The staff was great. We unfortunately got what we paid for staying in (apparently) the oldest section of the resort. Our bed was hard as boards - I swear, I asked my new husband the first night if we should just fly home the next day. The rooms need to be completely redone honestly. The buffet was disappointing, and there were long stretches of time when you couldn't get food anywhere (and my husband is hypoglycemic). And the food at "snack bars" was awful. We enjoyed most of the restaurants though! And were thoroughly entertained in our adults only pool area. Would have been nice to have a hot tub or two, and that were usable in the evening. The "jacuzzi" was just a giant bubbles pool I did not understand the purpose of. Overall - mixed experience.

The staff was so friendly and polite, room was bigger that I had expected and was very clean. Pool areas were very nice as well as all the different bars and lobby’s. The whole property is amazing. I really couldn’t have asked for more considering the price. My favorite part was all the different restaurants, food was always delicious and the buildings were beautiful. 10/10 would stay here again

Worst hotel ever. Check in staff was not very warm and friendly. The room had no hot water in the shower for 3/4 nights we stayed. I requested help through the app and also by calling the front desk but they will always show up at least an hour after the call. We were there since noon but they only provided us a room at 3 pm. They were very pushy about the check out time being at noon. Lastly, they charged me $5 for in-room breakfast service in spite of this being an all-inclusive resort. Amenities were also lackluster. Been to much better all-inclusive resorts. Never staying at this Bahia Principe or any other Bahia properties again.

The rooms are outdated, and some have mold. The staff is very slow. Luisa at guest services was amazing and help accommodate us and upgrade us to a more luxurious hotel on property. The food is awful as well. Be prepared to wait an hour or more for your dinner to come out. Reservations are hard to get and the restaurants are not full as they say.

We liked the pool area and the bars. You must ask for a named brand alcohol or they will give you the bottom shelf junk. We were disappointed with the availability of the on site restaurants, as they were full at every time on every night, so we would have to constantly watch the app for cancellations. We did get in 3 nights out of 7 to a few, but only to find out that they only fill approx 1/3 of the tables and there were many that were left empty. We liked the buffet and you don't need reservations for that. The bed's mattress was so hard, it was difficult to sleep on, plus they only give you a sheet so we barely used the air conditioning. Also, our room fridge was not cold so we did not drink the beer provided. We did a fun zipline and 4-wheeler excursion booked thru the resort. The nightly entertainment was either just dj music or karaoke. It was "ok" but I wouldn't go back there.

Please know what you are booking. The Aquamarine is a very average in itself. The rooms are in poor shape. We had 6 rooms for 13 people from ages 21 to 81 and we had only one room without a problem when we checked in. Stains on the sheets in one all the way up to a ceiling sagging and full of water from the above room (and no they did not give us a new room). Beds only had sheets with a small blanket in the closet. The beds were like rocks and we had to request a topper just to be able to sleep. This was a complaint from all 13 of us. You do not have access to other pools/areas/restaurants or even beach areas unless you have a certain colored wristband. We were turned away from multiple places and were even told we couldn’t walk thru a pool area with our regular clothes on because our bands were not for that area. It was extremely frustrating and embarrassing. You don’t get this information when you arrive and the ads for the Bahia make it look like you have all these options. With Aquamarine you r limited. With all that being said, the property is absolutely beautiful and if you are staying in one of the more luxury parts of the resort, you’ll have access to all of the restaurants and pools. The grounds are gorgeous and the food is amazing!
