This was a last minute reservation and we were so happy we have found a place to stay here. This Hotel is very well renovated and beautifully decorated. The breakfast is super nice with lots of variety and fast service. The staff at the reception is very very very helpful so do approach and ask anything you want. We were checked in by a student and this youngster was behaving like a pro so kudos!!! This was really surprising comparing to the Czech people who are merely so arrogant and rude... It is located a few meters away from the Palladium mall and the pedestrian roads, so you can even go by foot. The Powder Gate by foot is around 5 minutes (or less) and the clock about 8 minutes (foot). Never regretted our last minute choice of staying with this nice little Hotel. We usually do not visit the same place twice but if Prague will be our destination again, here we will stay for sure (if we find availability of course).
Me and my wife stayed couple of days and we had a lovely stay. We were welcomed by friendly reception staff and got some useful tips. The room we had was nice, spacious and cleaned every day. Great location, just few minutes walk to the city centre. Overall I can recommend this hotel to everybody.
Great location, not far from the historic areas yet a little off the beaten path. The breakfast was fantastic and the rooms were comftorable rooms though a little to toasty. The hotel staff was warm, friendly and extremely helpful. We began each day getting a list of suggestions for restaurants and everything Prague from Maria, Ondrej and Yvetta. My wife was treated to an exceptional Thai massage. Thank you for making our stay in Praque memorable!
Really nice hotel, so it’s a shame to see some recent disappointing reviews. We’ve stayed for 4 nights and have had a great stay. Pros: large room, comfy bed, good bathroom. 2 feather pillows provided but can ask for a foam one from reception. Good breakfast, lots of options - breads, meats and cheeses, fried/scrambled eggs, hotdog type sausages, beans, bacon, yogurt, dried fruits and fresh fruits. Perfect! Hotel bar a free drink voucher on arrival. Location is great, reception staff directed us to a great street full of restaurants on the way to the old town square. Staff were all polite and helpful. Lots of info such as which tram to get to Castle (walk down the steps instead of up them!). Cons: heating only in the winter months. Despite being from cold Scotland I found the heating too much for me. Unfortunately the air con doesn’t work in winter and you cannot turn down the temperature of the radiators. However if you open a window the heating turns off :) We have had a window open each night which has worked perfectly for us. Garbage collection comes around 12ppm/1am which may disturb you for a minute if the window is open - not a big deal for most people though! Reception staff are lovely but need more experience in the role. Not a problem for me, let’s be nice to everyone, but if you are expecting an extremely high level this might not be for you. However, I have found everyone helpful and polite so for 99% of travellers, the staff are all fine. I would recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay here again.
I was travelling with my husband for the second part of our honeymoon. I chose this hotel on the high rating and reviews on tripadvisor, however, I was extremely disappointed. We were put in to a room that was absolutely tiny where the air con didn't work properly. The TV was broken and wasn't fixed to our last day. They supply coffee and tea bags along with a kettle in the room which is a nice touch but no milk - when I asked if I could have some the staff said no. The staff that were in the breakfast area serving were beyond rude. The lady with the blonde hair made it very obvious she wasn't happy in her work place and on more than once occasion laughed at guests. Although the reception staff were reasonably nice , they really do lack professionalism. This is possibly due to age as they all seem to be 20 or below. Lastly, we requested an iron to use on the first day and never arrived , even after prompting on more than one occasion. Really disappointed with our stay and would advise people to book elsewhere.
To begin with and make it clear already we travelled as a couple and both of us are employees in hotels with 15 or more years of experience in 5* hotels. Unfortunatelly the pros are less than cons. Before I make the reservation in this hotel I read so many reviews and I was preety sure that most of the negative reviews are too much to be true.. THE CONS First impression, the lady in the reception needs to take showers more often, she was helpfull, friendly and smiley though. We then got into our room that was nice and cozy BUT wifi was not even detectable. Second day,at the morning shift there wa such a lovely girl (I think her name is Marie) in the reception with her colleague, both really friendly. I told her about wifi and how this affects my stay cause of luck if communication with my work back in Athens and in an hour she had ready another room for us which by the way was much better and with more spacious wc. Unfortunatelly we could use wifi but the signal was so bad and the internet so slow that was so irritating to use it. Seriously guys, it’s 2017. It’s ridiculous not having in a hotel in Europe internet access not even in the public areas such as the bar and the lobby area in general. The waiting staff. As almost every restaurant in Prague has rude and unskilled waitors, Moods hotel is one step further. Morning shift doesn’t even welcome you with a goodmorning and the guys needs to use deodorants more often. The worst waitress i have seen in my whole life works there (I don’t know why,in my hotel she wouldn’t stay more than an hour). The woman with long blonde hair and glasses,is the rudest person I’ve ever met. She clearly doesn’t like her job and she has so much disrepect about customers. She is the only one which you could hear talking and laughing and make loud noises in the breakfast area wherever you sit. When someone can see what u doing you don’t kick the dishwasher’s door to close and when u polish the cutlery you don’t touch them from the side people will eat,it is HAACP rules. Also,to avoid putting fingers into the glasses you guys need to learn how to use service trays. Evening shift. We went to the bar to order a coffee and the waitress was sitting at the floor behind the bar talking to the phone giving us ZERO attention making us waiting her to finish her phone call! REALLY?! Rooms were clean with clean towels. Housekeeping though opened the door the first day without knocking first. Beds are ok,the pillows though are really bad. TV in the room has only channels in Czech language (as every hotel in Prague). THE PROS Great location, close to tram stations. You barely need to use the metro-tube. Close to almost every touristic attraction and restaurants with small walking distance. Good breakfast. Nice buffet and continental as well. Cozy hotel with nice decoration and rooms. OVERALL I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless you don’t really care about wifi or staff’s attitude. Really expensive for the facilities and what it provides. PS. Dear Management you need to redefine your stance to your customers, otherwise you will not only take the 5th star but I’m afraid you will lose your 4th as well. If there is any manager,I didn’t see anyone during our stay.
