I'm quite sure this structure was a nice 4* hotel back in the Seventies, but it has gotten old since then. The door of the minibar was broken, the shower too small, the choice of shampoo and soap sub-par, the mattress not very comfortable.Breakfast was very basic with no room for typical Sardinian food. It's a cheap option if you need to be near Quartu, but there are far nicer parts of Sardinia you should consider first. I gave two stars instead of one because of the staff, they were all very nice and helpful.
Staff very kind and helpful, that's why I am giving 2 stars instead of 1. Nice view and breakfast ok. Officially 4 star hotel but it's barely 2. Very old design and rooms. Carpet floor unstable, uncomfortable bed, air conditioning not working. The last day while we were preparing for checking-out the WC was obstructed and water kept flowing. End result was that our room started flooding with water and fecal pieces. Our little daughter almost ended up playing into that dirty liquid. The staff quickly fixed it and offered another room.
this neutral hotel complex rates three stars at most. it is located in the middle of nowhere (ie car essential). while the personnel are friendly and helpful, the rooms are basic although they do have a balcony. the breakfast is just ok, but the coffee hard to drink (we reverted to tea), and the insipid orange juice served in plastic glasses. the dining room is austere, but if you order simple food such as salad and pasta, it is not disappointing. briefly put,the prices are low, the charm is too, and it is not a fun place to be.
We wanted sun, relaxation, pool and we got it. However, be warned that hotel only really wants to deal in cash and did not want you to charge to rooms. The capacity of this place is enormous! However, everything somehow feels a little down at heel. That said there was a posh wedding during our stay and that seemed really well presented. Positives- uncrowded pool and surrounds. Good sun beds. No need to reserve. Lovely deep water swimming pool. No shallow end if you are not around 5'4". Paddling pool. Really friendly, helpful staff. Good bar and bar area. Good information provided. General spacious and airy hotel. Good sized room. (Floor 3, overlooking pool and out to sea.) Good breakfasts on top floor with cracking view. A really good pizzeria near the local roundabout (7 min walk) and bus stops outside hotel. Our boat trip day out was great. Again, 50 minutes on coach to get to action - Villasimius. Wifi good when working well! Very slow at other times...... But, hotel had had some big ideas Eg 2 pizza restaurants, neither existed. Lots of tennis courts- 1 looked in good shape. Lots of areas of the hotel were not in use, including most of the QT hotel which was joined. Food in bar was chef ding but tasty. Food in downstairs restaurant was very hit and miss. Rooms overlooking pool much better than those overlooking busy road at front. Local area feels a bit rough. Roads lead to sea in 200m but there is no pathway, promenade or any amenities in the near area. Cagliari 50 minute hot bus journey away or 20 Euro taxi ride. (Airport was 50 Euro for 4 to the hotel and 40 back to airport). We had great few days. We were with great friends and always have a really good time no matter what. We did swim, relax, eat, drink and be merry! I suspect some people were struggling though!!
.. this hotel is the one for you. The only positives I found were that the rooms were clean and the breakfast staff were friendly. Unfortunately it ends there. On arrival, the hotel staff are polite but not particularly friendly or very welcoming. We had to ask for information (like how to get into town, where breakfast and dinner was served, etc.) There are signs around the hotel but there are very few. Most areas of the hotel are unlit (lights were just switched off, especially around the staircases). The rooms are quite dark in the evenings, even if all the lights are switched on. I found a lack of information in the room that you would find in other hotels - local information, what to do in case of a fire, etc. The bathroom was always cleaned but the maintenance of the rest of the room was inconsistent. There is air conditioning but it didn't work in our room and the only mirror was in the bathroom (whereas my friend also had one in the main bedroom). On our first night, we decided to eat dinner at the hotel and I was served undercooked meat. I was extremely disappointed and while I was brought out a replacement, it put me off the meal especially when the staff did not seem overly bothered. The breakfast was fine but very limited in choice and especially so if you are vegetarian. While the hotel offers wi-fi, it is not great at all.. you have to sit in a particular area on the ground floor and even then, the connectivity is shoddy. The room service was also poor on both occasions we used it - my friend (who was staying in the other room) ordered a drink and it was mistakenly brought to our room - my other friend and I came up to see the barman banging on our door and when we told him we didn't order anything, he insisted that we did. On the second occasion, we tried to order two hot drinks (as there are no tea/coffee facilities in the room) and was told that they were not available. We then found out that the same barman went to the other room and woke up my friend's mother - turned out they had the drink. He left it in her room and only came to us to collect payment. No apologies at all. I could go on but that covers the service we received. I wouldn't go back especially if you want to use the hotel's other facilities - basically just a pool. Having read some of the other reviews, there are other features but as the hotel staff never pointed them out, we didn't get to try them out. Big disappointment but as we were only a bus ride away from town, it was bearable.
