Jungle is accurate

The pool is great, location out there, at one time this place would of been awesome, but it's on the decline as ants are eating it away. But it's still pretty cool.

Super Fun venue

I stayed here three nights with my family. The grounds are beautiful, the waterslide and zip line were so fun. The pool and everything outside was super amazing. We were close to many activities as well. There were enough beds for us all, six of us total. There is a kitchen and two bathrooms. Only thing to keep in mind is that there is no actual living room and no TV, which we didn't mind but didn't know really in advance. There is also a ping pong table outside which my family loved. Overall, this was a great place to stay!

Adventurers Only

All reviews are subjective, so let me be clear before starting. I chose this place because it was off the beaten path and would give a non-touristy experience. If that’s what you’re looking for then you will thoroughly enjoy this place. I stayed in the lower unit and was able to walk out of my room directly to the pool where I swam daily while listening to the sounds of birds. I enjoyed being able to wash my clothes after hiking through the national parks nearby, and I enjoyed being relatively close to Quepos. Now, as an off-road lover, this place was heaven because you have to drive miles into a palm forest on unpaved dirt and gravel roads. Getting to the property was great practice for what you will experience if you visit the many natural attractions in the area. Also, I was centrally located enough that I visited volcanoes, hot springs, sloths, saw a monkey cross the road, and more. The wifi was solid, but to restate it, there is nothing close by except for the property manager who lives next door who is ready to assist if you need it. This place is an adventurers paradise! One of my favorite moments was sitting in the pool while listening to the natural soundscape. I felt like I was living in the jungle! If you are a nature lover, not afraid of the little lizards that may run around, would love to see birds that are in the area, be close to attractions and get a authentic feel of this country in its natural state, this place is for you.

Fun Stay

We enjoyed Paul's Tarzan house a lot, The kids loved the pool and zip-line! Paul and his assistant were very attentive and helpful leading up to our stay and during. The house was clean and had everything we needed for three nights. There are two neighbor property pretty close that share the outside attractions, but they were both empty during our stay so we had no issue with that. We also went on the Macha tour that was recommended by the host and we had a great time. Thanks Paul for making our last weekend in Costa Rica extra fun and sharing your home with us. Hopefully we will be back soon!

Perfect getaway in nature

A unique and beautiful property. Our girls (age 5 and 8) had so much fun with the slide and pools. Saw all kinds on f birds and wildlife and just enjoyed the sounds of the area. Neighbors are great. We had trouble finding the location at first, but made it with some help from neighbors. Make sure to arrive before nightfall. Off the beaten path and perfect for what we wanted.

The zip line house with no zip lines…

The zip lines weren’t available/working. The bridge to watch sunset had guests staying at both ends. The hot tub/pool didn’t work with jets or heat. Wifi and hot water maybe wasn’t set up to accommodate all units being occupied at once. Indoors was very clean. The bathrooms were great. Very nice shower heads; just not hot.

Loads of fun

My kids had so much fun with the slide and zip line. The unit was nice and it was great to be able to do laundry mid trip. My only complaint was that there wasn’t enough hot water for the family of 4 to shower at the end of the day and it wasn’t warm yet the next morning (I am guessing it is solar).

Great Family Place

We enjoyed the property with the pool, hot tub, and slide. Our check-in had a little hiccup, but the property owner and manager worked together to ensure our family had our needs covered. Our place had a private pool and a grill. However, there were a few bugs, in both the common room and shower. One thing that I favored about this house was the WIFI, not only did the WIFI cover the entire property, but it was very fast. The community pool with a slide was amazing! It was safe and convenient for the kids. As other families arrived, the common space started to feel overwhelming. Finally, the location nearby restaurants selection was limited. We had a road block into Quepos which limited our options. Overall the place was most definitely worth the money. Juan Carlos and family are amazing. He insured our needs were met on the property.

Fun and relaxing

This was by far our favorite place we stayed in Costa Rica! We were welcomed by Jaun Carlos who showed us around and was great to help with anything we needed or questions about the area. The Tarzan Home was full of entertainment for our kids (and for us adults!). We stayed on the lower level and there is 2 other sections of the house that can be rented out so if you don't want to chance sharing the place it may not be for you. We met 2 other families and a girls group - everyone was great. The place has a water slide, hanging bridge, zip line (where you can drop right into the pool), a few mattress bed areas tucked underneath the slide area for relaxing and a hot tub (it gets pretty warm but not hot like your typical hot tub). The place was stalked with everything basic and there is a common area where you can use a microwave, eat, play ping pong and relax in a hammock. There is also a manual washer and dryer, which was so nice to have. We spent time at Manuel Antonio National Park, did a tour with Hacienda Mil Farm just up the road (highly recommend) and visited the Altrus Wildlife Reserve (also great tour). The rest of the time was at the Tarzan Home!

Such a fun, adventurous house!

We stayed in the bottom floor of the Tarzan Jungle House for 2 nights, and overall it was a great place to stay. We had a great time using the swimming pool, water slide, and jacuzzi, as well as wandering around the property taking in the views. We weren’t aware when we booked the place that it is actually 3 separate rentals- bottom floor, top floor, and treehouse, which was not a problem and the other couples staying were very nice, but just something to be aware of (would be great to rent the whole place for a larger family or group). We did have a few small issues (things that were stated in the listing that weren’t there)- the listing said that it had a microwave and toaster (which maybe one of the other rentals did but the downstairs did not), which were very minor given that there was a working stove and oven, but would have made cooking and reheating leftovers a lot easier as the stove and oven there is very small. The listing also said that the zipline had harnesses, which it did not. The manager, Juan Carlos was very kind and accommodating, but he told us when we got there that his son would come over to show us how to use it and never did, so we didn’t feel safe using it (the first zipline is to a platform, it is just a wooden disc type swing that you sit on and go. No helmets or harnesses). The last issue, and biggest one for us, was that the listing said that there was a car available for rent for $65 a day. We only needed a car during this part of our trip to get to Manuel Antonio so we didn’t rent a car beforehand and took a taxi to the house. I messaged the owner of the place, and he wasn’t even aware that their listing said there was a car available. We ended up being able to catch a bus to Quepos and a taxi to Manuel Antonio, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time that we should have rented a car before arriving to the house. All in all it worked out and we had a great time at the house, but just a few things to be aware of for future renters. We would definitely come back to stay again though! Also, we ate dinner our last night at a local farm- Hacienda Mil Bellezas- and it was the best meal we had during our entire trip! The owners Dani and Markus cooked us the most delicious homemade meal and set up a beautiful table outdoors for us to eat. They also offer day tours of their property and waterfall. They are only a few miles down the road, check them out on Facebook!

Unique experience especially for my children

The place was clean and stocked averagely with kitchen utensils. We were able to prepare meals. The hosts live next door and are very willing to help. My children enjoyed the zip lines and water slide that emptied into the pool. Owner was always very prompt to answer any questions. Would definitely book again.

Oasis

What a great spot here! Our family of 7 had a great time. The pool was a big hit with the kids. The house is beautiful. There are still a few things in progress but overall it is fantastic. We loved the location being a true cultural experience for our children. The care taker and his family are very nice and helpful. Our biggest snag was the hot water. It is solar powered so we eventually figured out it was better to shower in the day than in the morning. The local activities are amazing. Manuel Antonio Park, the beaches, the drive to Jaco, are all wonderful. We saw macaws blue and scarlet, sloths, monkeys, snakes, frogs, herons, and so on. Get to the beach early and snag a cabana, chairs, boards, and a table for a very reasonable price. The souvenirs are expensive so beware. We love it here and hope to return!!
