This was my second time staying at this hotel. the price is ok, the location is a little far from the nightlife and the beach was not so good. apart from that it´s a family hotel where you can stay all day and will have fun. the food is good, same as drinks.

Overall, we were satisfied with the hotel. You get exactly what you pay for - a decent vacation on a budget. Let me break it down by category: Location: It is about 25-35 minutes away from the airport and overall is a smooth ride. If you are trying to get to PV for any attractions like Mercada, it is much longer and with moderate traffic takes about 40-50 minutes. On a side note, even though it has nothing to do with a hotel, most taxis do not have a properly working air conditioner, and the ride becomes a bit unbearable. So if you do need one, make sure to ask. Food selection: Food selection was decent and most days you can find something you like to satisfy your taste buds. We have tried all the specialty restaurants and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food. Therefore, it is worth it to get up at 7 am to make that reservation (you can make all the reservations for the week on the same day). Even though we have had better selection and quality of food at other hotels in PV I would give it a solid rating of 4/5. Beverage selection: Now that was a bit of a let down. First, there were no mini-bars at the room. In addition, most of the selection for drinks was pretty rudimentary with only 2 beers on tap, no champagne, and the only cocktails you could seem to order were with tequila or vodka. However, all-in-all you can stay happy enough with their selection. Bars do close at or around 1 am so if you like to party all night, you are in for a little bit of a let down. Rooms: Not bad - at the very least they are air conditioned (unlike the rest of the property). The beds were hard (like most hotels in PV) and I would recommend bringing your own pillow. In addition, the hotel only provides bars of soap - no shampoo or gels. Therefore, bring your own. Grounds: This hotel is quite vast and in the first 2 days or so a bit disorienting. However, it is greatly maintained with lots of pools, bars, restaurants and other activities. Entertainment: The Entertainment team was top notch - the performances were not only throughout the day but especially good at night. In my opinion they were great. Staff: Everyone was friendly and courteous. Practically anything you ask for was available. In addition, if you tip well the world becomes full of endless possibilities. Other Guests: This a great hotel that is comprised mostly of people from South America - US and Canadians were a visual minority. However, that didn't affect our trip in any way - after all, after 3 or 4 shots of tequila we all speak the same language apparently.

it was a very good experience the only problem no wi fi in the room after all I like my stay very good staff very friendly

My husband and I called our stay a cruise on land. The property is beautiful, the staff are so friendly and helpful. You have everything available that you need. The food however is so,so at the buffets. The food at the specialty restaurants is a lot better. Pool 5 and block 5 are very quiet. Pool 5 is adults only which was very nice. The bartender at pool 5 named Abel is awesome.

We love staying in Bucerias and Royal Decameron is a great all-inclusive resort. Within walking distance to markets and restaurants.

Let us just say I havent been told no so many times since I was 5 years old at the supermarket with my mother. First off the food was terrible as far as seafood goes you you better not be hoping for crab you will here "NO" shrimp "NO" lobster "NOOO" in order to book reservation's for one of the restaurants you need to be up by 6:30am waiting in line to get a number and then wait till 8:00am before they start calling the numbers to book your reservation I guess using the telephone in your room to do this is far to Hi Tech and speaking of Hi Tech I booked an excursion for which I needed to print up the ticket I was once again told "NO" we dont do that from the front desk person who didnt know that large square thing sitting on the desk between us was indeed an epson all in one printer. When I asked why there wasnt any shampoo in my room I was told "NO" we dont do that. I asked why dont I have a stocked mini fridge in my room after all this is an all inclusive resort I was told "NO" we dont do that. When I wanted to go for a swim in the evening I was told "NO" we dont do that they close the pools at 7:00pm the hot tub's are just cold bubble pool's. There was a long list of "NO'S" I had planned to share with you but I think you get the idea.

This hotel is comprised of about 50% Mexican people and is located minutes away from other small villages, giving you a great Mexican experience. The resort is just perfect for our needs. The hotel offers free bikes and water sports. The staff is very friendly and are always busy ensuring the resort is kept neat and clean. We have stayed here many times and will go back many times more.

wife & I for 7 days. 1st time here; 7th A/I in MX. clean/nice landscaping; rooms simple; basic. safe won't fit a full size lap top. iPAD: stand on end to get it to fit. $273 pesos to rent for 7 days. beds a little hard; no ceiling fan: A/C runs 24/7. stayed in block 3-ocean view from balcony. beach chairs hard: can get an inflatable raft for $6.00 at pharmacy across the street. we took bar chairs w/cushions from beach bar. beach is OK: the Caribbean it isn't. cannot even see your feet in the water: the way it is of all beaches in PV for most part. value: flew from Denver: $1500 for both; non-stop & with trip ins. great staff :) Wi-Fi in bar area's only. food good-omelette & waffle stations for breakfast. ate at all al a carte's except. JAP-JAP. go around 9A to the dinner reservation desk-block 4 lobby. should be able to get a reservation. can reserve for that night & the next. Italian only one with A/C. others open; big umbrella's & ceiling fans. fun time; won't be back as many other places to go to. seems like a family-type resort; although many couples & singles.

My husband and I booked this hotel for a little getaway. We enjoyed every minute of it. The food was good, the rooms were clean, and the staff was there to please you! I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a nice vacation at a decent price!!

I reserved the hotel for my parents, and they said it was Amazing, they were expecting better drinks but everything else was really good

I had read the reviews and made my decision based on them, did not expect any more of what I was buying a 3 star and that is exactly what you get. My family had a great time and would definetely come back

We had a great time with the family. Locations is nice and the beach is quite.

