I stayed here for my friends 40th birthday. We both loved the location of the hotel which was only a very short walk from the market square. I loved all the little touches provided by the hotel. The meet and greet session in the evening was lovely. I could not fault the room which was luxurious. In addition breakfast was to a high standard. I would love to stay here again, especially to enjoy again the roof top jacuzzi, The only recommendation to the hotel would be the baggage handling. It took some time for our bags to be found. But as this was after check out I cannot take a star off, as our stay was all in all fantastic! Thank you.
Great hotel all around. Well done rooms. Great bar. Restaurant looked great. I didn’t eat there. Staff was top notch! Location is a 10. No wonder London telegraph rates it as one of its top 10 hotels in Prague
The room is clean and modern, the staff are friendly and helpful.the location is good. Staff reminds all travel tips in Prague. However, the room should be ready by 3:00pm but we can only get it by 3:30pm.
The staff were friendly, helpful and courteous; the bedroom was very comfortable and sleek with everything you'd need; all of the communal areas were well looked after and stylish - I especially liked the relaxation room! Extra perks were very much appreciated. The location is second to none. Would definitely recommend!
The service at the hotel was first class. Every associate was friendly and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised when I found a complimentary bottle of wine and a card wishing me a Happy Birthday. Our room was tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean. The food at the restaurant was delicious and well presented. The bartenders were friendly and enjoyed engaging in conversation. The Spa is spectacular. I am planning on returning to Prague and will definitely stay at The Emblem Hotel.
Fantastic experience all round. Would highly recommend. Staff were always happy and eager to assist in any way possible. Email communication before our stay was excellent ( cant thank you enough Erika!)
Chose this hotel for a friend and I to stay in for a 3 night city break. From time of booking through to our departure, we could not fault this hotel overall! Ideally situated within a few minutes walk from the Old Town Square Beautifully decorated hotel with modern features Very clean and all staff extremely polite and helpful Food fantastic - breakfast buffet. Would def recommend to anyone travelling to Prague.
The best thing about this hotel is the location. You are literally behind the Old Town Square, which is a great point to start exploring the city. Unfortunately this is about where the best thing end. I do not regret staying here, it was not that bad after all, but as someone who likes Prague, been there a few times and plans to keep coming, next time I choose to stay elsewhere. And here is why. Check in: upon arrival it was not immediately clear where the check in desk is, and (perhaps due to the reason that we decided to take our carry-ons into the hotel ourselves and not give it to the guy who went out to greet us) he failed to point us towards it. So we found ourselves at a desk immediately to the right when you enter the hotel, which apparently was not the check in, from where we were redirected further on... Okay, there we are. Lots of information given from the check in girl, not all of which was immediately necessary, also reading it off a tablet or looking at it every second is not very professional. Either learn what you need to say or just cut the information so you don't have to consult the tablet if you forget smth. Next - room is not ready, fine, not like we were going to whine about it, after all we came at 1pm. I am asking when will it be ready and next thing I know, she says, she will change our rooms and give us one now. Okay, nice, but why make a small show out of it? You either have a room rightaway or not... Room was small, design is nice, bed is comfy, but bathroom is extremely small, with an unneeded bathtub in such a confined space, a shower would have done much better. And there is zero space for your own toiletries. Literally. Zero. Nada. Had to move hotels toiletries over to the bathtub to have one own bag atop the other... Ladies, tip for you, bring your own hair conditioner at least, cause hotel offers you a 2 in 1 one after which I had serious troubles brushing my hair. Oh, one more thing. The shower gel disappeared after the first morning and never came back until the last day. Perhaps it was a mistake of a cleaning person or are you only supposed to use 1 every two days? If so, leave the unfinished one... Walls are thin and most of the noise comes from inside the hotel, our room was facing a street and we were at the 1st floor, could hear the street, but at night it was always quiet enough for a good sleep. On to the breakfast: not a big choice with the buffet and it is not immediately clear that you can order eggs at the table. We were sitting for 5 min at the table already when a piece of paper with egg choice were brought to us. Why not just put it at the table where you can see it clearly and as soon as you sit down? Speaking of which, our last day was Saturday and this in when it became clear that they just can't handle the breakfast when the hotel is full. That egg paper just never came that morning... The guy in the lobby, not quite sure what his position is, never greeted us a single time although we always said 'good morning'. WTF? Even if you don't speak english, its a question of basic politeness... Overall, definitely not a 5 star, more like a 4 minus. Location is great, but customer friendliness leaves you wishing for more.
Excellent location, very comfortable rooms and all the extras with gadgets, coffee and juice all day, offer of umbrellas, bag storage, wine on arrival and many more available I am sure if we had asked, really felt like had thought of everything and could really help. Stayed 1 night would reccommend. Breakfast was over priced and the concerige was abrupt and direct, a softer approach would be appreciated.
I went to Prague for a long weekend at the start of August. Through all my research, I kept coming back to The Emblem Hotel and found a great deal (compared to other prices I had seen for this hotel) on Booking.com. In the lead up to my arrival I had an email to take a survey to let them know my likes and dislikes so they could make suggestions for my time in Prague. This was a great touch and meant I had somewhere to start in terms of researching how I was going to spend my time in the city. Generally, the hotel is finished to a nice standard. The rooms are small but the hotel is not shy in acknowledging this and in fact, it was perfectly fine for a solo trip for the weekend. I had "checked in online" (not sure why as I still had to check in when I arrived) but because of this, I was given a complimentary bottle of wine which was a nice surprise. However, considering the prices this hotel normally charge, I was decidedly underwhelmed by the experience. I had very high expectations and these were not met. Around 8am every morning there was noise outside my room. The hotel is small and I'm guessing the walls are very thin as I could also hear toilets flushing in the neighbouring rooms. At breakfast, it was clear the staff were very young and inexperienced, they were pretty useless and were laughing and joking with each other. One member of staff dropped a fork from the plate he was clearing and the others laughed. At one point even shouting to each other across the room. It created an environment not in keeping with the general theme of the hotel. It also meant dirty plates were not cleared away in a timely manner, one morning I had three different dirty plates on my table which staff just ignored as they walked past - not exactly a 5* service. During my stay, I thought I would treat myself to an hour in the rooftop jacuzzi and some chill time in the spa. The jacuzzi is pretty cool, however it is impossible to relax due to the number of wasps circling the water. On the roof by the jacuzzi, there were around 10-15 wasps hovering. Clearly something is attracting them to the area and it makes for a rather unpleasant experience. On a separate day I booked in for a massage at the spa. The treatment room had windows which I thought was rather odd and given my massage was at 1:30pm, it meant the room was in broad daylight. Again, it meant the room and the experience in general, wasn't very relaxing and instead felt quite clinical. After the massage, I spoke to the spa receptionist about using the facilities eg the sauna, steam room. She informed me these would need to be switched on and that I would need to wait 15-20 minutes. I have never been to a hotel or spa where I need to wait 20 minutes in the afternoon for the sauna to warm up. A lot of the above is quite pernickety however the hotel is meant to be 5*s and with the rates they charge, I was not expecting such an underwhelming experience. I would not recommend staying here as I'm sure you can get much more for your money elsewhere.
