As the years pass and with the advancements in technology, we forget how simplest things make a world of difference. The Golden Well Hotel in Prague brings that experience to life in their service, their food, the music and the ambience. Our car dropped us off on the uphill street leading up to the hotel. Since most vehicles could not fit up the road, we were met by an individual who helped us with our bags. He had his cart ready to assist us with our luggage and escort us to the front of the hotel. When you arrive at the hotel, you almost feel like you are walking into a someone's house. The gate that serves as the entrance to the hotel grounds felt like I was re-living a scene from a movie. Once you enter, you are greeted by the someone in reception who will check you in. If memory serves me correct, it was Ivan who helped us. The lobby of the hotel is old but full of charm, there are antiques all around the ambience makes you forget about your devices as your eyes continue to wander around looking at the furniture and how well kept everything was. The check-in process - I now know why there are no negative reviews for this hotel. When we were checking in at the lobby, we were asked what type of drinks we would like as a "Welcome Drink", the rooms and it's amenities were thoroughly explained, our bags were brought up to our room prior to us entering it and we were given a voucher for a night cap at the bar. Now most people may not have the patience for the manual process of getting the guests information. In fact, most, if not all, of our information was handwritten. Me, on the other hand, appreciated that level of attention to detail. It showed class! The room - It was as if I was looking at a picture from Town & Country magazine. It was extremely charming and had all the right ingredients to make our stay comfortable and make one want to relax while incorporating the basic necessities of modern living (decent WiFi, Apple TV, Relaxing Music and a Nespresso machine). Another piece of detail I appreciated was since there were three of us, my wife, daughter and myself, they had already set up a bed for my daughter without us asking. The food - I can only comment on breakfast most of the time we were out and about. But based on breakfast alone, we were impressed. Most hotels offer a full service buffet with a mix of cuisines to cater to the different guest. For the Golden Well, less means more. When I say more, I mean more flavour and more finesse. I had the Royal Breakfast every morning which really was just two eggs, potatoes and sausages but it was picture perfect every single time. It was the right portion for the day and one can never say that it won't make you full as visually, it already fills the stomach. The location - The people who have stayed at the Golden Well were not kidding when they said that it's a 10 minute walk to Charles Bridge and 15 minutes to Old Town Square...it was that close for a small walk. Even if you go further than Old Town Square, places of interest are relatively close. After heavily using Uber in Paris and Rome, walking was nice change. I could go on and on about the Golden Well and the experience but it is better off that you experience it on your own. To the staff at the Golden Well Hotel in Prague, Thank You for our stay in Prague and your hotel a memorable one. We hope to see you again, when we return!

I stayed at The Golden Well about 2 years ago and was blown away. On a trip back to Prague to see the Christmas markets, The Golden Well was the only hotel I considered. The first time I stayed here, it was the best hotel that I have ever stayed at. The second time that I stayed here, it is still the best hotel that I have ever stayed at. All of the staff are always smiling and offer friendly greetings with a smile whenever they see you. Ivan, Marek, and Martina were extremely nice, and the Director of Operations, Michal, personally followed up after we left to see how our stay had been. Just the best service from the time we made the reservation, during our stay, and after our stay. What I recommend: Splurge on the Tyco Brahe Suite. The room is fantastically appointed with an amazing view of the city. The bathroom has an amazingly large bath tub that my wife swam in every night. The Molton Brown bath products that they use smell amazing!! The living area of the room is rich with color, has a phone that you can use during your stay. Room service is great, and the breakfast is very nice with the best yogurt that I have ever had. We had dinner at the Restaurant Terasa was beyond good...my mouth is watering just thinking about the dinner, try the Royal Steak from Argentinean Breed Angus! The location of the hotel is perfect too. It is very close to the castle district and The Charles Bridge, but it is tucked away so that you don't hear any of the crowds of people that are walking around. Everything about this hotel is perfect. This is a hotel that everyone must stay at least one time in their lives. Thank you for making our trip amazing. We will be back!!!

