Oh! From the first step entering our room in that amazing hotel Kampa i felt the real smell of boiled sauerkraut that was unforgettable! You cannot get rid of it, it follows you, everywhere, i had to sleep with the window open and got sick in the morning. My trip to beautiful Prague was almost spoiled. But paracetamol saved the situation. As a matter of fact, i woke up in the morning with a crazy smell of pancackes (a little bit better, ye) my clothes, hair everithing absorbed this arome, nice boucqet, isn't it. The problem is, that on the firrst floor of Kampa is restaurant, and smell of coocking food comes into the all rooms of first and second floor, And due to the poor ventilaition you cannot get rid of it at all. What we did? We asked to change the room and we got the new room on the highest floor, that was pretty normal, small, but luckily no smell at all. Bad sound isolation i can hear my neighbours next door coughing. So, location is normal if you like to walk a lot. Breakfast for me, the lover of healthy food was unaceptable. The only advantage i can point is politeness of stuff at the reception. Will i come back to this hotel again? No way, i know better place for the same price.
The hotel is perfectly located for exploring Prague, at a walking distance, five minutes, from Charles Bridge Not on a busy street, and it's easy to reach town where restaurants, places of interest and shops are. Quality hotel with own inspiring style and personality. helpful staff. Very helpful staff at the reception: Roman, Stephan, Radevan and Matej. Thank you for everything
The hotel is located in the quite side (Mala Strana) nearby Kampa island and park. Few minutes walk to Charles bridge and other sights. The hotel rooms (deluxe) are big enough but carpets should be replaced by hard-wood floor etc. Some of the rooms had smell of mold (room 311), but luckily we were able to sleep when window was open. The hotel breakfast was excellent served in the nice decorated hall (medieval theme). Hotel staff was nice and helpful. And finally, the hotel's outdoor bar area was very nice to spent time.
Very nice hotel, as if I went back to the past .. :-) but with the services of 21 centuries. Great service for breakfast. Here was waitress Hanka, who cared well for us and others. Thank you very much.
I stayed in this hotel 11 years ago for the first time, when it was part of Best Western chain and I am happy, I choose to return to it again. The hotel is perfect for exploring the central Prague. It's perfectly located. We were able to get by foot to every central locations and for remote locations there is a tram station in 5 minutes walking from hotel. It has a amazing breakfast, with buffet full of choice, which is not that usual in European hotels. The breakfast room is a huge mediaval hall with live music and singer. We had two rooms - regular and deluxe. Both are very spacious, with extremely great bed. I would just reccomend that if you provide double bed, to provide a double blanket also and not two single blankets. The service was great, professional and friendly. I would definetely return to this hotel again.
Surprisingly silent place with medieval spirit. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Nice live piano music during early morning breakfast made my day. Rooms are clean and bed was really comfy. If I ever need to stay, I would come again... P.S. maybe better tea brand would make me more happy:-)
Beautifully unique designed interior that has a great vibe to it. It is also very well located but still calm. The staff is very friendly and helpful for tourism guidance! Huge plus: delicious crêpes made in front of you every morning!
The interior of the hotel is medieval type. The staff are very kind and helpful. The location of the hotel is perfect, it'a a ten minute walk to the old town through the Charles bridge, and the river side is very close and beautiful. The area surrounding the hotel is very quite which means you are getting a good nights sleep. Breakfast was great, there was sausages and eggs, different kinds of cheeses, cereals and fresh salad. The hotel is very clean, towels were being changed everyday. All in all, it was a pleasant stay in the hotel and we would recommend it to all our friends.
Good and centeral location and still Quiet. Lovely breakfast with live piano music. The room is very clean and the beds are so comfortable. One tv channel in english. The rest- german and russian. Staff very nice. Defenetly recomended.
I'll start off by saying that it was HOT in Prague this summer. Because the hotel is located in a UNESCO World Heritage protected area there is little that can be done to ameliorate the situation of no A/C. In did cool of a bit at nighttime and in every room of the persons of the group was a fan. The reception area is small but the service there was friendly and attentive. Houskeeping was good and the breakfasts were wonderful. The rooms are typical European size, not too large but adequate. The bathrooms were also small but seem to have recently been updated. Each room had a fridge/bar that had enough room to chill your own water. The hotel is located near a park, which can be accessed through the bar to the outdoor patio and dining area. The park runs along the Vlatava and in a few minutes you are at the Charles bridge with access to the other side of the river. Walking in either direction from the bridge there are many restaurants and shops. A walk along the bridge is a must, not only for teh statues but also for the art and the perfoming artists. From the front door going to the right of the hotel and walking a few minutes is a streetcar/tram stop. From there you have access to many other parts of the city. Going out the front of the hotel to the left will bring you to a main street and another bridge that crosses the Vlatava and would bring you to Wenceslaus Square, a major center of the city.