This was our first time to the Royal Decameron and it definetly did not disappoint! The hotel is a little outdated but has basically everything you need except Shamoo/Conditioner and face cloths. The staff is absolutely amazing and the complex is always buzzing with a variety of activities. The food is decent and there are plenty of "dining options" between the buffets, a la carte restaurants, and snack bars you don't go hungry. If you would like to make reservations to the a la carte restaurants you must be up between 730-8 am in the morning to make reservations for that day and the next. I definetly recommend the italian restaurant as it is worth it. All around awesome experience and this hotel and I look forward to going back!!!

Location good, 15 minutes north of Airport, just north of Nuevo Puerto Vallarta. 8-day stay, bottom line, good price, clean, secure, honest staff. That said, not perfect. I always had the feeling they were cutting costs. For example, after I first checked in, asked for extra bottle of complementary water, denied (not a big deal). In my other travels, never had a denial. The rooms are okay, very basic, simple, old TVs. The free wifi connection is slow (Many Starbucks around town solved this problem). And, most importantly for me, the food. The buffet food was Okay, but really not great. The restaurants (needed pre-reservations) were better, the Japanese being the best, the Brazilian second. The Italian is overrated, but the most popular. Now, the staff overall was great. I lost two items, at two different times, both returned at security station, quite amazing, and unexpected (by me) in this day. Don't lose the hotel room key, cost me about $25 and wait time. I had a rental car, parking there was secure, easy access. Yes, bottom line, I would stay again. However, I am going to pay more and get something in Nuevo Puerto Vallarta. I have a place in mind. Note: Don't stay for any of the 90 minute presentations, you will regret it. Let me explain. First, they are way longer than 90 mins, and if promised 90 min, but always go longer, what is to be expected of their other promises and package deals? And, finally when you first arrive at airport, don't talk to those hotel package vendors, who appear to want to help, but are trouble.

We stayed at this resort for 11 days for Christmas 2013! Was our first time in Mexico and at this resort and had a very good experience at this all-inclusive! Food was very good especially the Italian a la carte which we ate at 3 times it was so good! Buffets have a wide variety of foods to choose from so there is lots of good choices! Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and delicious! Very good service! Our room was kept very clean and no bugs! The employees work very hard to keep this resort looking good and are always cleaning and working hard to keep it well maintained! Beachfront has lots of shade umbrellas and we had no trouble finding a lounger when we needed it! My kids were never bored as there are many activities from tennis ,ceramic painting, kayaking, zumba, yoga etc! Even Spanish lessons! Entertainment was very good with stage performances every night in the outdoor theatre! Loved the karaoke nights! The resort is situated off the Bay of Banderas with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean,Sierra Madres mountains, Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta! The resort is at the entrance of the town with about a 15 min walk to the centre of the town which I found charming with all it's small shops and Spanish style homes with beautiful tropical shrubs around them! The only things we thought that could be improved was the air conditioner which is the older type and noisy also hard to regulate the temperature! We also think maps of Puerto Vallarta should be available for people on day trips ! There is a good public bus system that is in walking distance to the main road and very reasonable! Taxis are much more ! Overall we had a great time and our family enjoyed their Christmas vacation! Very good value for the price and would love to return!

Ok, been to better but also to far worse places. had a problem to resolve with missing hotel wrist band ( lost one accidentally during diving) never resolved at checkout - manager who was to supposed to make a decision - pay or no pay penalty - never show up. lacks 24 hr open bar and snack bar for hotel this size and with so many young visitors - come on! we are on vacation, we could use a beer and hot dog at 4 or 5 in the morning!!! But after all not a bad retreat. could use some improvements, as above.....

My husband and I went to Mexico for the first time and chose this resort for it's good price and that it is all-inclusive. The resort was very beautiful, clean and the staff is phenomenal. The swimming pools close too early for my taste and the food is pretty good, for buffet style. In order to eat at one of their sit-down restaurants you have to be downstairs to make reservations pretty early. The nice thing is you can make two nights reservations in a row. The food at the buffet and the restaurants are pretty equivalent, so you won't miss much if you chose buffet.

We have a timeshare in PV, but stayed here do to more than just us going. FOOD: BORING!!! Buffets were not good. We ate at the Thai place one night and it was ok. Would not eat there again. Snack bar with hamburgers and hotdogs were the best thing there to eat. ROOMS: they were nice and clean. Our AC worked great. Friends not as well. You have to rent the safe most places you don't. Kind of a bummer. POOLS: They had nice pools only bad part is they close at 6:00. They have the adult only pool that will stay open until 8 but you can't play and have fun. You must be quiet in there. We were asked to leave for laughing and have a good time. OVERALL: I would not go back. It was nice and we had fun but just use to getting more.

This is a very good all-inclusive package for the price. It has some shortcomings - limited drink selection, no drinks that require garnishes like mojitos, martinis, cosmopolatins, and only low-end brands. Also, no toilet amenities in the bathrooms, such as shampoo and tissues. The ala carte restaurants are nothing special. If you can live with these, you'll have a great time. Staff is first-rate, rooms are kept very clean, the location in Bucerias is great, and food is more than adequate. It caters to Mexicans - at least 90% while we were there - and Canadians. We never met a USA couple in 10 days. It definitely feels like Mexico, and that is why we liked it so much. You can get lots of practice on your Spanish language skills if you want to. We will absolutely be going back soon!
