Be careful when booking an apartment in Serena Village via Booking.com. The man renting one apartment with nice furniture is a tricker. When you book the apartment for USD 40,00 you receive an e-mail that you are supposed to pay first a deposit of USD 100,00 to Rosalba Angelucci Martinez and if you don't read properly you might miss the sentence that they charge 100% service fee on top, so that you end up with USD 80,00. The man is awful when it come to communication. He doesn't let you talk. He doesn't want to understand anything. The worst person I have ever met. I was even ready to pay the tricked money and leave this person and the apartment with my whole luggage in darkness with no new solution than staying there. He pretend that Booking.com is taking the extra service charge which is not true. Unbelievable!!! Awful Also they pretend that there is a beach which doesn't exist.
Stayed in this gated community with lovely condos and pool... close to shopping... get to be with the locals and really get a feel for Domincan Republic 🌴 transportation available free from condos daily to mall and resorts. Very reasonable rate for our 2 bed. Condo.
Recommended for rental: 2 Bedroom Deluxe Apartment (for 8 Guests) is best Chiper option. I have rented Deluxe Apartment on Expedia. Excellent price and nice place ! I love Punta Cana and all Dominican Republic !
Negative points: Bad experience in general. Complicated communication and payment methods. The arrival time is so strict that any issue on the way can result in an extra fee. Positive: Location and outdoor area.
This is the serene village complex located in Punta Cana Veron. where it offers a closed complex with 24 hour security. Which really does not have security 15 days ago. Being in a totally open place with a fence of precarious sheet metal open to valdios sites. A place where offers photos of a beautiful pool with chairs, umbrellas and chairs in excellent condition. In the pictures you can see that the umbrellas do not exist. The chairs are destroyed, the chairs impossible to use. The psycho presents holes in all parts as well as lack of paint everywhere. The complex has 4 floors. Because of this, it has elevators which 20 days ago have problems and do not work. Excellent for spending your holidays going up and down stairs. Not to mention the amount of people who have been trapped and the emergency call system of the assurer do not work. Lack of paint and garbage everywhere is unacceptable. In the barbecue area you can observe electricity cables on the floor, which is all wet. The barbecues destroyed and abandoned. The headlights of lights all fallen. The water and gas service that is contemplated in the common expenses has flaws.
We were really disappointed with the apartment. Extremely expensive for just one night with no electricity included and the worst service. The apartment was really dirty, the sheets were broken and with so much dust that one of our friend had to take a medicine for the asma, it had no towels or soap, the bathroom was gross. We didn't know the electricity was included and we went out for dinner, when we came back WE HAD NO POWER! So we had a terrible night sleep and a really uncomfortable stay.
I have been on three trips to Dominican Republic this year (Feb, July, Sept of 2017). One was with family on vacation and the other two trips were solo business trips. I spend about 3-5 days at a time in Punta Cana always residing at this very lovely place. The apartments come furnish with mostly white furniture. I always stay on the ground floor and near one of the swimming pool areas. The buildings are four floors and have elevators. I really love how on a weekend you finds tenants and guests grilling food, drinking, playing music, and swimming, at the same time I found myself many times in the pool all by myself (just how I like it). The pool edges light up in different color at night fall making the pools look spectacular. I snapped many great photos with my water camera. Let me not forget to mention how awesomely great the cool/warm temperature of the pool is 24/7. I've even taken a dip at 2am. It was so so great! Compared to the expensive hotels, Serena Village is a mini resort that's 15 minutes away from Punta Cana beaches. I always feel safe at Serena Village, as there are always guards roaming around and you have to be approved before being allowed to pass the gated entrance. I hope too one day soon simply buy a unit and live there happily ever after!!!!!!!!! If you find yourself in the area or looking for a resort like stay, I always ask for my favorite rep in the office called Freddy! Outstanding customer service! Its like a second home at this point.
It was an amazing 7 days, great weather, good food, lots of drinks. Our group of 7 had an amazing time. The best part was the staff so helpful and friendly and they always had a smile. Our 1st meeting day one was with Jonathan who is a Transat employee from DR. He gave us all the does and don't so we would be safe and also arranged an amazing excursion for us. This was the best vacation I have had in years. Lots of family's, it was easy to make friends. The only down side was that our rooms were just ok. It you can book for the renovated sections. However we did not stay in our rooms for very long out every day on the beach. We travelled the week of June 19 which was busy however not to busy. We did not wait to long for most of what we wanted. DR is a really nice country felt very safe the entire week and I can't say enough about how nice the staff was they even helped us planned a birthday dinner for a member of our party.
