My initial perception of this hotel were wrong. The location may be out of the circle of activities, but the staff and services make up for that. The rooms are good sized, beds are comfortable - ask for extra mattress if you like it soft - and the bath tubs are good for soaking. The breakfast gets you ready for the day. With the low cost of transportation or if you like to walk, this hotel is well worth overlooking its location.

Hotel General is a roomy clean well run facility. The rooms are large compared to many Europe hotels, and the staff works hard to please guests. It is in a quiet neighborhood, which is good for some, although the bar is rarely used and only staffed if a guest goes down there. No one comes in from the outside. TVs are decent old flat panels, but do not have HDMI connectors for computers or devices. Breakfast buffet is excellent, and there are both subway and train stations within easy walking distance.

Wonderful Hotel, would stay there again and again!

The hotel is a beautiful older hotel but has been updated wonderfully. The staff there is tremendous. We stayed last year, and when we returned, they remembered us! Every attention to detail has been met from the air conditioning (worked beautifully by the way), the food, everything! This is my favorite hotel we e ever stayed at and we have stayed at hundreds! I can’t say enough about all the staff there either. They are all wonderful people who really seem to care about their clients comforts.

Good value. Staff friendly & helpful. Hotel over all lovely & very clean. Breakfast fine, more so from additional menu. Complimentary sparking wine on last night. Bar always closed/empty & had to open specially; very limited drinks choice. Room105 looked into a wall. TV limited English channels. I really enjoyed my stay, but am genuinely bewildered as to how the General has a 5 star rating. For me, location was actually better than being in town centre, but I believe many visitors may be put off.

Had a lovely stay at the hotel general. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, in particular Martin, Vladimir and Veronica who could not do more to make our stay enjoyable. The room was comfortable and had really good AC which was a bonus as Prague can get rather hot! There was also a safe and minibar(didn’t use the MB). Breakfast each morning was superb, you are given unlimited hot drinks and a choice of a hot dish such as omelette, french toast, crepes etc. You also have unlimited access to the continental breakfast bar which had more than enough choice for us and really set us up for each day. The hotel is in the Andel area of prague(pronounced Anyel to the locals). There is a metro station, tramline and bus station nearby, all about a five minute walk away.

a nice small boutique hotel in progue 5, friendly staff, very personal & friendly breakfast service, but not much else at the facility. We stayed at the roof level room with sun roof.. room was clean but too small and ceiling was too low with roof cut the room half. Location was not that great also. Metro station was about 10 min away walking and main Prague attractions like Charles Bridge were about 30 min walking distance away. There is nothing much around hotel - it was more of residential area - except a good bar around the corner. It was pleasant stay although.

Superb find

Fantastic service, spotlessly clean and comfortable room, delicious breakfast buffet and menu with broad choice, good location for tram/metro or walking along the river to attractions. Some good local restaurants and quiet for sleeping. Would def recommend and return.
