Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa

Got upgraded to a suit, which was nice. Like the restaurant a great deal. Not fine dining but very good traditional French. Probably one of the lesser Sofitels I've been to. It was January so price was high and a bit more than would be good value.

We stayed here as part of a tour and were completely satisfied with the room and service. The staff were outstanding and went beyond our expectations in terms of service. The breakfast was the best of all the hotels we stayed in on a 3 week tour.

We came for our honeymoon in hopes of breaking away from the traditional lay-on-the-beach trip. No, there are no lake views at Sofitel, but our room did have beautiful views of the town and mountains. The hotel is centrally located, and the staff are attentive and helpful. We did order a room service burger that was horribly overcooked on our first night. We sought food outside of the hotel for the rest of the week - the food in Queenstown is really excellent. We also visited the spa and were very impressed. We both had massages and it was a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Incredibly well located ! Smsvknin the heart of this energetic town. Clean rooms. Spacious. Wonderful service. Lovely coffee bar and restaurant in lobby. Amenities purrrfrct. Scored! The staff really helped with every need. I also always want a bathtub. Got one and super comfy sheets. Nice to have after all day hikes and bikes

When we checked in, we were told there were free soda and ice cream in the lounge 24/7 as well as free alcohol 5-7. All 9 people checking in heard this and actually double checked to make sure we heard correctly. 2 days in, after we had already had the free drinks twice, we realized they randomly decided to start charging for those drinks and removed the 24/7 soda we were promised. When I went to ask about it to the ‘manager’ on duty (who was actually not the listed manager other times when I have seen her there) Annabelle, i was basically insulted. Not only did she claim no one said that, which they did, she was mocking me. She was rude and condescending. So upset at a manager. Why purchase the luxury rooms with the free amenities if Annabelle is going to make fun of you for something promised. Annabelle is definitely not manager material.

This hotel does not have lake views. However it is centrally located and the rooms are very comfortable, if somewhat small. The balconies are tiny and there are really no views to speak of. The bed was super comfortable - I would have liked the option of woolen or cotton blanket to warm duvet in summer. Service was outstanding with Seamus on concierge a delight and full of knowledge. Other staff also excellent. The lounge for ACCOR guests was not a great example of a club lounge as limited healthy snack options and very small Breakfast offered some healthy options and plenty of choices though is very expensive at $44. Second day we went to a nearby cafe which was way cheaper and very good. The steam room temperature was too low to work properly and you need to book for this to set aside a time, though it is FOC. Gym pretty small. Overall a pleasant stay very close to all you could need in Queenstown.

We had a great stay at Sofitel. Pros and cons listed below. Pros: - bathroom was really nice (Jacuzzi tub and shower) and felt plush - solid service Cons: - room was small - no views - small gym - valet parking pricey at $50 - reasonably well located but not as central as some other hotels Overall, we had a really nice stay. Cons: - Room was on the small side - we had no views - valet parking was pricey at $50 - reasonably well located but not as central as some other hotels Service was good.

We reserved 5 rooms 10 months ago and we even were required to pay in CASH. We reserved 3 rooms with lake front views. What a joke! I’m basically looking at only a teeny corner of the lake and the remainder of my view is obstructed by a wing of the this hotel. (I’m in room 619). Adding insult to injury, I’m next to the elevators so we hear every single person (and loud child) coming to or from their rooms. We complained and were only offered to be moved tomorrow to another room that doesn’t have a view either. Why did I pay top dollar for this?

Staying here for 5 nights in 2 rooms (402 and 403). In 402 - I couldn’t fill the tub .. closing knob doesn’t work. Bathroom door doesn’t open - many attempts were needed to open. Nescafé coffee machine didn’t work. This Sofitel doesn’t deserve 5-star rating. Did not meet my expectations!

Loved the location, staff, and the room itself. Super comfy, modern, and a good size. Big bathroom. The staff are amazing. Booked all our tours and reservations through the concierge directly. No need to go anywhere else! Location could not be better. Walking distance to everything in town, and easy driving access in and out. Great hotel in the heart of Queenstown! The breakfast in the restaurant was good... basic hotel buffet style. I did think it was expensive for what it was compared with breakfast at restaurants in town. We just didn't have time in the morning to go wandering before activities.
