The location of this hotel is everything. Honestly. A few steps and you're up on the Charles Bridge! We had 2.5 days in Prague and this was an excellent base to explore the magical city. Lovely and friendly staff. Very, very clean. Great breakfast options. Couldn't fault them. We had a great stay! Icing on the cake would have been to have a kettle in the room but that wasn't too much of a problem for us as there is a shop right outside.
We stayed here for 4 nights in December and couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice. Situated just at the Castle end of Charles Bridge you are within a 20 minute walk of almost everywhere in the old city centre. There are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants in the near vicinity. ( I can recommend the Tri Stoleti only a minutes walk away and the Beseda Restaurant about 6 mins walk) The staff are all very friendly and helpful. There is a large choice of breads, meat, cheese, cereals etc at breakfast as well as omelettes and ham & eggs cooked to order. I’ve had better coffee but that’s a minor detail. We were 2 couples travelling together and were given rooms 4 & 8 on the first floor. Room 8 had a double aspect over the bridge and canal and a bathroom with bath and shower while room 4 had a view over the canal and a very small shower which made it a bit difficult to turn round never mind reach your feet! Wi-fi in rm 8 was great but very patchy to non-existent at times in rm 4. Apart from those two little niggles the rooms were well heated and the beds and pillows were super comfortable. For what we paid we couldn’t have made a better choice and would most definitely stay there again.
The location is excellent for exploring on both sides of the river. There are MANY restaurants and bars nearby, but the site is still very quiet. The staff is polite and helpful, and the breakfast is very good, including some individually prepared dishes. The breakfast room is small, however, and some people had to wait in the lobby before getting a table. The room was very large and comfortable, with a nice entry and bathroom separate from the bedroom. The mini bar was well stocked. The hotel was able to arrange a driver to pick us up at the airport, which was appreciated given a mid-evening arrival. The hotel is only a five minute walk from a couple of metro stops. Given the price, I highly recommend it.
The location is just about perfect - the only problem being that you end up crossing the Carlbridge several times a day which can be cumbersome with the hordes of tourists. Our room (nr 15) hade a lovely view of the bridge and was clean and comfortable. All in all a basic accomodation at a fair price with an excellent location.
We have just returned from a trip to Europe and spent 3 nights at the Certovka. As with most hotels there is a trade off between price and location. The Certovka has a truely fabulous location with very scenic views, it’s also tucked away from the crowds. The staff were very efficient, the breakfast good and everything clean. The trade off was the room, we had 21 at the very top. It has to be said the room was small with one side of the double bed against the wall which meant climbing over each other to get in at night. In addition the shower cubicle was possibly the smallest we have ever seen, you needed to open the shower door to apply any soap otherwise you could not move. In summary a fantastic location and great staff, the room had an amazing view but the trade off was space.
I spent two nights here in September. It is a small hotel with a great location, fine staff, and wonderful breakfast. It is an old building but the room was modern, clean, comfortable, with new furnishing. The breakfast was excellent with 6 hot meal options that were made to order. View out the windows was beautiful. There was an issue with the bill but the staff resolved the issue in a fair, honest, professional, and quick manner. Will stay here again.
We were at the hotel for 5 days, got treared very kindly, the staff always wanted to help! the rooms are very clean and big. Breakfast includes delicious pastries and breads, every one gets his own especially made eggs. also includes some vegtables, chesses and some meat. The location is right on one side of Charles bridge, Comfortable and quiet. Very recommended!
Stayed for two nights at this small hotel located very conveniently by the Charles Bridge. Reasonable price, comfortable accommodation, enjoyable breafast (hot and cold) and very helpful staff. Hotel is in the perfect location to explore the sights on foot on both sides of the river. Would highly recommend for visits without the need for transportation.
We were here in this hotel last year. Perfect choice, the view to the Charles bridge was awesome. Very attentive staff helping you out and introducing attractions in different places. Breakfast was enough and very good. We did appreciated so much and did not regret of our choice of getting this hotel.
We stayed here for 4 nights and we were delighted with our choice. We were no more than 100s of metres from all the sights we wished to see and and surrounded by numerous restaurants.the view from our room overlooked the bridge but was still quiet. The breakfast was very adequate served by a very plesent girl.Thoroughly recommend this hotel
