Overall, we had a great time at this resort. The staff were wonderful. Rooms were clean. Food at the buffet was ok. Main dishes at the restaurants were very good.

The rooms smell to insecticide, the furniture is aged, the food in the reservation restaurants is the same, with a fancy name, as in the buffets. Excellent customer service, very nice and friendly staff.

Our room was infested with bedbugs. I feel like they knew this by comments made prior to putting us in our room. Our room also wasn’t ready on time, as per check in. The food was terrible and servers were not friendly.

This property needs a complete and total make over. Its by no means a 4 star or even a 3 star resort. The food is awful there are no amenities no entertainment buffet is a joke rooms are so outdated. Thankfully was refunded and moved hotels asap.

Overall our stay at Iberostar Punta Cana was ok. The food was good, alcohol choices were very limited and quality of ALL drinks was poor: diluted with water. Rooms (we had to switch our room) were severely dated: rusty bath tabs, clogged drain, tv's were not working, busted tiles and no control over the room temperature. Quality of the swimming pool and outside facilities was good. Staff was friendly and tried to help. I would not return back or recommend that hotel to my friends.

I chose Iberostar for the good reviews and because it looked kid friendly, which it was! I have 2 sons, 6 & 2 and they were well loved by many of the staff that would just be walking by. Upon arrival we were greeted promptly. Our room was ready immediately but it was warm, and the only control you have is whether you want it high or low, no temp control. Outlets were falling out of the walls (not safe), tiles on the floor were chipped, but room was ALWAYS clean. Buffet was mediocre. My husband got food poisoning which kept him in bed for 2 entire days. AC never worked right so we had to switch rooms 2 days in which was a pain, but at least that AC worked right. No room service. Took forever to get new sheets for the pullout bed in our transferred room. The outside was SPECTACULAR! Pool was warm and clean, grounds were clean, beaches were immaculate, and there were always chairs available at the pool. Chairs at the beach are impossible to get unless you reserve them first thing in the AM. Pool is great for kids. it’s a huge walk out ramp so even my toddler had a lot of playing space where he could stand on his own and play. Weather was perfect. I can only speak for Maria Bonita Mexican Restaurant & Star Rock American Restaurant but both were great. DON’T EAT THE PORK AT THE BUFFET unless you want food poisoning. Happened on another trip here 8 years ago also. Overall, this resort needs a lot of love to the rooms and buffet to make it better. Probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Most of the restaurants are open air, the buffets are away from the beach and are very hot. We aren’t used to eating in 85F with 85% humidity. The To get your restaurant reservations, you have to deal with JJ. They probably won’t have a lot of openings, so get used to the buffets. JJ will annoy you every day to go to the time share pitch they expect every guest to waste a couple of hours on. We hated going to the lobby bar because of him. The next to last day we were there they decided to paint our room, we almost couldn’t stand the fumes. We had to leave the doors open for a fee hours to try and air it out.
