Great view, clean room, good breakfast, free parking,
Comfortable enjoyable stay at Valero, good complementary breakfast I might add as well as friendly helpful staff
I like the location of the property which is close to the beach and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
This is my third time at Velero. I like the convenience of the location. The beach at The hotel is kind of rocky, but that’s not a problem because you can walk over to the public beach which is beautiful. The food is not pricey. Since I was traveling with family members that were not able to climb high floors, I asked in advance for a first or second floor facility and they sent us to the third floor. The beach is not convenient for people with disabilities because you have to go down to the beach and there is only a temporary step that is kind of high. The pool area is beautiful and spacious.
Need early check in time, 3PM check in time is too late
Great resort. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Nice location.
The location of this resort is beautiful. I thought all of the staff members were pleasant and helped when needed. It was very quiet when I went (Memorial Day weekend), except there was construction over my room. I didn't switch because I often left the resort, but not sure why they put me in that room when they were working overhead. Anyway, I would give it a strong 4 out of 5.
A local told me that Velero is actually a condominium run as a hotel, and some of the condo owners live there full or part time. That may be why it had a quiet, homey feel. The entrance is tucked away in what looks like a large alley. But once you get in the gate, the place is a refreshing wave of breezy gardened walkways, spiral staircases, and an open-air lobby that looks out at the lawn, pool, and ocean. The pool was crystal blue and lightly surrounded by lounge beds and patio tables. The restaurant was on the ocean and the food and service were excellent. Some construction was going on while they rebuilt the sea wall, but that was more interesting than disturbing. The view across Cabarete bay was great, and so is the sunset. The room was cute and comfortable, with a lovely little desk and patio. To get to a nearby restaurant, we took a super-cool walk through the garden grounds of nearby hotels. It's really a nice place to be.
We are arrived and were pleasantly welcomed by Victor the receptionist. He thoroughly explained the hotel, pool, and breakfast. He was very pleasant and provided me with my key. Parking is available in the side of the hotel. The bell boy helps with the bags. Our room was on a 3rd floor and the room view was spectacular. The room was very clean and the bed was super comfy. The bathroom was awesome, huge and modern. The room had a balcony with a view of the infinity pool and beach. This hotel is located on the quite side which I loved. You can walk on the beach to reach Oasis or other restaurants which are far enough not to hear the noise but close enough to walk. We had a tour in the morning before check out time. I notified Victor I was going on my tour just in case things got delayed before I had to checkout. Victor was very understanding and stated that it was ok if I was a little late. Of course we are on island time and it did. Checkout was speedy. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.
