Old town square is beautiful. If you discount the rivers of tourists here, its a step back in time with its Gothic Lady of Tyn church overlooking the square you could be forgiven for thinking you were in an old movie. Mornings here are quieter and the square is peaceful. Its close to all the major sites and walking through the cobble streets is an experience. Its almost like a mini Paris without all the traffic. Its good for families too. Our children loved this city.
The other reviewers are correct: the location of the Old Town Square Hotel is perfect for waking excursions in any direction. The rooms are spacious, modern and well-equipped. But, as against some reviews of the hotel, we very much enjoyed our interactions with quite a few of its staff during our weeklong stay. Gracious, warm and inquisitive, Abdi was a font of information about Prague and its many charms. Václav was genuinely interested in us, not only as guests or tourists but as people with whom he found he had much in common. The morning of our departure, although he was off the clock at the time, he made a special trip to our room to wish us a safe journey. The young woman who served us our in-room breakfast was also unfailingly upbeat and very eager to please. I can't recommend this hotel more highly.
Located on the square, this old old hotel has been beautifully refurbished and has large modern bedrooms. Our room (#14) overlooked the square, was absolutely enormous with modern interior, new and modern bathroom - position, location - you will never get any better. Breakfast is served in your room from 6.30 to 11.30am. it is just a pity that the staff who run the hotel are not up to standard, there is a feeling of "this is just a job and I have to be here to do it. Reception staff are not very friendly, or helpful, they give you no guidance when checking in, offer no information on the city, are rather rude and actually just don't care. Maybe a feeling of "old communist regime" coming through from the staff? Our room was only half cleaned and made up one morning, cups & teaspoons missing, tea & coffee not replenished, and when I questioned it, I had the feeling they wanted to accuse me of lying! It's a boutique hotel but they have lost this completely. If they sort out the staff and their attitude, then this hotel can be such a little gem.
This hotel could not be in a better location. We had a view of the whole Old Town square from our window. Hotel had a great service and the appartment room was very spacious for our family of 4. Everything was modern and new in the room. The breakfast was excellent. We got to choose all the things that we like in beforehand and the breakfast was brought to the room in the morning at the time that we chose. They served everything so nicely on the dinner table. We absolutely recommend and would stay again in this hotel for our next trip.
a beautiful place.. fun walking in the lil lanes there, good food right in front of the astronomical clock, for indian food Indian jewel restaurant is at a walking distance super food and nice ambience. lovely place.
This place is amazing. The staff are welcoming, especially Abdi, who was helpful and generous. We came for my husbands 50th birthday and our anniversary and they helped my hubs get flowers which we're in the room upon arrival. Awesome free breakfast every morning delivered to your room. The room was spacious with an amazing views overlooking the square and you could even see and hear the astronomical clock! High old ceilings but modern amenities I.e. the pretty bathroom. Abdi was so helpful in recommending restaurants and setting up tours and cars. Wonderful experience. Loved, loved, loved. Highly recommend!
It's an impressive place to visit! It's the center of Prague and the view is stunning! Architecture, beauty, shops, culture, history etc Be very careful when you go there. It's so crouded that you could loose your money without noticing it. Too many Cigans...
The best place in old Prague. Amazing square with many sights, restaurants, galleries, astronomical clock, shops, street artists, stage for concerts, in the winter with Christmas tree and markets, sometimes is here sporting events.
The old town square is an amazing place. Full of history, shops, restaurants, incredible well conservares buildings. We had lunch on one of the restaurants in the plaza and had a great time as well as local food
Myself and partner visited Prague as I used to live there, even before I had arrived the service was great! The guy unfortunately was going on vacation so we did have to call up to see where we would be picking up our keys but this was no problem at all and the guy reassured us with prompt emails regularly. My only negative was that the shower is far to low to use therefore we had to hand held it for showers, but everything else was great. The studio we stayed in was beautiful, spacious and clean! Thank you so much for our wonderful stay...
