Beach was very nice and well kept. Resort was relatively clean and we saw the staff making effort to keep the areas clean. But there were bottles and glasses from previous evening still on the walk ways. Food was average and options were somewhat limited. Each restaurants had different themes, but the food seemed same but presented differently. Generally, staffs were nonchalant and indifferent although there were a few that were very friendly and helpful, but that was more of an exception. One of the down side was the sales pitch that was under the guise of free gifts. We refused the offer and one of the manager was aggressive and somewhat confrontational. I would ask the resort to be transparent about the sales pitch and respect our time and the reason that we come to the place at the first place. Lastly, if you are a nonsmoker, the resort does not seem to enforce the rules so be aware.

Staff was not very welcoming, nor did they seem happy to be there, constantly out of towels for beach/pool, room service is not 24/7, bedroom sheets not changed and instead just remade bed with same sheets, occasions where there were no clean towels left in the room after service, TVs did not work properly, booked a couples’ massage that was cancelled by the spa due to no staff, reserved a master suite and the welcome gift was a small bag of peanuts and crackers, booked an excursion via an agency that roams the hotel’s private beach which was essentially a scam. It’s been two weeks since the return of our visit and still have not gotten the refund for the $250 massage we booked that was cancelled. Bars understaffed, drinks watered down, not much liveliness on the adults only side. Would never return to this establishment.

Not every staff was nice. Room is cold and humid/moist at the same time. I was placed in a room with a wet bed. Room service comes in your room even when you put do not disturb. They also will use your bathroom, the lady who used my friend’s toilet left blood on her seat. Golf cart transportation pick and choose when they want to escort you even during hours when they are supposed to. The beach is public meaning anyone can just come into the resort.

Our room was spotless as well as the reat of the hotel and the staff was so friendly and courteous! Especially Ruth! The amenities in the room were great and the beach was awesome! The only reason I gave it 4 stars was that I felt the adult side had fewer specialty restaurants. But the food at the restaurants we had was outstanding!!!

Hotel has potential but needs to do a better job communicating with guests when they have issues. Multiple issues with hotel room when first arrived. Hotel is nice but needs to be better upkept for the price we paid for it. No water in room one day. There was no communication or response to why or to try to switch rooms to address this. Door of room in first room given looked like it had been broke into, super slow response to switch rooms. Took multiple calls/visits to desk upon arrival. Staff was pleasant throughout trip. The food choices never really changed. It wasn't bad but wasn't great either! We were there on New Years Eve and they did have a nice, unique menu at the buffet that day. This hotel wasn't horrible by any means but should never have an 8.0 relating on Expedia. We would give it a 6.0 mainly due to the poor upkeep of rooms and lack of communication when there were issues. If we had paid 1/2 of what we paid it would have been more appropriate in a value sense. We enjoyed our time there overall once we finally got things sorted out. They offered to give us upgraded status for free on a future trip but we decided that we would not stay again at the resort but did speak directly to the manager to commend a few staff members who where wonderful to us and to maybe help the resort to improve for future guests.

We stayed in the large two room suite that gave us elite status but we had problems right from the start. We got in late and our room was not at all where we had requested. Our adult children were supposed to be near us and they were on a completely different floor with a door in poor shape that ended up not even locking. With a low amount of staff there when we arrived at around 11 pm it was very difficult to get anything fixed. They finally moved our family to a different room that was an upgrade but it took about 3 hrs for that to be sorted out. They told us we could move the next day closer to our family but no options that night. Eventually the next day the elite coordinator helped us get on the same floor at least with our family and into a room with less problems. I'm not sure what would have happpened if we didn't have the elite status. The people at the hotel were very friendly overall and we encountered some great workers in the sports bar on the family side that made our trip more special. Having stayed at a different resort last year (but wanting a new experience) we would definitely say we were more disappointed in this resort. The food was ok.. the Brazilian steakhouse, Italian family side restaurant, breakfast at the buffet and the habachi were all pretty good (however not stellar). The regular buffets lacked variety day to day.. it was pretty much always the same foods no matter which you visited. Our favorite part were the excursions Claudio planned for us!

The property itself was pretty well maintained. However there was water damage to the ceiling of our patio; which pieces of drywall to continuously fall on the patio floors and into the swim-up pool attached to our room. This caused us to not desire to use the swim up pool or the patio area. However the issues the bothered me to the point on being sick to my stomach, is there were roaches on the walls and tables at the adult only side Buffet! I literally spot them on the was and even the table we sat down to eat at. I complained to the hotel manager and she told me, it was normal because we were on an island! I couldn’t believe it and had to catch a cab on the resort to eat.
