We stayed 3 nights at this beautiful hotel on our first visit to Prague. The hotel is well located - within 10 minutes walking distance to the Old Town Square. We had 2 interconnecting rooms for our family of 4. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The hotel staff are super friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay at this hotel again!
This hotel is beautiful, as others have noted. And the staff was excellent. But I encountered several annoying little things that would cause me to go elsewhere when next in Prague. First, the lockbox in the room was, literally, on the floor of the closet. I had to lay down on the floor to read the instructions on how to set the lock. After that, you open and close it only after bending way over. Second, the light switches are hard to discern and there is no consistency in terms of how to turn lights on and off. Some are "dial" switches, some switches are on the wall next to the light, still others are near the door. Maybe it's just me, but I don't want to have to think about how to turn a light off and on. Finally, The bathroom floor is very slippery, the tub/shower is several inches higher than the floor, and there is no slip-resistance in the shower. Which means that getting in and out of the shower is way more dangerous than it should be. Sorry, but little things add up.
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and wanted a luxury hotel within easy reach of the old Town. We booked the Art Deco Hotel Imperial on the strength of reviews on here and were not disappointed. We had a larger room on the 5th floor which was beautifully furnished. As the weather was hot the AC was very welcome and the room was well equipped with TV, fridge, hairdryer, bathrobes and safe. The staff were very professional and treated us very well indeed. The location is great as we were only a short walk from the Municipal House in Namesti Rebupliky and we took the guided tour and ate there in the marvellous Francouska Restaurant. Its a lovely Hotel and we would have no hesitation recommending it.
The hotel's interiors especially the cafe downstairs facing the road and the entrance where the stairs take centrestage. We enjoyed languid breakfasts watching the world go by outside. The room is spacious, albeit a little dark. Bathroom was huge and the bathtub, as everyone pointed, is very high and hence we were very careful about it. The concierge was very helpful in giving directions and recommendations. We were very happy with the location of the hotel, a short walk from Old Towns Square and hence a little away from the madness and crowd. We had one minor issue. The grill on the window sill was broken ( it had the AC inside) and it was a hazard for our very active 7 year old also since his bed was right next to it. No one bothered to fix it in our 4 night stay despite being told about it.
I recently stayed at this hotel along with my wife, daughter and her partner. My daughter booked the hotel to celebrate my 60th birthday. On arrival at Prague Airport were picked up by limousine and driven to the hotel. The beautiful Art Deco features all round the hotel and in the bedroom felt like we had stepped back into the early 20th Century. The stunning restaurant with its mosaic walls and ceiling created a lovely ambience when we had dinner there on our first evening. The food was excellent . Likewise at breakfast. Although buffet style there were plenty of choices and ample amounts. The bedrooms were large with high ceilings and marble tiled bathrooms. Large comfortable bed with furniture mirrors and lamps in keeping with the Art Deco style. Our room 217 faced to the rear of the hotel and the noise of the passing trams were just about audible. This might be worth considering when booking your room. What we lacked in views from the room we gained in peacefulness. Special mention must go to the staff. A complimentary bottle of sparkling wine and a bowl of strawberries arrived in our room to celebrate my birthday. Thanks Ralitsa from guest relations. The hotel also made a beautiful birthday cake at my daughter's request. Further to this the reception staff and the concierge service were full of good suggestions and local knowledge and organised a tour of the city by vintage car as well as taxis to and from recommended restaurants. All in all we had a lovely 4 night stay at this hotel which added to our enjoyment of beautiful Prague and if we return one day I would have no hesitation in a further stay at the Art Deco Imperial.
Truly lovely hotel- staff were so friendly, room was well equipped. Amazingly comfy bed! Breakfast in their famous cafe was absolutely delicious and was a buffet style so able to fill up for the day! Only fault we had was that the bath was sloped and very high and I slipped and injured myself as there was not a matte covering of the surface to prevent this. The bruises prevented me wearing dresses for the rest of the holiday- so just take care!
Myself and 3 friends stayed 4 nights at the hotel it was amazing, staff so friendly and helpful, I have never stayed in such a beautiful hotel food was delicious couldn't find fault with anything will look forward too returning .
Hi all Where do I start? Perhaps with Gate 1 Cruise from Prague to Budapest or else I would not have been in this hotel. I highly recommend Gate 1 Travel & simply can't wait to be on their next cruise! 3 nights here had been fabulous with all sight seeing and excursions followed by the restaurants in the evenings. Regards Jan
Stayed at the Art Deco Imperial from 23rd - 26th May as part of a couple of overseas trips. The hotel is ideally located for pretty much every thing. Probably a half hour from the airport (650-700ck so about £30 odd). Old town is a bit of a walk but again not an issue when enjoying the beautiful buildings Prague has to offer. We walked over Charles Bridge to Old Town on the first day and were not the fittest 😀Also good choice of public transport but we were well warned about unlicensed taxis so be aware unless you secure a fixed cost. We stayed in room 118 which was at the rear of the hotel. It was a lovely room with two toilets and although a bit dark at the rear it was perfect for us. There is some noise from the trams but again not an issue for us, merely a symptom of having a good transportation system. Staff we encountered were extremely helpful so absolutely no complaints in this regard. The hotel gave us complimentary champers & strawberries with a lovely note congratulating us on our silver wedding anniversary which was a nice touch and most appreciated (thanks very much Petra) Only having a three nights in Prague we were out a lot so didn't fully use the facilities, dining or bar but we really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone and would also say that Prague is a beautiful city with lots to see and do - Architecturally stunning in fact.
Stayed at this hotel for a three night break with friends. It really is very beautifully decorated and very clean. All of the staff were very helpful and efficient. The breakfast was very impressive with a wide range of choices to suit everyone. We were able to walk easily to all of the local tourist sites even the Castle on the far side of the river was about a 30 minute walk back to the hotel. (We did catch a tram up the hill - then walked back down the steps to the river that took 10 minutes.) Were were in Room 108 over looking the road at the side of the hotel we were not disturbed by any traffic noise. One note of caution with this room. The bathroom is very small. It has a large deep bath with a shower at the far end. We are very able physically and found it very difficult to get in and out of the shower. There is nothing to hold on to, and with the shower screen able to move the entrance was very tight. When leaving the bath it was even more dangerous, the bath when wet is difficult to get out of as the sides slope inwards at the base. The bath is higher than the floor so there is quite a drop down. We did mention this on our feedback survey and to the Reception Staff. The bath should be removed and a walk in shower cubicle installed. I recommend that a Senior Manager has a shower in Room 108 to see for themselves how dangerous it is. However we would not hesitate to return. Very good value and service.
