Junior corner suite at Ambar was spacious and comfortable. Pool had plenty of room, didn’t need to be down super early to get a chair. Beach was within walking distance of Ambar. Entertainment team was amazing! Food (restaurants) was absolutely top notch. We had Hibachi, Mongolian, Steak, Italian, even sports bar wings were phenomenal. Loved our stay and would definitely go back.

Seems like this resort has lost its luster. Definitely not a 5 star . Food needs to be better and more options without paying a premium. I would rate this resort 3.5 stars. Staff are great and rooms can use an upgrade .

Check in process is a nightmare! Told to come back then waited another 1:45 hr. Pool waitstaff was very great. They saved the trip. Marline at the pool was fabulous. Very difficult to get reservations at not very busy restaurants. Made promises to have reservations. Food was ok, Best bar was the one in the front of hotel. Advertised as luxury talked with other guests that said it has gone downhill. This was my second time. Been to many Hyatt properties. This one especially the front desk did Not live up to the reputation.

The resort is beautiful. Check-in was quick and easy. The lobby bar was awesome for service, drinks, and entertainment. The beach setup is great. Pool is beautiful but can be hard to get chairs. Towel service is excellent. The pool bar was ok but drink quality ranged from pour the drink out to perfect. Our room was very clean. It did not have consistent hot water for shower. Wish the TV was a Smart TV so we could have signed into our apps. Sadly limited TV options due to language barrier. The swim up pool is not worth the extra cost because the water is so cold you cannot swim in it. Room service was excellent!! They kept our room clean and were very responsive to our needs. We had private breakfast in room most mornings and ordered late night dinner once. The food was good quality and served warm. Day activities were good. The breakfast buffet was good but we did not enjoy the lunch or dinner buffet. We ate dinner at MEAT, Limbo and Portafino. They were good overall. If you are a foodie, this may not be the place to stay, but definitely is a place to stay for beauty and relaxation.

Clean rooms. We had fantastic stay on the property. The beach was very clean and luckily swimming in the ocean was allowed even though there were red flags around the neighbouring properties. The white party on the beach was amazing. Friendly staff. The property is quite big and requires pick up and drop off rides which they call train rides. We found the on property transportation a nuisance as there were no sidewalks and have to be watchful. In general the drivers wont stop for pedestrians to cross. There were restrictions to explore and check out other areas.

The staff was PHENOMENAL! We had some experiences that would have been rated lower if the staff hadn't been so friendly and outstanding. For example, the ceiling in our room leaked after a rainfall, so much so that the ceiling fell down. The staff however was very responsive and quick to patch it up.

Staff,room etc all wonderful. Beautiful property beautiful ppl. Only issue were things that happened with regards to our room which were never addressed during our stay. Thats a guest service experience issue which the front desk did not address.

Room condition was good. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Food was good. Bed was not comfortable. Spacious but very hard. Pillows are average. Next, we were promised by the hotel manager a swim out room that was going to be in the sun. My wife and I were switched after two days, how are we lost the first two days of that amenity. Next, my wife’s AirPods were stolen by the staff. We know this because we were able to track the AirPods to a location near the resort. Security promised they would do everything they could to look into it, however very little was done. They want us to go to the local police, but we all know that nothing would be done by them. Also, when we arrived at the resort, there was a discrepancy in my price that I paid online and with the resort.. the resort promised to do everything they could to remedy this, however, a slight reduction in price was all the did. I didn’t have much of a choice, but to pay it because you were stuck in a Third World country with not much options at the last minute. It was quite disheartening. Lastly, I have significant sand flea bites on my legs. The resort states they treat for this however I would tell you that the past week at the resort and home have been absolutely miserable. I’m now currently being treated by a physician because it’s that significant. So for the price you pay for the resort, buyer beware.

It was amazing. The staff for the most part was very nice and helpful, they took care of your every need. There were always activities. I miss it already!

Room was very clean and bright. Front desk staff were very nice. Wait staff were not that friendly. It was impossible to use the Bahia Principe app to check in and make reservations beforehand. App and website need an overhaul to fix issues and make more user friendly.