- Good location around 40 mins from town/20 mins from Poetto beach by bus and near a bus stop. So it is a quiet area. - Really lovely kitchen staff but not much selection for breakfast in the morning unless you just like boiled eggs and cake. - The hotel staff did not seem very welcoming on arrival. They did not give us any information and I had to ask for maps etc whereas when I visited Rome and other parts of Italy, the staff gave us maps and circled where we were and just gave us that little bit of extra information. - Hotel wifi is not great, only really available in specific locations on the ground floor. - Lack of variety on the menu on an evening - my friends meal came out undercooked and they did not make much effort in making the situation better so she did not eat that evening. - Lights were turned off in some corridors at night - My room was very dim with the bedroom lights on however my friends room was very bright. Overall the room provided a bed and shower which is essentially what we needed it for as we were out the majority of the day. However, I don't think it is a 4* as advertised from the above points.
Our room was clean and uncluttered, usual amenities. Swimming pool great for lazing and swimming (there's also a tennis court, etc). Food great - traditional Italian meals. Shop, bar and disco. Would love to go back.
The hotel is good in general. Clean and nice garden. We had few bad experience. In the first night there was no electricity in our room and we had to open windows as far it was very hot. Then we are havealy attacked by maskitou. :(:(. Beach near the hotel is very bad and it is very unpleasant to swim. For swimming it is necessary to take bus and go ~30 min. Staff is pleasant but there was some communication issues. Verdict- the price is good and it is ok to stay for one-two days.
My husband and I have just returned from a 10 night stay at this hotel. With hindsight we probably would have been better taking a 6 or 7 day break because apart from visiting beaches and churches there isn't much to do. The hotel was fine for all our needs. It was not very busy when we arrived (13 September) although some coaches later arrived with Scandinavians but the hotel never seemed over full. The breakfasts were fine with a good choice of cold food including meats, bread, yogurts, fruits and various sweet cakes, and endless coffees. The two restaurants were also good especially for meat lovers but it is advisable to book for the outdoor restaurant as it is open to non residents and can get busy. One night a week it didn't open at all. We tried the pizzas one night as there are numerous varieties in the menu although we didn't rate them much.We had intended to visit the BellaVista restaurant by the Supermarket two bus stops away towards Cagiari on our last day at lunchtime but it was shut (although opening time advertised as 13.00 to 15.30). This is a great base and easy to get the local bus into Cagliari (tip purchase a 7 day bus pass for 7 euros from the Information office at the bus station. This will get you into and around town and if you get off early you can spend time at Poetto Beach). The bus stop on the same side as the hotel has a bus which goes to Villasimus (blue arst bus once an hour and costs 4.5 euros) but it's quite a walk from the town to the beach. We took a train fro Cagliari to Oristano one day for some different sights but when we got there found there was nothing to see so we had a beer at Plaza Roma and got a taxi back to the station still it was a nice trip. Not sure that it would be a good place for young people as most visitors were more mature and there wasn't any entertainment apart from the pool and Bar. There were no stations in English on the TV but we picked up UK radio on our tablets. We were also the only English in the hotel but most Europeans speak English anyway, and we spoke a little German and Italian. There was a cash and carry immediately behind the hotel which was worth a visit.
For the price we paid – no complaints. If you don't pay 4* price don't expect 5* luxury, but there is everything you need for a good stay - kind English speaking staff, clean, comfortable and spacious room with sea-view balcony, free parking and Wi-Fi (not the best but it works), normal breakfast and large swimming pool. Good solution to explore Cagliari and nearby beaches for those who are traveling by car.
