The Good: This is a perfectly adequate hotel for a short trip. The rooms are clean and tidy, and it's close to tram stops which will connect you to major tourist sites (though there are stops throughout the city and virtually any Prague hotel is likely to be close to one too). A typical continental breakfast is available each morning until 10. The Bad: The biggest problem, and the reason I gave it two rather than three stars, was that the hotel had made a mistake and forgotten to charge my card after I booked online (despite sending me a receipt of payment), and When I politely questioned the receptionist when she asked me for money as I checked out, she was not only unapologetic but visibly irritated. This went beyond standard Czech bluntness (which I actually like and find refreshing) and came across as really rude. In addition, my girlfriend and I went for the deluxe room, which was supposed to be large but was in my experience smaller than your average double room in a hotel. If you do decide to come here, I'd strongly advise you go for a standard room, which I suspect is exactly the same size.
We stayed here for 4 nights, the room was nice and clean, however a little smaller than we anticipated after looking at photos. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of choice at breakfast but sometimes food was cold.
This hotel is perfect for your stay in Prague.. the staff are very friendly, the rooms very clean ,tidy but small...smalls fine with me tho once it's clean and has everything u need which it had including a safe,tv ,mini fridge with cheap beer, water, soda and wine.. breakfast had a huge range of breads, meats fruit and hot food like eggs and sausage ....the tram stop is two min walk down hill and takes less than ten mins to the main square..I can't express enough to buy a ticket at hotel reception for the tram..my girlfriend and I didn't as we thought they could be bought at the stop but they couldn't and we jumped on...we eventually got stopped for a ticket and had to pay a fine of 800kr (35 euro each)..the train staff don't wanna hear any excuses or bs.. they just want your money so they won't take it easy on u.. first day in Prague or last ur ment to know the system.. ticket must be scanned at the machine or its still not valid and a fine will be handed out even with a ticket.. they took our passports until we decided to pay which eventually we had too.. (despite all my arguing)I guess ya learn the hard way lol..but all in all this hotel is perfect for your stay and it's cheap and easily reached from the airport too...nice cosy bar too and this massage area..
What a wonderful time, the Hotel Theatrino is, as the name suggests, a converted Theatre, great architecture, far enough out of the town centre to be quiet at night. The staff, from the cleaning ladies to the receptionists, were polite, friendly and helpful, no-one could have done more, especially the lovely Tatyana in the dining room, never without a beaming smile, Sisi, on reception the same, great people who seem to really enjoy their work. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and varied, from pastries, to fresh fruit, cereals and yoghurt, to scrambled and fried eggs, sliced cheeses and cold sliced meats. The room, overlooking the rear of the hotel, was quiet, clean and tidy, with masses of piping hot water. Oh, and a very comfortable bed. In all, very good facilities. We will be coming back next year, but for a longer stay. The Christmas markets, were extremely busy, both with people and tour guides touting for business, although they were not pushy, just trying to sign people up for their tours. We went on two tours, on the river and to the castle, good value, very informative, if a little fast, but very informative, especially the castle, great time. Then, an hour before we left, it proper full on snowed, within that hour two inches fell. All in all a very enjoyable break, we packed a lot in, but we're coming back next year for sure.
well 4th time in prague 1st at theatrino and every hotel been great so fa hotel duo and hotel golf but masybe next time we would come back here as hotel looks good from outside and our room was overlooking lipanski street and ceilings very high room very big and clean maybe cpl more coathangers for the missus ? and breakfast area was huge ceilings where theatre used to be but breakfast had most things needed from salad stuff cheese meat , my fav fresh fruit and yoghurt , breads and lots pastries to choose from plus some cereals and hot eggs bacon sausages scrambled egg etc , staff always very friendly and helpful now getting to wenceles sq the centre of prague read on here oh its far away etc etc ???? WHAT !!!! , its 30 second walk to tram where several trams take you there mainly trams 5 or 9 and trams appear very regular normally within 2 minutes 4 max , and 4th stop needed so within 10 mins max be walking around centre and your ticket covers you for the metro as well so free to roam and enjoy whole of prague and wow its a beautiful city for sure , on way back to hotel get off at stop called lipanski which takes you straight back to hotel in 1 minute :) great little pub right opposite the hotel for quick drink or meal which we did from someone who speaks english very well , overall perfect for getting round and perfect for breakfast and everything , we even did the lovely walk into centre which is surprisingly quick as is railway station at bottom of hill
Stayed here for 3 nights. Hotel has been converted from a theatre, and the breakfast/bar area is in the main room where the audience would have been sitting. The hotel is ok but the area is a bit rundown. You can buy a 24 hr Tram ticket from reception for 110kc, tram stop just down the road, No 5 or 9, just remember to validate your ticket. You can also use the Metro and buses with the same ticket. 4th stop takes you into the Wencelas Square and they run all through the night. The room was nice and clean, en suite, TV, tea making facilities, minibar and I found a safe in the wardrobe. Cleaner everday. Breakfast was good, usual cereal, fruit, pastries, and cooked options. Went to the bar 1 night, beer was good but I was the only person there, they don't do evening meals, only snacks. What I didn't expect was to be sharing the floor with a load of noisy schoolkids/teens, shouting, screaming, banging doors. Reception told me "Quiet time" is apparently after 10pm, but the noise still went on well after 1am. The teachers were ignoring the noise and complaints. Not the best nights for sleeping and relaxing in your room.
Stayed four nights at this hotel, very clean and good sized bathroom, beds are really comfy with large pillows, stocked mini bar if you need anything for a reasonable price, a/c can be a bit on the noisy side Staff are lovely and helpful, desk is staffed all day and night, the shower is very powerful, there is a hairdryer in the room, breakfast is excellent with a wide range of food to suit everyone, Tatiana is a ray of sunshine in the morning, always service with a smile Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby which cater for all tastes. Tram 9 or 5 will take you into town which is where it all happens. From the airport take the bus to Divoka Sarka, then cross the road to the tram depot and take the number 26 straight to the bottom of the road from hotel Theatrino, easiest way to get there.
Lovely hotel with helpful receptionist staff (Sisi and Veronica), excellent breakfast buffet spread (Thank you, Toutlouna for being so enthusiastic), clean rooms with attentive housekeeping service. All in all, very reasonable for the price paid and will come back again.
I booked this hotel as a cheap package deal and was very happy with it! Super comfy beds, especially the huge pillows. Minibar was a nice extra. Only problem was the hairdryer, worked very poorly and overheated quickly and stopped working. Powerful and hot shower. Did not eat breakfast so unable to comment. It is situated two minutes walk to a tram stop so very easy to get in and out of the centre at all hours of the day and night. Would stay here again.
Stayed for four nights this time. Had an attic room on the 5th floor which was nice and quiet and had a great view of the TV tower. Staff all friendly, from check in, at breakfast, room cleaners and at fun cocktail bar. Excellent breakfast in the theatre auditorium too. Great value at around £30 for room and breakfast in Autumn. Easy access to town by tram (nearby) or a 10 min walk to Jiriho z Podebrad metro which was handy to and from airport. Some great bars, cafes and places to eat around too, such as u Sadu and Palacs Nekropolis arts venue. Zizkov and nearby Vinohrady are much less touristy so you can also see the great places the locals prefer.