We arrived at the airport and flagged down a taxi which was around 600-650 czk. At this time (9am) the taxi’s were very quiet and probably the best option as public transport you have to get 2-3 different buses/trams. The taxi took around 30minutes, you can arrange a taxi with the hotel if this helps but decided not to in the end. We arrived at moods boutique and was greeted by the lady at reception which I think was the manager, she was very helpful, informative by giving us tour flyers and a map of Prague and due to the timing we was upgraded to a bigger sized room which isn’t usually our luck, so we was very surprised and happy with this. The whole hotel looks and feels very modern and had a bit of money spent on it. Our room was great, the beds were very comfy, the bathroom was a good size and had a powerful shower. The room was cleaned every day along with fresh towels. The room also had a safe, tv, kettle, temperature control etc.. We booked breakfast with our stay and this was from early in the morning til 11 which was convenient and had a variety of hot and cold food. They only provided a small toaster for the guests which means you’d be waiting a while so I think a bigger one is required, also there was no English tea on display and I noticed someone specifically asked for this which they received. I think English tea should always be displayed, never the less, the coffee was great. The hotel is situated around a 10 minute walk to the old town which was superb! We felt you can get out of the busy streets after a few hours in the old town sq. This Christmas markets were also an added extra to our stay and made it that bit more special for us. The beer is also cheap as chips!! I would recommend this hotel to friends and family and would definitely return on another visit. Thanks for the stay and service we received!
I slept soo well in the hästens bed..Also great bath tub and amneties. Breakfast ok. Hang out in the cafe down stairs with calm and plenty space. Staff did their best to make it a great stay. Wifi not super stable.
Stopped here on a couples break and the location was superb. It's about 10 minutes walk away from Old Town which is great because you are just outside the hustle and bustle and feel you have a quiet part of Prague all to yourself. Near the hotel is a couple of locals bars off the main drag which is great if you want to see where the Czech people drink and not want to spend time in the tourist bars. The hotel breakfast was plentiful and locally sourced with hot food options and great coffee. It was also open till 11am which was good if you had too much beer the night before The room was large, clean and great facilities. Warm at all times and a very comfortable bed. Also the staff at the hotel were great and need to be mentioned as they were always happy to help. From the airport arrange a pickup from Prague airport transfers who were cheap and waiting for our arrival. One last thing - Try the Czech red wine, stunning with the Czech food.
The hotel is situated very close to the very centre of the city - you can walk there in 15 minutes or there's a tram station just at the end of the road. There is a large shopping centre just at the top of the main road (10 minutes walk). We arrived on the overnight train from Budapest, so we got to Prague for around 06:40. Obviously, nowhere was open at that hour, so we went straight to the hotel. We knew we wouldn't be able to get to our rooms (as much as we wanted to sleep), but we just wanted somewhere to leave our cases. The girl on reception, Nikola, was very friendly and extremely helpful. She checked us in, told us we could to leave our cases with her, and allowed us to go get some breakfast. After breakfast, she gave us maps of the city and highlighted all the main sights that we should consider visiting. When we got to our rooms, they were lovely - very spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. Every room has got carefully chosen quotes written on the walls from a book called "The Three Golden Keys" by Peter Sis. It adds a bit of individuality to the rooms and is a really nice touch. Overall, we were extremely happy with the hotel - easily one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The only very minor gripe was that the WiFi signal in our rooms was so weak that it just was not worth using, so perhaps this is something that the hotel could look at improving.
