What a gem of a hotel. It looks plain on the outside and in need of a wow factor when pulling up to the property, but the interior and the great service more then makes up for it. The check in was smooth and the breakfast was great. You could tell that it wasn't the typical crap food all other hotels serve for the free hot breakfast. Breakfast lady was so friendly and she turned out to be the owner. Not too many places I have stayed at where the owner is there at 7am on a Saturday morning. We look forward to returning to this hotel next time we are in Prince Albert, SK
This was a great hotel. I stayed for 2 nights on a business trip and I found the hotel room to be very clean and up to date. The hotel itself is a little dated, but they've certainly focused on updating the rooms. The only complaints I had (small ones) were that I found the pillows a little too soft for me (I'm a side sleeper) and they don't have any other options. They're all soft. I also found the room to be very hot. But it was really hot outside and I run fairly warm at night. They also wrap the duvet in 2 sheets but don't give an actual sheet for the bed so it's either duvet or no covers at all. So you may want to bring your own pillow and your lightest pjs. The staff are all very friendly and tried to help where they could with the pillows and a/c, even though there wasn't anything they could really do.
We stayed in room 400, and it was very nice. We were on the "pet friendly floor" because we were traveling with a small dog. The hotel charges $25 per animal plus a $200 deposit. I wish there was a grassy area outside for pets. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. The hotel is old and that's obvious but it looks like they've tried hard to keep it clean and add modern upgrades here and there. I hope they change the way the complimentary breakfast is served because customers only have 4 options, no substitutions allowed. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. Good stay overall.
We stayed here on a cross Canada trip. The rooms have been partially renovated and looked very nice. The bathrooms have not been done yet and need some work. Otherwise the rooms are clean and I liked the restricted entry to the elevators. The breakfast in the morning was good with a variety of choices.
Our family travelled from all over Canada and a sister as well from Germany for our nieces wedding this past weekend. There were 20+ people from our family staying at the hotel. Shaun, Front Desk Manager; was a rock star! He looked after everything for us; he went up and beyond the call to make sure every concern was addressed, we were granted early check in.. the list goes on. My wife and I had a king suite and it was superb. The room was clean, spacious, great bed and pillows, fridge, microwave, everything we needed. The hotel was quiet except when we came back from the wedding reception, lol! I agree with a previous review that the hotel isn't very attractive from the outside but once inside it was a great place for our few days. One criticism; our reservation came with a free breakfast. The quality of food was less than average but served with a smile. Two mornings without bacon left some puzzled looks on some of our group but we survived. Definitely will recommend this hotel as a place to check out.
Was disappointed upon arrival and then once I got inside I was impressed. It lacks street appeal. But once inside the restaurant was a culinary masterpiece. The rooms were modern and clean and the staff was great.
We just stayed here for our sons volleyball tournament. The room was quite small and bathroom although clean was bare minimum for space. The shower was an adventure between icy cold and hot water blasts. The front desk guy was not hospitable, he filled the chair I guess. The ' continental breakfast' was the worst we have ever encountered. They had a very small menu with sit down service And the wait was very long. An example of one of your choices was yogurt and banana with either a cup of coffee or juice ( not both)! I say don't even bother if going to be that cheap. Offer restaurant instead and lower your hotel prices to suit. It did have a pool, which looked just adequate and nothing special. Tons of parking behind the hotel and decent location.
So, my first visit was a bit up and down. They got their act together. Good Rooms and Great Food. Check out the Boreal Bistro. Ask for a free upgrade. They have lots of suites. I did not like the entrance.
Recently stayed at the Quality Hotel, checked in on Saturday. They had booked out our entire floor to a hockey team. The hotel staff was not helpful when the kids started running up and down the hall. But to make matters worse they allowed the parents to stay up until 1 am and drink in the halls. The next day we were moved to a different room, at least this was a suite with two beds as the first had one bed with a pull out couch. On the Tuesday they decided to have a fire drill for three hours while my room mate and I tried to sleep. Went downstairs for the free breakfast at the Bistro, not very fulfilling. It only consisted of a very small orange juice, extremely salty bacon and two pancakes. But for free I guess it could be worse. All in all a terrible stay in a run down hotel that hasn't had an update in 20 years. Will not be returning.
I will have to say customer service was awful and rude. We booked using our mobile phone and realized our booking error. The clerk did not want to work with us. We did book a suite and could've easily worked with us instead forwarded us to call Expedia. This was the run around and were travelling with two little children in a wet snowstorm. Quality stands for having a pleasant experience and this was not respectful. This was 9pm at night and now charged for a room that we didn't even see. After reading some other reviews after the fact, I won't return to this hotel again and I'm not recommending this place to anyone.
