Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa

I really loved the room and location. The rooms are clean and well maintained. Just didn’t like that you could here hallway traffic for some reason there was a whistling guest or staff. You could also hear staff on their radios but it was great that you could not hear the street noise as the hotel is located in a central busy side street. I also loved the turn down service it is one thing all hotels should make compulsory. We stayed at four different types of accomodation and this was 1 of the 2 hotels this one I rate the best of the two.

This hotel is costly, but it was a great centralized location for heading out to the various activities in Queenstown. The hotel was generous with their bottled water. We would get 2 bottles every evening and they had bottles in the reception area that we could pick up if needed. The staff was also helpful in booking activities. We booked most of ours ahead of time, but we did try to book a glacier tour through them (it was cancelled due to weather conditions). We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel. There was a bakery right across the street that had an excellent and less expensive selection. The only thing I would say wasn't good was that the glass shower doors did not close well and it got the bathroom floor quite wet. We had plenty of towels to limit that, but was still a mess at times. The room was otherwise very comfortable. Also, we had the mountain room view. It was a boring view, but who cares. You shouldn't be spending much time in the hotel anyhow. :-) I wouldn't pay for a more expensive view.

Large room with every amenity you could want. Lovely view of the town and waterfront, small step-out balcony, mini-frig and nespresso coffeemaker. Luxury marble bath with separate shower & tub, small TV over bathtub, heated marble floor! Easy walking distance into town as well as up the hill to the gondola and the kiwi park. Our first trip to Queensland and we really loved the area, certainly enhanced by our stay at the Sofitel. Service and employees were all very helpful, accommodating.

This hotel is well located to explore Queenstown and all it has to offer. We had a nice little balcony where we could view the city. Our room was perfect -- comfortable bed, very nice shower with separate bath, clean, nice coffee machines. Breakfast was included with our rooms. The buffet was quite good and hot items were included. The breakfast was a great way to start the day. The front desk checked us in quickly, and the concierge helped us with many things from dinner recommendations, transportation to the airport, and recommendations on activities. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Shocking and overpriced. Spider in the bed. Insufficient soap. Smelt of mould. Worst spa experience ever. Overcrowded breakfast with little replacement of depleting food items. Room service food was inedible. Definitely a disappointment!

We loved Queenstown and the Sofitel was perfectly located. Room and bed were comfy. As with any good hotel the service is the differentiator everyone was very welcoming especially Rose who sourced a great wine tour

Beautiful hotel, wonderful and attentive staff, great location and handy to everything in Queenstown. It's always the little things that make something really stand out on a trip - and the Sofitel Queenstown did this - instead of the usual bill under your door on the final night it was a hand written note thanking you for your stay and wishing the best for the rest of your trip. Will be staying here again when next in Queenstown!

Nice place but bizarre French corporate stamp of you are staying at an all French hotel... bizarre ground floor decor of Louis the 14th? Meets Givenchy that does not work... NO reference to anything Kiwi or Queenstown! Not what I expected and disappointed. kind of like we are a French hotel group and this is what we do and this is what you get...no respect to the local scene. I am in New Zealand to experience New Zealand! What are they thinking! Would not stay with this hotel groups again based on this.... Lovely rooms and bed..

The hotel is located close to the lake. There are shops and restaurants close by. The room was large with a very large bathroom. There is a separate tub and shower. The bathroom has its own TV. The bathroom also had a heated floor. The bed was very comfortable. There was a minibar and Nespresso machine. The closet safe was a bit hard to figure out. There is a coffee shop and cafe on the ground floor.

The location is good. You can walk to most things in downtown Queenstown but it is just far enough where it isn't extremely busy. Parking is valet only. We ended up parking in the public garage next door. It was much cheaper. The room was large and comfortable. The bathroom was roomy with a nice rain shower and tub. Internet was fast. Only complaint is the food. We had a meal in the french restaurant and it was pretty bad and could be improved.
