A large, loud wedding reception took place on the lawn in front of the lodge on Saturday until 10:00 p.m. We paid top dollar for a lake-view lodge room so we could enjoy the advertised views and serenity of the lodge’s location, which was impossible.

Can't beat the location: fantastic view and walkable trails—charming lodge, clean and with all the amenities except wifi, which is limited to 90 minutes. Food and lodging costs are expensive, but given the isolated location, it's understandable. I recommend it!

Try another place to stay, but come enjoy the lake

Room was nothing like advertised. View of a roof. No trees or lake. Coffee machine had no plug in unless placed on floor, windows very dirty, shower door did not close. Not able to change rooms as we booked through “3rd Party”, so hotels.com doesn’t come off as a good deal. The lake is gorgeous and the food was good.

Lovely spot, slow checking in. A little put off that the only breakfast option was a $25 buffet! I don’t want that much food and cost!! Dinner was wonderful in the beautiful historic lodge.

You can't beat the nostalgia you feel at this historic lodge. Relaxing on the back deck or lawn, looking at the lake with a drink is just perfect after a day of hiking. The inside gathering space is very inviting as well if the weather isn't as nice. The bar serves pizzas all afternoon and evening and we saw plenty of people opting to have that for dinner. We ate in the dining room. It was good and the view was nice. We arrived in the afternoon and checked out in the morning. We didn't have time to take advantage of the on site kayak & canoe rentals but would if we stayed longer. The pool and game room are nice amenities for families. Our room was in the main lodge. It was basic but had a view of the lawn and the lake and had a king size bed. We slept comfortably despite no a/c but I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it if it was hot out. You will be unplugged here! There is no cell service and you get 90 minutes of wifi per day. That was fine for us but it was a little weird feeling like family couldn't contact us.i do recommend staying here if you enjoy historic properties like I do. Even if you don't stay overnight it's worth spending some time there.

There is the old, original lodge built in the 1920s, which we stayed in and was very charming. They also have newer wings with more up to date amenities. There are lots of trails easily accessible from the lodge that feature old growth rain forests covered in moss. These woods are just as magnificent as the Hoh Rainforest, and far less crowded.

Very disappointing for $466 a night

Bathroom was pathetic, toilet very low, shower so very tiny you could hardly move or bend down. Very small sink out of bathroom in the tiny room with bed. Paint scratched off walls, we were in a view room with tiny window and screen that were very dirty. Internet was not free after 90 minutes. Check in was at 4:00 and only one person to check guests in with a long line of guests waiting No value in this stay

This lodge is in a supremely beautiful area and is well run. The grounds are immaculate and there are enough activities on offer that you can come here and never get in your car until you leave. You can kayak on the lake, go fishing, take a pontoon boat tour, swim in warm weather, and hike. You can dine in the restaurant (overpriced but OK) or get pub food (surprisingly good pizza) at the bar. You can sit in front of the fire in the rustic, well-appointed lobby. I would have given this lodge five stars if it wasn't for the late check-in and the wifi. The check-in is already set at 4:00 p.m., which is late. They didn't manage to have the room ready until 5:00 p.m. A staff member offered us compensation, but nothing ever came of it. Also, we were misinformed about the wifi situation. While it's not a big deal to not have wifi, the employees should be informed about the situation. We were told we got 90 minutes of free wifi a day, but it was actually only 90 minutes total.