We’ve just had two nights at this glorious hotel. A 5 Star haven amidst the madness of Prague during a very cold January. The rooms are great and the beds, linen and pillows are to die for. We were given welcome drinks on arrival and two more free cocktails on one of the nights in the hotel. It also boats the finest restaurant in all of Prague. Don’t bother looking at other hotels in the are - just do yourself a favour and book here. You will not be disappointed. The staff who work here set the standards in customer service.

I have been all over Europe and have stayed at excellent 5 star hotels. The Golden Well is one of my favorites. Comfortable, clean, attractive and excellent location make this hotel a must. Perfect for touring all areas of Prague!

Perfect for the castle visit and away from the crowds. Being on the Hradčany and Lesser Townside of the river, its quieter. Only a short walk (approx. 10 mins) across either the Mánesův or Charles bridge to Old Town. There is also, tram or underground. A neat narrow entranceway to the secluded hotel make is a bit different. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Also a lounge to relax and partake of the canapés late afternoon. Room was immaculately clean and spacious with all room mod cons. Free Wifi. A unique feature of the room was the use a Samsung Galaxy 8 that you could take out with you during the day. There was a local App that provided tourist info, maps and of course local phone. Breakfast in the Terasa Restaurant is a must not least for the panoramic views of the Prague skyline. Wonderful on a bright sunny morning.

Everything you could want, gracious and helpful staff, beautiful and very clean rooms and public areas, perfect location up against the castle walls and easy walk to the center of the Old City. AND automated, heated toilet seats that function as a night light (just press a button and voila). If you are transferring to and from airports they also have an excellent taxi service.

Friendly staff , great quite location, amazing facilities (the toilet, OMG ). We had a welcome tour including free drinks and we got a small desert to our room every night. Room is spotless and spacious, LOVED IT- Didn't want to leave.

What a terrific hotel. Effortlessly classy throughout every minute of our stay. The Golden Well is a proper hotel full of old world charm and the best customer service you will find anywhere. From front desk to the restaurant you are so well looked after. Care and attention to detail could be found in every aspect of our stay. We loved our room over looking the palace gardens. The little touches like the in-room ipad and the really useful iphone loaded with all sorts of useful information about Prague were innovative and welcome. It was just a brilliant experience from start to finish and we can't wait to visit again.

My wife, 7 year old daughter, and I stayed here for 2 nights in December 2017. It was a repeat visit for my wife and I from 10 years earlier. It was wonderful then and is still great. From check in to check out the staff was wonderful. We arrived and they promptly took our bags up and gave us cookies and something to drink. Breakfast was a little pricey, but well worth the money. Their restaurant is a must visit at least for the view. They set up a bed for my daughter in the room before we arrived and had a special towel and bathrobe just for her. She loved the turndown service which came with cake. The room came with an iPad and a smartphone we could use free of charge. The location is excellent for visiting the castle, the Charles bridge, malastrava, and Petrin Hill. It is a hike from old town though. Malastrava is soooo much better to stay than old town though. It is less choked with tourists and has much better restaurants. There are not good public transportation options to old town. Even then, it's only a 15-20 minute walk. Let me just sum all this up though by saying that after a ten day trip to Austria, The Czech Republic and Germany, both my wife and daughter said this hotel was their favorite part of the trip.

We chose the Golden Well for our 3 night break to Prague. The welcome in Reception was the best we have ever had. Our room was large, comfortable and very clean. It included an Ipad and smart phone for our use and also a very funky toilet! The hotel is ideally situated in a quiet area underneath the castle. It takes about 15 mins to walk from the hotel to either the castle or the Old Town Square. We were pleased to be away from all the crowds. Every afternoon the hotel provides complimentary drinks and snacks in the lounge room, which is a nice touch when you have spent the day walking in the cold. Breakfast is quite pricey but they do try and make it very special. the views from the restaurant are fabulous. Highly recommended.
