Very friendly and helpfull stuff, excellent breakfast, very close to the center (by foot only 20-25 min), Metro and tram station very near (300 m), 3 min to the River Moldavia, secure parking area (duplex) at the backyard of the hotel

This hotel, while being slightly out of the centre of Prague, is a really excellent hotel. Very easy to get to by bus from the airport (I emailed hotel in advance about this and received helpful instructions by return). Five mins walk from bus station, trams and underground. Tram/underground to centre of town takes 15 mins max and is unbelievably cheap. Friendly and helpful staff who spoke excellent English and were so helpful with information regarding how to travel around town. You can buy tickets for public transport, hop on hop off bus and many other tours at Reception. Our room was at the front of the hotel and was rather warm (as was the weather!) and because the air conditioning was not working we had to open our windows which meant our sleep was somewhat disturbed by traffic. Having mentioned this to Reception in the morning they moved us to another (even larger) room on the other side of the hotel where we could sleep happily with windows open. Excellent service in my view. Rooms are spacious and bathroom also very nice. Breakfast very good with many options. The restaurant is also open for lunch and dinner although we didn't use it apart from breakfast.

From the moment we arrived at Hotel General we were made to feel very welcome. We arrived earlier than expected but this did not cause a problem - we were given complimentary coffee and Martin at reception spent a long time with us explaining where all the interesting places to visit were. He gave us a map showing all. Our room was luxurious, very well equipt & spotlessly clean. Breakfasts were good with a wide choice of food. All the Staff we met were courteous and very friendly. This is a hotel we would like to visit again.

Stayed here for a couple of nights and theres nothing to complain about except the location next to a busy street. The double windows reduces the sound level alot so its not too disturbing, do bring earplugs.

The Hotel General really did exceed every high expectation I could muster for our romantic weekend away in Prague. Both my partner and I were absolutely blown away by the overall service provided by this hotel. Everything was absolute perfection. Thank you so much to the team for providing us with a euphoric holiday away.

My husband booked this hotel as a surprise for my 40th birthday and I couldn't have asked for a better hotel. On arrival, we were treated with a very kind and warm reception, a welcome drink, and a thorough and informative talk through the sites of the city. They supplied us with a pocket sized map; telling us where tram stations were and which numbers we needed to get to particular areas of the city. They recommended a great tour, that lasted 6 hours and included hotel pick up, lunch and a boat trip up the river, which they booked for us on our behalf. We were very kindly upgraded to the top suite, which was simply gorgeous. The theme and decor of this hotel is baroque and some might feel old fashioned, but if you like military history then this hotel has gone the extra mile to honour its theme, with each room based on a military general and a page in your room guide designated to the history of your room's General. The room was beautiful, with two bathrooms, and a (very large) comfortable bed. It was clean with all modern facilities. Maid and room service was always prompt and each member of staff we met were warm helpful. The staff love what they do at this hotel, they were passionate about where they worked and we always felt their smiles were genuine. Breakfast was amazing! So much choice and again, wonderful service from the staff. The chef was always keen to know if you enjoyed your meal, another sign of the hotels desire to constantly be offering the best that they could to their guests. Whilst you may not get a river view from your room, we felt this hotel was in a great location to access anywhere in the city. We fell in love with Prague during our stay, and this hotel made our stay even more wonderful. On our last day, they arranged a very reasonable Mercedes taxi transfer back to the airport. While waiting for it to arrive, I watched the fish in the coral tank and felt genuinely sad that we were leaving. We would love to return here one day. Thank you Hotel General for a truly memorable birthday. We ♡ Praha!

Good hotel with good service, some things could be improved but its always something that could be better. But in general for this price the hotel is very very good. Location is okay, abut 25 min walk from city center. I highly recommend it and definitely I will choose it for my next visit.

I booked this hotel for my boyfriends 50th birthday and well what can I say it didn’t disappoint. We had a Double deluxe suite, the room was beautiful, bed was so comfy and we had a bathroom each which was brilliant as I could get ready in one while he was in the other. The staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble, we ate in the hotel resturant on our first night and the chicken was amazing, delicious and tender. Although the hotel is a bit away from the main square it was easy to get too by a lovely walk along g the river which was about 20 mins or we took a tram from across the bridge 5 min walk tram number 17 and takes you right into main old town and only cost 24ckr which worked out about a £1 each. Totally recommend this hotel. Beautiful, quiet and amazing value for money. .

I stayed at this hotel with my wife for the last two nights of February. Having read the five star reviews I was eagerly awaiting our arrival and I have to say just what a wonderful hotel this is, made even better by our free upgrade to a junior suite. The room was just amazing in terms of its appearance and decor. The staff were so kind, informative and helpful and it was a shame we couldn't have stayed longer. However we will be back I am sure. As previous reviewers have said, the hotel is about a 25 minute leisurely walk to Charles Bridge and the Old Town but as it is such a picturesque walk it wasn't a problem for us. There are however many restaurants and a huge shopping mall within a few minutes walk from the hotel should you arrive late on your first day and not fancy the walk in to the main tourist areas. This was only my second visit to Prague, having visited for the first time in 2002. I am however very keen to return much sooner next time. I had forgotten what a lovely city this is.

Stayed here for 3 nights in the first week of February, we had booked a deluxe double but were upgraded to the Julius Caesar suite. Although the decor is a little dated, it suits the hotel and adds to its charm. Staff are friendly and helpful and hotel is spotlessly clean with our room being tidied every day. The dining room doesn't have any windows as such but does have large skylights along one side of the room. Breakfast is basic but sufficient with a good selection of fruit, pastries, breads, cold meat, cheese, yogurts and a few hot items such as fried eggs and bacon, you can order other hot items from menu if desired. There is a bar in the hotel in the cellar(?) but it could do with some heating!! Charles Bridge and main areas around 25 mins brisk walk, typically food/drink is more expensive in these areas but there is an excellent selection of bars/restaurants near hotel that cost less and a good shopping centre less than a 5 minute walk away. All the staff were great and we hope to visit again soon!
