lovely place to have a wedding. We booked a superior room which was beautiful with jacuzzi bath, mini bar and hair dryer. The only thing that was missing was air conditioning. We arrived back to our room after eating out in Modica nd found the unit was not working. We opened the small windows above the door but it did not provide much relief from the heat. Luckily it wasn't too hot for Sicily but it was very muggy for us. We reported the lack of air conditioning next morning but we still had to spend the second night without it and they didn't offer to move us to another room. I think the lack of personal service spoilt our visit which is a shame because it was the most beautiful place and so much thought had gone into making it special. The building has been lovingly restored and is stunning. It was very quiet while we were there, not many guests. I feel it would have been better if there had been facilities for lunch and maybe use of a bar, but of course these things maybe available when it is busier, June is not high season.
This is a great place. There was five of us staying for two nights in three rooms - wish we stayed longer. It is out in the country so you need a car - the location instructions from the hotel were good and we had no problems finding it, despite wrong turns leaving Modica. The hotel has a great historic atmosphere, beautiful gardens. Rooms are large clean and comfortable. Lovely terrace outside each room overlooking the gardens. Plenty of parking available. Fantastic breakfast, one of the best I have had anywhere. The hotel will provide dinner if you pre-book, however we tried the local restaurants - all good, great food at low cost. For somewhere to stay while touring SE Sicily, this is the place.
The place seems to be unknown from gps navigation devices, so be sure to phone ahead to the hotel. They will send a car to guide your own car to the hotel. The Torre is a huge property with manicured gardens and beautifully renovated antique buildings. A nice swimming pool is at hand. Rooms are very comfortable and wifi is more than ok. A nice buffet bf is offered.
We stayed a few nights is this beautifull old farm house which is completly renovated. Location is 25 minutes from the ocean but also 25 minutes form Modica and just a few minutes form a large valley where you can see the remains of old houses from centuries ago. The building is beautifull and around 200 meters from the road. You don't hear any traffic. You have one large appartment on the first floor in which we stayed, it think one or two on the inside patio and around 8 on the big garden side with view on the swimming pool. Please be aware that the complete farm is very new but the furniture in the room is more Farm style from years ago. They tell you this on forehand but you have to like it. Bathroom has to be modernised in this room on the top floor. Other rooms have already a new bathroom i believe The swimming is deep and good for swimming. You can sit around the swimming pool under one of the big and old olive trees. Breakfast is good but diner in the evening could be better. Probably you end up eating somewhere in a city you just visited like we did. Staff was friendly but you don't really see them. I could imagine that this is a perfect isolated location for a wedding.
The place is wonderful and professionally restored. The premisis is close to modica and cava d ispica and only minites from pozzallo we had a room with a cooker fridge tv and 2 beds one double and one single which were very tidy.only negativ thing is that restaurant is only open on high season although the owner said that if we asked her earlier she would fix us dinner.we were guided to a restaurant 5 min away which was very good.
