We were a group of 6 ladies travelling together we had 2 of the 2 bed units and 1 1 bed unit. The 2 bedroom ones were fabulous and very spacious, it was lovely for each of us to have our own bedroom and bathroom. We had been worried about no ac but didn’t miss it and preferred to have the fresh air and no noise. Was great to have full kitchen and laundry facilities too. Tommy Bahama Beach gear was free of charge so a good bonus. This was our groups favourite accomodation of our holiday we stayed in 5 different lots.
Who knew this could be so much fun. We departed in our golf carts about 5 and spent the next two hours touring various holes, the views, the bamboo forest, the plumeria grove, and more! The golf pro, Tom, was fun, informative, and went the extra mile to make us have a good time. In addition to the views, this golf course is amazingly beautiful. I’m not sure how you could concentrate on golf when at every turn the beauty is stunning!
We loved staying at Makai Club. We especially appreciated how easy it was to check out beach chairs/umbrellas (free) and to use the provided cooler for the beach. Staff was very friendly & the grounds & condo were beautiful!
The photos I saw in websites before booking 4 nights stay here in feb don't quite do the justice. The 2 bedroom cottage we stayed in was very spacious and well kept. The bedrooms were big with TV in each room with ensuite in both. The master bedroom's ensuite was specially large and comfy with dual shower. Both bedrooms had king beds and we ended up just using one bedroom for sleeping with 2 kids. The terrace was big and great for relaxing in the evening. The staffs were super friendly and very accommodative - which made out stay there even more memorable. For what we paid, its hard to find a fault !
We rented a 2 bedroom cottage. It was very spacious and great for the 5 of us. Grounds and our cottage were well kept. Also very quiet and peaceful. Staff was friendly and attentive. Only very minor downside is that is a bit of a drive to about 90% of Kauai's attractions as it is located on the northeast corner of the island. It did not deter from the stay. Would consider staying there again on a future visit. Roosters wake you up in the morning but that was ok and part of the experience.
We had a really wonderful time at the Makai Club - Stayed for 8 days and found the place clean and very roomy and resort management to be extremely helpful, informative and courteous -Kitchen was well stocked with accessories, pots, pans containers, cooler for beach - although not the highest end accommodations, a little close to neighbors and the pool is small - but we really didn't need the big fancy pool, mostly quiet neighbors, and the view of the golf course was very nice - we had a small problem with the hot water BUT they responded immediately fixed within half hour and followed up to make sure all was ok - our unit had several stairs to walk up and the other properties looked to be terraced so wheelchair, handicapped, elderly or baby carriages may want to request units that are more accessible - but more than fine for us and our teen kids - We loved that it is around to corner to a shopping area, supermarket and restaurants in Princeville - also the concierge folks, Caridyn and Val, helped plan our entire week - really excellent tips and easy to reserve and book with them. We had activities with teenagers - boat ride up the Napali coast (Captain Andy's), Air ventures (well worth it but take motion sick pills beforehand - Bonine the night before and day of your trip - you'll need it), luau, fire show, taro farm tour (great for the kids and very hands on), zip line (oh so fun on the former sugar plantation and wish we had time for tubing there but maybe next time), beach (anini very calm) , golf (many beautiful public course options), shopping (Kapaa and Poipu were my favorites for shops) - all great locations and entertainment! This resort is to the far North - about an hour drive from the airport and it is a drive if you want to go to certain other areas of the island that are popular but I found Hanalei Bay / Princeville to be most quaint, beautiful and less congested than some of the other resort areas South and west we visited - Also all the beach chairs, boogie boards and bikes were free to use and my husband was able to rent Callaway clubs from them for $45 - I would stay there again - it was a wonderful trip and nice place for us. - Also a reminder that there is no A/C which is standard in many places there even though temps peaked around 80-85 all week, it was not a problem for us - windows all screens - it was really breezy and comfortable for us and most rooms have ceiling fans - Hope that helps!
Stunning views at Princeville. Able to see several falls from lounging area and pool side. Welcoming staff and good treats - Mai This, ice cream, cheese, chips and crackers. Close to Foodland and Hanalei and same area as Princeville Resort (only 5 star accommodation. Food and gas prices similar to CA.
Great location, close to various beaches and amenities, easy to get around whether by rental or local taxi. Bicycle to ice cream store and around golf course. Friendly staff, very nice grounds, nice pool and hot tub. Various rental equipment, including boogy boards, snorkeling equipment, and occasionally free beach umbrellas and chairs. Free games to take and return.
We were a party of 10 and we stayed at two bungalows and it wad everything we thought it would be. The installations were fully equipped and very quiet. Not sure about the prize cause someone else payed
Staff were really nice and helpful. We stayed on the ground floor and you could hear every thing that went on in the unit above us......every foot step. Also, the place needs to be maintained better i.e. challenges with cable, dryer, etc.
