the wait staff and reception staff were excellent. the tours booked for us were great. rooms are large, comfortable, with great views.

Spectacular setting and 270 degree ocean views not done justice by internet photos. We were tempted never to leave our corner "junior suite" with wrap around terrace -- especially anytime around sunset.

There was a wedding scheduled while we were there. Pool / dining areas weren't available during certain Times. We had issues with our plumbing and HVAC. The staff was friendly and fixed our issues as quick as they could. I'll still come back.

The hotel was ok but the service was not what I had thought it should be from the ratings I saw.

Meals were fabulous! Front desk was extremely accommodating....Will definitely return!

Fabulous view, best view in the area, incredible sunset, great service, convenient to restaurants within walking distance, easy to find the hotel using Waze app, staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was included, and monkeys could be found in the trees around the property. Oh and tours would pick up at the property.

View from room and restaurant and many of rooms of expansive Manuel Antonio Beach. Hear the howler monkeys in the mornings, relax in the infinity pools....attentive staff and August not crowded there. Away from busy Quepos. A little quiet at nite but perfect if you are not wanting touristy atmosphere.

This is a beautiful rustic hotel with stunning views of the ocean. If you are looking for comfort and luxury this may not be the best place. They seem stingy with bath products, pool towels, and the rooms itself is very rustic more so than luxurious. There was an insect infestation in our room and on one occasion had to have the room fumigated and re-cleaned. The hotel staff took care of this in a very prompt manner. Each guest gets only one pool towel and they make you verbalize that you received your "towel ticket" on arrival. this seems odd considering the price of the hotel for Costa Rica prices. This is the first time we have been asked to "confirm we have received one towel ticket". This takes down the class of the hotel in my eyes. On our final day, we received calls reminding us that check out was at noon despite having asked earlier in our stay for late check out. The views are stunning and I think this is the main selling point for the hotel. Also, the breakfast is fantastic as is the dinner we had at the restaurant.

My first time in Costa Rica, had a great time. My stay at Mariposa exceeded my expectations. My room had a beautiful view to the pool and beach. It was clean, beds were comfortable. The room had air conditioning which I had no issues with. The pool area is lovely, Elias the bartender is the best! friendly and really nice. The staff helps you book activities. The food is also delicious! Breakfast buffet was great. And the food you can get at the hotel restaurant was also delicious! I love Costa Rica!! Overall, I highly recommend staying at Mariposa. Its beautiful and very safe. Quepos is a great town!

View from room and pool make this a fantastic experience. Breakfast buffet is average Costa Rica buffet. Better less expensive restaurants are within walking distance. Took walk down hill on back street to beach and saw more wildlife than in the park and then back by bus, stopping just a few steps from hotel. Would return here again.

Staff is amazing, view is to die for and overall a great value!!

This hotel has the most incredible view and a fabulous staff. We were so happy staying here! Problem for the elderly would be no elevator and stairs are exposed to pouring rain if your timing isnt good, but this wasnt a problem for us.

We had a wonderful time at La Mariposa. I was on a weekend vacation with my friends on our study abroad trip. We have been studying on the east of Costa Rica and decided we need to escape the rainy season of the rainy rainforest. There were 10 of us in 3 rooms. We are all around age 21. The view does not get any better. We were in a standard partial ocean view room and it was phenomenal regardless. The breakfast was to die for and the pools were A grade. The accessibility to the ocean and Manuel Antonio park was very simple. There were a couple of great outdoor bars around that made for 2 great nights. We even were able to be picked up from the hotel for jet skiing tour and surf lessons. Our greatest problems could be narrowed down to the functionality of the room. After the first night, our sink was not draining. In one of our rooms, the water pressure was virtually nonexistent. The hot water also ran out quickly, so be sure to grab first shower. Overall, we are young adults, so we were not inclined to complain too much, but just a couple of details that made it not as luxurious as we were hoping for the cost. The amenities outside the rooms however made the hotel more than worth it. There are not enough words or pictures that could describe the view.

The view was awesome! The hotel is lovely and the staff as friendly as can be. They stored our bags after we checked out, gave us towels and use of all facilities on that day as well. Super nice. Pool bar was great. The only downside was that the "hot tub" isn't actually a hot tub but a pool that is heated by solar power. It's warm for certain but the water will not be hot if that matters to you. It didn't matter to us because the place was beautiful. Easy access to food, beach, etc. Recommend without reservation.

Very nice accommodations. Our room was actually a little casa overlooking the coastline. Kept exceptionally clean inside and out. The gardens were lovely and the grounds were very nicely maintained. Breakfast which was included was consistently good everyday. The staff was both friendly and helpful. We never had to ask twice for anything. They helped arrange transportation to and from airport and taxis while we were there. No complaints, but a small refrigerator in the room would have been a great addition though!

Such a wonderful view and breakfast was included in the price and was complete. Excellent, attentive staff.

The hotel location was perfect. Breathtaking ocean views from the room and throughout the property. From my balcony, I saw a troupe of capuchin monkeys chase each other through the trees. The last day I was able to videotape them as they played within 10 feet of me. Very friendly and helpful staff. Maria in particular went out of her way to assist on several occasions. Thanks Maria!!! I'd return to La Mariposa in a heartbeat.

My wife and I stayed a week at Hotel La Mariposa in Manuel Antonio. The partial ocean view/jungle view rooms are very nice with an enclosed balcony. The staff are very friendly and helpful with booking tours. Activities include jungle canopy zip lines, white water rafting, horseback riding, off shore fishing, surfing school, etc. Several good restaurants in Manuel Antonio and also a very good one in Quepos. Ask Maria for recommendations.

We had a great stay at this hotel from the minute we arrived. the staff were very pleasant and helpful with local tours and restaurant reservations. We would definitely go back to la Mariposa.

This place was great. No words to describe the beauty and amazing view of the ocean! Staff was great and very helpful with info on how to get around and things to do in the area. Pools were great and food was great too. I would go back for sure and would suggest to anyone going to Costa Rica that it's a must! thanks!

Dear Mr or Mrs.Thanks for staying with us. We work hard to make our guests happy and appreciate your feedback! We’re sorry you were unhappy with our polices. Our hotel has a strict pest control, but for the location of the hotel it is more that normal that we have insects, mostly at the end of our summer. Thanks for give us the opportunity to serve you and we will give special attention to your recomendations. Pura Vida,
