Hack'n'Stay Adventure Farm - Paton's Rock

Summary:

Stay somewhere a little different in Golden Bay.

Hack’n’Stay Adventure Farm is a character-filled country escape in Puramāhoi, surrounded by horses, paddocks, gardens and the rural landscape of Golden Bay. This is not a polished, anonymous holiday house, it is a place with personality, history and a genuine connection to the land.

The traditional farmhouse has a wonderfully relaxed feel, with colourful, quirky touches and plenty of spaces to settle in after a day exploring. Gather around the fireplace, cook together, make use of the outdoor pizza oven or simply enjoy the peaceful farm atmosphere while horses graze nearby.

One of the real pleasures of staying here is being part of the wider Hack Farm environment. Wander through the grounds, enjoy the fruit trees and gardens, meet the animals or follow the farm trails towards beautiful Patons Rock Beach. Horse riding experiences can also be booked separately through Hack Farm.

It is a memorable Golden Bay stay for families, groups and travelers who value character, nature and experience over conventional luxury.

The Space:

Hack’n’Stay is a colourful, character-filled farmhouse with a relaxed and rustic feel. The open-plan living, dining and kitchen area offers plenty of space to gather, with a cosy wood burner and views across the surrounding farm. Bedrooms include a mix of double, single and bunk beds, making the house well suited to families and groups. Outside, horses, paddocks and gardens create a unique farm-stay atmosphere.

The Neighborhood:

Hack’n’Stay is located in Puramāhoi, in the quieter countryside between Tākaka and Collingwood. It is an excellent position for visitors wanting to explore Golden Bay while staying away from the busier holiday settlements.

One of the highlights is nearby Patons Rock Beach, a long, peaceful stretch of Golden Bay coastline that can be reached from the farm via its network of trails. Hack Farm’s own riding routes extend towards the beach and along the coastline, giving the property an unusually strong connection between farm and sea.

The farm is around 10 km from Tākaka according to the Nelson Tasman tourism listing, so cafés, galleries, shops and supplies are still within easy reach. In the other direction are attractions such as Collingwood and the northern reaches of Golden Bay, while nearby Te Waikoropupū Springs, the Pupu Hydro Walkway and other local walks make this a convenient base for exploring the wider region.

The well-known Mussel Inn is also nearby, and Hack Farm itself recommends it as a local option for a meal.

What makes Puramāhoi particularly appealing is the feeling of space. You are surrounded by farmland, hills and the changing light of Golden Bay rather than a dense residential neighbourhood. Days can be spent at the beach, walking, riding or exploring, before returning to the quieter rhythm of the farm.

For the Golden Bay Holiday Homes listing, I would use Description Option 1. It sells the thing that makes this property genuinely unusual, staying on Hack Farm itself, rather than trying to make it sound like another standard bach.
The villa is heated and features a kitchen. Other standard amenities include a washing machine and a fireplace.
