We stayed at the Archibald at the Charles Bridge hotel for four nights, in a two room apartment on the second floor, with free wi-fi, tea and coffee making facilities and a stocked bar fridge. A lift provides easy access to the various floors. The hotel is in a quiet pedestrian zone next to the Charles Bridge, and close to the Vltava River and Kampa Garden park. Our apartment rooms were very clean and spacious, each with air conditioning, which was appreciated as the weather was very warm while we were there. The hotel provides a complimentary breakfast in the restaurant, which was fresh and tasty. Additionally a free snack is available in reception from 12-3 pm, while the hotel restaurant serves delicious meals for dinner at very reasonable prices. The availability of a 20% discount voucher makes eating at the restaurant very attractive. The reception staff was very helpful and obliging, and staff in the restaurant friendly and efficient. Cleaning staff did an excellent job servicing the rooms. We would certainly stay there again, without hesitation.
The hotel is located a stone throw from Charles bridge and you are in walking distance to all major tourist attractions. Seriously.... This is not only one of the nicest and the cleanest hotels that I have ever stayed in. But the staff are also extremely helpful. Nothing was ever too much trouble. It was my birthday whilst we were out there and the lovely Jan bought me a big bottle of champagne to our room, to wish me a happy birthday from the hotel!! So thoughtful!! I would highly recommend staying in this hotel. We are hoping to return to Prague in the near future and without a doubt, we will definitely be returning to this hotel.
The hotel is so beautiful, located in a charming square at the Charles Bridge. The room is so charming and cozy, the breakfast is delicious and the staff lovely and helpful. I also recommend the bistro in the back, where you can eat a good schnitzel and have a beer watching the river in a sunny day under the trees. Just perfect!
This hotel is the perfect location for a trip to Prague. A quiet haven within walking distance to the old town and castle. I found some members of staff not very friendly or helpful and our rooms were on the budget side but thank goodness they did have wonderful air conditioning and were spotless. Breakfast was ok.
Great view to the charles bridge, walking distance from city main spots (charles bridge, castle, clock, old time sq, etc). Very clean..really nice staff. AC works like a champ (very important in Europe, specially during summer time)
The hotel is so close to everything in Prague, all in walking distance. Breakfast is delicious and they also offered afternoon snack for free. You also get 20 per cent off for dinning in their restaurant. The front people are very friendly. Jan has made me feel welcome in the hotel.
We could only get two nights at the Archibald at the Charles Bridge.....that was the only down part of our stay. The biggest rooms by far on our trip. We had two Twin XL's pushed together to make a king. There was also a pull out sofa (not an uncomfortable Hyde bed). I ended up on it as the main mattress was a bit too firm. Could have used a small fridge (there was a pay bar fridge in the room that I could squeeze a drink or two into). We had air conditioning that was great. There were restaurants all around. You are at the base of one of the biggest tour attractions, the Charles Bridge. It's a lovely walk across and should be done at all times of day especially at night as the views of the lit up Prague Castle are breath taking. We were on the front side of the hotel (not facing the river) but had a great look at the activities of travellers dining and walking by the courtyard / entrance of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was included (long hours!) was great and also the complementary "snack" (small basic sandwiches, soup and bread) served between 1 - 4 was a bonus!!!! We would definitely stay at the Archibald at the Charles Bridge again! Steve & Carly Surrey BC
This hotel is a little gem in Prague. It is perfectly located right on the river and very close to the Charles Bridge, and yet, despite the popularity of the area, it is peaceful and has some lovely views. Service was efficient, friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful room on the top floor - very spacious, beautiful view, comfortable. Worth paying more for one of the 'better' rooms and higher floors. Breakfast was fairly standard for a good hotel, but good, and substantial enough. The down side was that the food at the restaurant in the evening was a disappointment. Clearly not freshly cooked, but heated up (it appeared within minutes of ordering), and one portion undercooked. So I wouldn't recommend the restaurant for an evening meal. However, let this not put you off the hotel. For a comfortable place full of character in a perfect location for both sides of the river, this is a perfect choice.
Very good location by the Charles bridge. Prague is walkable town and staying on a quite side is a bonus. Room was very clean but without view. Found out that you should request the view room otherwise they put wherever is available. Breakfast just ok.
We were extremely impressed with this wonderful hotel in Mala Strana. The hotel is situated in an idyllic courtyard on the Vitava River, conveniently located near the Charles Bridge, Little Quarter Square, and Lennon Wall. The hotel is only about a 15 minute walk from other attractions such as Prague Castle (up the hill) and Old Town Square (across the bridge). The hotel offers an excellent breakfast in its attached restaurant, and our room was the cleanest, largest, and most comfortable we stayed in during our trip to five European cities. The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful, providing extra towels and booking a taxi back to the airport for us. We used both the free wifi and the computer in the lobby, which is available for guests to use. We highly recommend the Archibald and would love to stay there again in the future.
