My friend and I stayed here for four days. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable, especially the pillows. The breakfast was sufficient; it was the same everyday. The hotel was about a 20 minute walk from Charles Bridge but the tram stops right in front. There is a corner bar/restaurant next door and below that was awesome. I have to give a special shout out to Jakob who was always extremely helpful and taught me to navigate the trams.
Stayed for 4 nights at Hotel William recently. Was recommended by friends who had stayed there 10 years earlier, and standards still seem high. The hotel is charming in every way. The breakfast is adequate and generous to get your day started. The location in Mala Strana is only a 5 minute walk to the Charles Bridge and about 10 more to Old Town Square. We originally felt we should stay right in Old Town, but seeing the crowds and activity, we were grateful to get back to our quiet neighbourhood each evening. Plenty of good restaurants nearby where we enjoyed hearty Czech dishes. Our room on the 5th floor was small but perfectly adequate with clean, comfortable bed and bright clean bathroom with shower. Richard at the front desk was kind, knowledgeable, patient and very helpful. When we return to Prague we will stay at Hotel William and encourage our friends to stay here.
This was my second stay in the last 8 months, and the location hasn’t changed. Neither has the breakfast, which is quite a nice one. The staff, too, is friendly, helpful and professional. Parking is very nearby with payment at the hotel at checkout. I highly recommend Hotel William
Two most impressive things about this hotel are the price and the location. A two minute walk from Petrin Hill, and a five minute walk from Charles Bridge, with a tram stop right outside as well. It's perfectly placed for a trip to Prague. The service was great too, the staff spoke perfect English, explained everything available and check-in and check-out was smooth and simple. The room we had was on the small side, but you'll only be using it for sleeping so it hardly matters. Breakfast was decent, the usual continental affair plus some cooked meats and eggs. I'll be recommending this hotel to all who ask where to stay in Prague. Perfect visit, more than get your moneys worth.
I tough the hotel was lovely, we had a room on a quiet street. It was clean, helpful staff, espically Richard at reception. The only thing i would improve is a larger secletion of fruit and for it to be cut fresh the morning. I Felt it had been cut the night before. Perfect location 3 min from Charles Bridge.
We enjoyed the nice large family room, which was tastefully decorated. Generous and varied breakfast, walking distance to centre, while enjoying the quiet of Mala Strana. Personnel friendly and multilingual.
Impressive decoration in the common areas, very good and well-prepared breakfast. Small, clean and cozy rooms and staff always enjoyable and helpful!!The hotel in the old town that is close to most of the city's attractions, ideal for couples and families! Definitely a very good choice for those who like exploring the streets of the old town but also the new side.
I really liked staying here with 3 really old friends from college for our little Eurotrip/reunion. Its a 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel to Charles bridge and its close to all the other places worth visiting. The service was terrific, with a really nice breakfast included. The architecture and deco is very quaint, and its very affordable, although I don't know what the rates are during high season. Anyway, highly recommended.
Nice clean hotel , staff are helpful, the reception is very knowledgeable and will help direct you to where you may go. The trams are directly outside hotel and tickets are obtainable from hotel. Plenty of good places to eat and drink one stop on tram or 10 min walk.
As is the case when booking small hotels in Cities you've never been to we were a bit unsure what to expect, but what a pleasant surprise. Hotel William is perfectly placed to enjoy all that Prague has to offer. Within a 5 minute walk of Charles Bridge taking you to the heart of the Old Town but far enough away that it's also very quiet by comparison. The Funicular Railway to the Observatory is almost across the road, and there is a Tram stop outside the hotel to take you to the Castle. The reception staff are exceptional - very friendly and full of useful information and advice. Breakfast was good - more of a Continental with a little bit of hot food (don't expect a full English) but very nice and the pastries were lovely. We had a top floor room which was very quiet and reasonably spacious. One big plus for me was the shower - plenty of hot water and nice and powerful (better than most "branded" hotels i've stayed in. Not sure what else to say other than you can't go wrong staying at Hotel William and if I return to Prague, which I hope to at a different time of year I will definitely stay there again.
