We were only here for two nights but it was magical! Check in was super easy and we were offered help with tours if we wished and led to our room and shown around. We were treated to a wonderful bottle of wine which I was told was from the owner’s vineyard and also to a room upgrade to a river view due to my platinum status on Orbitz. The room was gorgeous with lovely details in the lighting fixtures etc. The nespresso machine made my mornings. The bath tub was lovely and we had an amazing bath. The bed was super comfortable and we slept quite soundly both nights. We had a beautiful view of the river especially when we woke up to snowfall. I was worried it would be loud with the proximity to bars and restaurants but wasn’t even an issue. Overall would definitely stay here again, no question!
The hotel location is very convenient, within walking distance to a lot of tourist spots, e.g. 3' walk to Charles bridge, 8' walk to Old town. There are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and convenient stores around the area. I got a complimentary upgrade to the Royal Palace suite, which is beautiful, charming, and spacious. Breakfast buffet is good and staffs are friendly. It was a perfect stay!

We stayed here for our wedding in Prague and it was absolutely wonderful! The hotel staff went out of their way to be nice and accommodating. The room was gorgeous, and the food at the hotel restaurants was great. We will definitely be returning to this hotel.

We loved our recent stay at the Smetana Hotel. As many travelers have said, the location is ideal for walking to many important sites, and the view of the river and the castle from our room was lovely. We found the staff to be helpful and personable. When we complained about noise one night, the manager addressed our concern promptly. We did not have breakfast included and enjoyed a full breakfast - for a very reasonable price - most days.

This room was very spacious; hotel was walking distance to everything. Charles bridge was blocks away; bed was very comfortable. The negatives: 'breakfast included' is misleading. You get seated with basket of bread and jam, then given their breakfast menu at full prices. We even overheard others complaining. The room is spacious but it would help to have coat hooks at entrance, the shower is separate rm from toilet and can easily fit a table for placing toiletries etc. Finally, we were very upset that a small bag of socks, underwear and few shirts cost us over $100 euro. It was consistent with other experiences with this hotel trying to Nicole and dime you. People don't like this. We did not like having to be watchful over any 'extras' we may get charged for...
We loved our stay here! It was so conveniently located to Old town and the Charles Bridge. We could walk anywhere we wanted to go with no trouble! We enjoyed a nice view of the river and a very spacious and comfortable room. My husband liked that there was cigar room on site. The history of the hotel is neat, as well! We used their car service for airport pick up and were greeted as soon as we got our bags. No stress was worth everything!

Beware of room 504. It is up a elevator, a walk to another wing and up 2 flights of a narrow staircase. The beams in the room are a hazard and the view of the river limited. The bellman carried the luggage by the extension handles and broke one. Then he blamed it on the airlines! Beds are very soft!!
We enjoyed our stay in Prague and would recommend the Pachtuv Palace. It is very close to all the main attractions and a short walk to everything you need.
The hotel staff including maid service was very good and helpful. The beds were great. We were close to the Charles Bridge. Have always wanted to go to Prague because of my heritage. The people were nice, many spoke English. My family wants to return. We wish we had stayed longer than 3 nights.
I booked two different suites in July of 2015 for an October 2015 stay and prepaid both rooms--one at $375/night and one at $275/night. We heard nothing from the hotel in the interim, but on arrival at 11:30pm from the airport, the hotel was a complete shambles under construction. The registration desk was tucked in a closet with plastic visqueen paper blocking the airways. We were told that due to construction, one of our rooms was not available and that person would be transported to a different hotel 15 minutes walk away. We were given only the option to double up but no other options--not even a room at a nearby hotel. When asked why we were not warned in advance so that we might be able to rebook, we were given just a blank look by the obviously helpless night clerk. I would avoid this hotel at all costs if for any other reason, their dishonesty.
If you are looking for a hotel which has plenty of charm, elegance, a strong historical flavour, at one of the best possible locations in Prague, look no further. The two times I have stayed at Pachtuv Palace have left no dissapointments, of any kind. Tastefully decorated, well appointed, and surprisingly large rooms, inside an 18th century palace which misses none of the modern necessities, right in front of the river and 80 meters away from Charles Bridge. Surrounded by some of the very best restaurants in Prague. Some staff members are 100 up to their task, while others maybe 80 - but the majority are in the first group.
The location is so nice and easy. Its a beauty hotel. This hotel took a last minute/second booking from me as my hotel flooded when i arrived at (other hotel) 9am they accepted and online booking at 10 am and had a room available for me before noon. I was so grateful! The staff could not have been more helpful and kind. Recommended divine restaurants and shopping areas. Loved every minute in Prague (except my first hour at worst/flooded hotel).
