Hotel U krize is located on a main street and is just opposite to Petrina Hill. This may not be a big hotel but we found our stay very comfortable and pleasant. Front office staff is polite and helpful. They arranged for our pick up from airport and also arranged for car whenever we required. Martina, Peter and others were very helpful. We were allotted a nice and clean room on first floor. Lift is available in hotel. Hotel has it's own restaurant, which is busy and you may require a reservation for dinner. Home made beer is served along with other options. They took a good care of our requirement of vegetarian food. Location is excellent. Just opposite to hotel, there is tram stop and it is very easy to commute to different places. We used to have slow walk to old town, which took around 20-25 minutes. Many other tourist attractions and shopping areas are nearby. We loved our 4 night stay at Hotel U krize.
Stayed at other hotels in Prag, but this is exellent, so we have chosen it repeatedly. Placed in "Little Side" - Mala Strana, exactly between nature (Petryn Heigts) and the classic town down to the river, which is only a few hundred meters away. Housing, serving, quality of food and not least wine, excellent. So good. Henning Thrane, Thorup Strand, 9690 Fjerritslev, DK
Small quaint hotel and I mean small but I guess it serves our purpose since we're up early and pretty much gone all day. Breakfast is nice but could use a revamp in menu.(Pretty much the same everyday)Close to everything.
Stayed here for a few days...it's small and quaint and family owned. The rooms are good, clean and tidy, staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is good. Complimentary afternoon coffee, tea and cake from 3pm is a bonus and very nice. Location is excellent with a short walk to the Charles Street bridge, supermarket 1 minute away and plenty of restaurants close by.
Hotel is ideally located in the Mala Strana district of prague. All of the attractions are within a 20 minute walk. The Hotel itself is probably typical Czech style but we felt it was lacking in some areas. The hotel/room was clean. The room was in our opinion furnished with old fashioned furniture and very basic. There was no tea/coffee making facilities, the bathroom had a shower but no attachment on the wall or a shower screen and the beds were hard, we woke up aching all over. They had a reasonable continental breakfast buffet with a few hot items you could order if you wanted. Staff were friendly and helpful offering advice if we needed. Would we recommend this hotel? Yes if you want cheap accommodation in the centre of Prague. No if you comfort and style.
Me and my friend came to Prague for a few days, we wanted somewhere with an excellent location and with a good value for our money. That is exactly what we got! We arrived late Monday night, the staff were very helpful, friendly and polite. Our room was on the second floor at the back of the hotel, it was nothing fancy but served us well. The room was clean and spacious. The location itself was perfect, we didn't feel the need to use public transport as we enjoyed walking in the sunshine to different parts of the city. It was only a 15 minute walk to Charles bridge, from there you were in the centre of Prague and could easily get around on foot. If needed there was a tram stop right outside the hotel to get around the city that way. The breakfast was yummy, there was plenty of choice with a cold buffet and 3 options on the hot menu, I ordered the bacon and eggs and it was very tasty! The staff were always helpful, they booked our taxi to the airport, they showed us how to get places using the free map they provided. They were also on hand after 12am when the front door was locked and so we used the doorbell for a staff member to let us in. There were plenty of shops, restaurants and bars within a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. The location was very convenient. Overall a lovely stay, excellent price for what you get. There was a slight bit of noise from the trams outside and the floorboards were very thin shall we say but nothing a pair of ear plugs couldn't sort. The hotel could do with a revamp in a couple of areas such as the shower holders and the furniture was a bit dated but this would not put me off staying here again. I would definitely recommend this hotel!!
we stayed here for the second time, as our previous experience had been a good one. Two years have passed, and many things have changed... the air conditioning broke down on Friday and they guaranteed that we would have it back on Monday.. Monday came around and they said "we have no control over the airconditioning man, so he will take 2 or 3 days".. I asked for a discount on the price, no response. The room is spacious, the breakfast is just OK, no accommodating to the customer,
The hotel was bijou and quirky, but very near Charles Bridge. The room was good, clean and comfortable. Parking was the main problem in that it will only take small cars on a lift down to a basement. We had to park the car some distance away in a public car park. The cost of a one night stay was not overly expensive. The bathroom consisted of a bath with a shower head but no curtain or screen.
It's a good value for money but my room was on two floors - with a steep ring-stair to the sleeping facilities. The room wasn't properly clean and the carpets on the floor where worn out. They say it is a 24 hour reception but as I found out, at 11 PM the front door was locked so you could neither get in our out without having the receptionist assist you...and I was unable to find him. The adjoined restaurant is okay with fine selection. The location is very good, only a few minutes walk to the bridge.
We only stayed here one night but were very pleased with the size of the room, the general cleanliness and the quality of the breakfast. It is only about ten minutes walk from the Lesser Old Town and Charles Bridge, making it very well positioned without being in the middle of everything. If we were presented with the option to do so, we would happily stay here again.
