Amazing hotel for an affordable price. The staff is always there to help you, the beach is just around the corner and everything looks super neat. The restaurant serves delicious and authentic Filipino food.
This is our first time in Puerto Princesa, the staff are nice and accommodating. We stayed in Microtel for 4 nights, their free transportation from Airport to Hotel and vice versa is helpful since we arrived at Puerto Princesa at night. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this hotel.
The front liners staff, needs more training..... What would we say, they like trainees the way they act "nga nga" and peg every time you asked a question.. though we know there's a room for improvement...
Stayed for a couple of days with my family. Please see review below... PROS: - Vigilant security: always observing, roving, manning posts, well armed amd ready. - Courteous and reponsive staff. - Wonderfully secluded and quiet location in the off season. - Family / kid friendly (Kids' Menu, swing / slide set in mini-playground by the pool area). - Good food and drink. Hearty buffet breakfast and dinner selection. The Mojito was good. Bar seemed well stocked with good liquor selection. - Efficient check-in. - Our VERY early checkout had to make staff "go the extra mile," but worked out well inspite of our pre-ordered packed breakfast delay. - Clean lobby (including furnishings). Staff do a GREAT job of keeping the common area free of sand!!! - You are literally steps away from the ocean once the daily morning tide comes in. - Very clean beddings / sheets. - Room had NO "funny" odors (due to mold, mildew or improper sanitation. - International clientele. CONS: - Dust balls / bunnies under the beds! Disappointing. Housekeeping Supervisor / Manager needs to pay more attention. - The Restaurant Manager / Supervisor seemed always grumpy / sour. Her mind seemed to be on her personal problems rather than the diners. Maybe her pregnancy has something to do with it; I wish her the best. - The hot breakfast buffet was slightly cool and NOT warmed to proper temperature (to say the least); possible health issue here. - Pesky flies in the restaurant dining area; not overwheling, but IS a sanitation issue. --- Some were wantonly landing on the displayed fruits, vegetables, breads. I observed a juvenile fly land and get stuck in some orange(?) marmalade. Needless to say, we did not eat anything that was uncovered at the buffet serving area. Really disgusting. EFFORT NEEDS TO BE MADE TO CONTROL FLIES. I saw no fly control devices / traps in dining area. MICROTEL, please don't take your past accolades for granted; maintain or raise the bar.
We stayed in this hotel for two nights during our trip to the Philippines. It has been by far the best hotel we stayed. It has everything that we needed including swimming pool, restaurant, and a very secluded beach. We were pretty much the only one in the beach during the day. We rented a kayak and snorkeled the whole day. We saw all kinds of sea life, from exotic fish to jellyfish. This is a hidden gem in Puerto Princesa. The staff has been fantastic. They arraigned everything for us, from shuttle service to El Nido, underground river tours and airport shuttle pickups. The only regrets is we only stayed for two days, we could have easily stayed for a week here. Thank you Microtel and hope to stay here again!
I booked and stayed for two days, three nights as I wanted to escape the noise of Manila City on a long business trip The airport pick up was easy and quick. The road into the hotel is ok up to about 2km from the entrance where it’s close to impassable !! But the driver did a good job but it wasn’t a great experience ! The hotel is clean and comfortable and as a solo traveller I felt safe and welcomed. I spent my two days enjoying the lovely clean pool, plenty of comfortable sunbeds and hammocks and really just having some quiet time It was VERY calm and VERY quiet. for some people this maybe too quiet ! But perfect for a relaxed couple of days The view to the sea is stunning and at Low tide you can walk out and enjoy stunning views Really great value for money
The hotel is very secluded. It is 15 minutes from the main road. You better have everything you need by the time you get to the hotel since there are no convenience stores near the place. You will pass by a dirt road to get to the hotel. The hotel itself is well maintained. Very clean and serene. Breakfast is very good. Rooms are big but you have to request for amenities such as slippers, shampoo, soap etc. If you do not ask, they will not provide you one. There is an all purpose bath gel in the bathroom if you don't request for separate amenities. They sell instant snacks at the lobby. The restaurant closes at 10pm so if ou arrive later than that, better bring food in case you get hungry. Massage services also end at 10pm. I would stay here again if i am in a big group. But if it were only a few people, i would find other places near the main road for convenience.
Wonderful Hotel that sits unassumingly in a fantastic location. While walking through the front door, one does not expect to encounter such a beautiful, clean and quiet location on the shore. The hotel itself is bit far away from all the hustle bustle of the city traffic and noise. No neighboring hotel / accommodation so you are not sharing the beach swim area with hundred other people and especially there are NO vendors walking along the beach asking you to buy things. Fantastic location with a nice pool. Sleep - Good. Mattress and Pillows provided were comfy, clean and fresh. AC works great combined with a ceiling fan. Cleanliness - Special mention goes to all the house keeping staff for their great work. Everyday the rooms were made up and looked spic & span. Only downside is that it would be good is all bathroom amenities are provided such as shower cap, shaver, shampoo, etc. Transport - Hotel provides free shuttle to & fro to Airport and Robinsons Mall at scheduled times and you have to notify reception if you are planning to avail this service. To get to the city centre, you need to hire a motorized tricycle from Robinsons Mall which is very cheap. Food - Buffet breakfast is not so great. Items are very limited for a hotel of this kind. Lunch & Dinner - Al a la carte items were great and tasty. Staff can setup a table on the sands if requested. Staff - Very friendly, Smiling, Approachable and Helpful. Special mention to Zaihra at the reception. Overall - I would highly recommend for a peaceful and relaxing stay.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere in a great location. Beautiful pool and very friendly, helpful staff. The courtesy shuttle into town and to the airport was a great service. The neighboring bar and facilities were also very accessible and friendly. Wish we could have stayed longer.
My wastecans are full but no one in the cleaners knock at my door to get it. They knock when im about to leave. The driver of the shuttle arrives late when im the passenger for airport 30 minutes before my flight makes me worried good thing my flight is delayed. The swimming pool attires is not being followed by guests and nobody of the staff stopped it.
