Gem of a cottage
We absolutely loved our stay here, the cottage is old and many would say requires modernisation but we felt it all added to its character and charm. The beds were comfy as were the sofas and the kitchen was fully supplied with everything you could need.
The grounds were fantastic and we had many games of football, rounders and hide and seek with a group of 4 children under 10. We spent every evening outdoors and made the most of the hot tub and the bbq. The views from the garden are also lovely.
It’s in a great location and very close to so many lovely beaches and towns.
We could not have asked for a better week and we would love to come back in the future.

Incredible hidden away paradise
We stayed for two weeks and we wished we could of stayed for at least two more. The cottage is perfect. Incredibly clean on arrival, warm and fully stocked with everything you could need in the kitchen. It’s spacious and airy while still having that cozy country cottage feel. The beds are super comfy and there is so much room everywhere. We loved having the log fire on in the evenings and sitting out on the patio as the sun went down with a glass of wine. The garden is lovely, well kept and a great size. The dogs had a wonderful time exploring. The hot tub and sauna is the icing on a cake, adding a little bit of luxury after days hiking in the mountains or exploring the coastlines. There are so many lovely walks directly from the cottage and so much in the surrounding areas it really does have it all. We holiday in north wales every year and we will definitely be returning to this cottage. Thank you for making this years stay wonderful.

Great location for a relaxing break
Lovely house in a fabulous and remote location, perfect for starry nights and not having to worry about the neighbours. Large enclosed garden for the dogs so you could relax in the hot tub knowing where they were. Very comfortable bed and big sofas for snoozing on in the evening. Loads of fabulous beaches only 20-30 minutes away.
The house needs a bit of care - some lights (inside and out) don’t work, with a couple not having any bulbs in. Made arriving in the dark a bit tricky. A few logs would have been nice for the first night as we arrived on a cold evening. You need to light the fire in the evening as there’s only one radiator downstairs. Sadly the dishwasher wasn’t working - no one wants to do the washing up on holiday! A few instructions on rubbish/recycling, heating, tv, etc would have been useful.
The hot tub and sauna were fantastic and we would definitely stay here again as it was so relaxing!

A wonderful stay
We’ve been to Tany Y Bryn before for a weekend break some years ago and loved it. This time we stayed for a week and it was great to see this beautiful cottage again. Some notable upgrades since we last visited - a steam room and hot tub (neither of which we got around to sampling due to weather, unfortunately) - hopefully next time! The cottage looked so pretty on arrival, with twinkling Christmas lights beckoning us up the long track to the cottage. The location is spectacular. If the owner ever wishes to sell, let me know! Indoors the boot room is handy for damp coats and boots which are dry by the morning, the kitchen is a good size and well appointed with everything you need (although perhaps some cooking tongs would be handy), and the sitting room is cosy with its log burning stove and large comfortable sofas. A small basket of logs was provided on arrival, and you can buy more from the nearby petrol station. Very comfortable bed - slept like a log! The enclosed garden was perfect for the dogs, and at night the Milky Way was clearly visible directly overhead - the night sky here is spectacular. Location is great for exploring the local area, with glorious beaches and mountains as near or far as you care to go. The beautiful Abererch Sands is closest - a few minutes drive, with a mix of cobbles and sand, or further towards Porthmadog is Black Rock Sands (Morfa Bychan) the length of which you can drive on the stunning sandy beach itself. There’s so much to explore, and to be able to return to wonderful Tan Y Bryn at the end of the day and enjoy mulled wine by the fire is just the icing on the cake. We had local family visit us for coffee and they loved the place too. Can’t wait to come back again next year!
