As promised, we enjoyed an unbelievably quiet escape from the rest of the world, surrounded only by all the sights and sounds of the Saginaw Bay. Our visit to the little lighthouse was at the end of March, during the prime migratory season of thousands of birds. We spent our entire time watching the geese, ducks, cranes, gulls, swans, and the eagles. At one point, we observed 18 eagles gathered on a sandbar, all vying for someone's catch of the day. We definitely would recommend this time of year to all the bird lovers out there. Maybe we will come back and visit during the warmer months so that we can enjoy kayaking, fishing, and a bonfire on the bay. Side notes to consider: Our host was very friendly and accommodating. She texted us a couple of times and alerted us to some eagle sightings. If you are interested in experiencing tiny house living or minimalizing your life, this is definitely a place you should try! Be prepared to climb ladder steps, as there are no sleeping accommodations on the lower level. We would suggest planning your meals ahead of time, keeping in mind that due to the quaint size of the Lighthouse, it has a kitchenette with a sink, small refrigerator, microwave, toaster, electric skillet and Keurig. There is no stove, but there is a propane grill outside. We discovered a cute pub with good food called the Bayshore Bar that was about 2-3 miles west.

Our little visit was absolutely everything we needed! We stayed for Valentine’s Day the weekend before because it worked out better for us. If you are uneasy with small spaces and climbing, just make sure you have you person with you! My husband helped me tremendously! Lol! Once you get there and see your surroundings, it makes you feel like you are at the edge of the earth and noone else is around! It was great!! We will be back because Tracy was an amazing host and it's a Lighthouse!

It was such a beautiful and cozy place to spend the weekend. Tracy was a generous host who has managed such a magical light house. It was a freezing weekend with howling winds but the light house was nice and toasty allowing us to appreciate the serene views of the frozen lake from the comfort of a warm bed.

The place is super cute. The steps to go up and downstairs was scary, as I don’t have good balance. We were not able to heat the downstairs. So we weren’t able to use it much. It was so cold, it hurt to sit on the toilet. Tracy was easy to communicate with and was very accommodating.

Tracy is an amazing communicator - kind, thoughtful and spot on with her outreach. I enjoyed her hosting and her tiny lighthouse-shaped cottage. This is truly a tiny house, a dozen feet or so on a side, perfectly suited for one (or two who really like each other!) people. Downstairs holds a micro, but well-equipped, kitchenette and bathroom. A trip up a sturdy ladder with grab bars takes you to a bedroom with a memory foam full-sized bed with a pile of wonderful warm, soft bedding, a small table and a couple of high chairs, and an absolutely breathtaking 270-degree view through arched windows and a fulll patio wall of water and, periodically, bald eagles. We watched ice sheets and weather come in and out during our wintertime visit and were absolutely charmed. A few technical difficulties: it was brutally cold while we were there (temps in the 10s-20s but winds at 50 mph plus), and we had some trouble keeping both electric heaters running (one upstairs, one down) even with no other lights or electrical items running. Tracy told us those are being replaced with propane models, and we saw evidence of that conversion in progress. The DVD player/TV was inconsistent for us, which was meaningful in a place with no wifi. But these are ultimately minor quibbles; the place was spotless, the host was tremendous, and the view was incredibly impressive, even to world travelers. If you're the type who works in bed on a laptop, this is a lovely retreat.
Surrounded by water on three sides, daily visits by eagles - this tiny cottage offers unbeatable views.

The lake view was scenic but frozen which is understandable for this time of year. It just was an unpleasant experience due to the circuit breakers going off. There were times we did not have warm water. The owner states she plans to address the problem. There is no Wi-Fi either, we purchased a smart TV and used our phones for hotspot. We also purchase electronic cooking items to cook our food, otherwise we enjoyed our stay. We got to experience how to live in a tiny home. I imagine the experience would have been much different if it was summertime.

Absolutely beautiful property. The views are breathtaking in the evening and in the morning. Tracy is so welcoming and kind and truly makes you feel at home. I set my alarm to catch the sunrise and I promise you won’t regret it. Even made a new friend (Oreo the cat! Lol) Me and my fiancé will definitely be back. So happy to have found this hidden gem.

We had the most amazing weekend away at the Light House! This was our mini honeymoon until we can get away for a trip this summer. It was so relaxing and beautiful, we couldn't get over how beautiful the grounds were. The bed was so comfortable, the sheets were incredibly soft, everything was exactly what we wanted after a hectic few months. Thank you so much for giving us such beautiful memories.

We had a wonderful time. Really a fabulous experience. Very beautiful and private spot out on the point and a very gracious host. I will say its not for absolutely everyone, you have to be fairly able bodied to get up and down the latter/through a doorway into the bedroom. But it was great stay, we would love to do it again, maybe see it in the snow with ice on the bay

We absolutely loved our stay in the LightHouse. It has such a wonderfully cozy feel. The lighthouse is on a stretch near the owners own home, but you never feel like your stay isn’t completely private and there is a reasonable distance between the buildings. The lighthouse has such amazing views looking out over the bay. There are binoculars supplied and even if you don’t see yourself as a birdwatcher, you can find yourself joyfully watching the coming and going of all the different types for hours. The sun rises and sunsets are stunning and you can see it all from the edge of the water by the fire pit or through the large windows on all sides on the upper level. Bay City provided great restaurants, antique malls and everything else we needed. It was also a short drive to Frankenmuth where we spent a great day. It was just amazing and can’t thank Tracy enough for sharing this gem.
