Beautiful looking facility, well maintained. The Fun Team staff was excellent and engaging. I loved them all. Gym was too small, you ran out of towels almost daily in the gym (this is unacceptable). It was very difficult to find an open chair at the beach under the umbrellas. You need more chairs. You should have organized water sports with the Fun Team. It was not until the last day that I stumbled upon the water equipment. Why is this not announced to guests as an available option? The Daily itenary should be placed under our room door every night for the next day. We should not have to walk to the lobby to get one. The drinks are awful --too sweet and barely any alcohol in them. The restaurant food was not very good. ALL of the meats in all the restaurants were over cooked and dry. I would NOT go back to Hilton La Romana.

Buffet was a little better quality food and more options. Usually at all inclusives the restaurants have the better food. Not the case here. We had “ Premium“ status but in my opinion, not worth it. The food at the Grill for “premium guest” was not worth it. We would eat at the Grill and then found ourselves going to the buffet to eat. All in all, it was a beautiful resort, with hit or miss services. This would be our 20th trip to the Caribbean (Mexico, curaçao Aruba,Turks, Bahamas) 3rd trip back to DR just to reference my experiences. I would not return to this resort! Both my husband and I came home with a stomach virus. He had to go to ER the night we came back home. First time ever having a stomach virus due to the food at a resort. Lack of sanitation was clearly visible.

This system is monitored by international agencies and ensures that the correct food handling procedures are in place. Tests for water, food and food preparation areas are taken on a regular basis to support this program. Food service safety inspections are also done weekly by department supervisors. We strongly feel we are providing a safe and hygienic gastronomical experience.
