8/10 Good

This review is based on our stay in May 2026 at Bahia Principe Luxury Aquamarine.
Overall, we had a nice time. There are definitely better all-inclusive resorts out there, but there are worse too. For the price, this one wasn’t bad.
The food was about what we expected. The restaurants were much better than the buffet. Our favorite was Nomad, the Mongolian restaurant. The pool and staff were both good. Having burgers/hot dogs by the pool was convenient, even if they weren’t amazing. Daily international food options were also nice. Entertainment was better than expected, and having access to all the Bahia resorts was a big plus.
The rooms are dated and could use updating. The shower water constantly shifted between scalding hot and cold. Also, the beds only have two sheets — no blanket or comforter. The AC gets the room very cold, so request a blanket immediately when you arrive.
A few things we wish we knew beforehand:
• Many guests experienced some level of “Montezuma’s Revenge,” even while being careful. Bring your own TP, theirs ain’t it and you’ll need it.
• The train system between resorts is easy once figured out, but nobody really explained it.
• The app isn’t very helpful, especially for directions.
• Restaurant reservations are still needed, even if the restaurant isn’t full.
• Cheap tumblers for the pool can be found in the little shopping village near the casino.
Overall, we enjoyed the trip and felt it was decent value for the money.
