I was there for a quick solo trip to explore the city, stayed 3 nights. If you want a place that is clean, beautiful, quite & good value for the money, but in the centre of everything, this is the place. Easy walking distance to just about everything. Fantastic room with great views of the Charles Bridge, close to the bridge, not as noisy as other hotels. Small, good service, no restaurant (there is one across the street), they give you a decent breakfast & tea coffee available all day. Very clean, staff were very helpful.
Arrived too early for check in at 10am on a Sunday. Was told we could leave bags and if we wanted go help ourselves to some free breakfast. Rooms are spacious and clean, great location. What’s not to like
We stayed for three nights at this hotel and paid 20 euros a night extra to be in a top floor, river view room as it was for a special occasion. The room was spacious and comfortable with a truly amazing view of the Charles Bridge and the river (see the photos from our window). The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was large and comfortable so you really could not fault it. The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived and even lent us an umbrella when it rained! Breakfast is served in a lovely room and there was plenty of choice - even for an awkward vegetarian. During the day you can help yourself to coffee and pastries, sandwiches or even soup that is left out in case you are hungry - unfortunately there is so much tempting food in Prague you are very rarely hungry. The hotels position is perfect, it feels quiet and out of the way despite being right next to all the top tourist spots. The Old Town and Astronomical Clock are five minutes walk away (as is the Prague Beer Museum) and the Charles Bridge is right there. We walked everywhere when we stayed and found the location to be easily accessible for each destination. We had an great time in Prague and will definitely stay in this hotel again when we next visit.
The hotel is in a great location. It is right next to the Charles bridge and easy to access every tourist point. Unfortunately that is the only good thing about it. The room we got was pretty simple with no bath( only a standing shower). During the day time there was a lot of drilling noise. We complained about it to the receptionist but it seemed like she couldnt care less. The breakfast was simple but actually quite sufficient and also the dining room is open from 12-22 every day and serves drinks and snacks (mostly non-edible food in our opinion). We felt the service was poor and really felt disappoinment because of the noise. I would have considered it a good hotel if the price had been cheaper. For the price they charged us, we had much higher expactations!
The room was furnished to an extremely high standard and selflessly clean. The location is perfect being very close to Charles Bridge and within walking distance of most of the major tourist attractions though really quiet. The reception staff were great in offering advice and directions and also organising taxis and airport transfers. The restaurant only serves breakfast which had a good choice and was frequently replenished, but there are so many good restaurants within walking distance that not offering dinner wasn't an issue. Would look to stay here again should we choose to visit Prague again. Ian and Jinny Johnson. Cardiff.
Located next to Charles bridge and next to Vltava river, the small hotel offers convenience and personal service. The breakfast is ok- ish, there is buffet all day long - snack and sandwiches FOC. Our room was in small new building in the backyard, almost like bungalow, but with all benefits of well equipped hotel room. It was clean and well maintained, but with really small window.
... warm and welcoming to look at, warm on the feet too (lovely underfloor heating in bathroom). Rad in room you can control yourself, plus aircon (but didn't touch this as it was March)!. Lovely clean room with unique individual pieces of furniture in keeping with hotel as a whole. Stunning archway brick top in the restaurant. We had a lovely view of the river and Charles Bridge on the 1st floor. Nice toiletries included as well as hairdryer. Your standard tea/coffee making facilities. TV with lots of channels (only 1 or 2 English). We booked a double room although it was 2 singles pushed together. Was never going to drop through the gap though because there wasn't one; just thought I would mention in case it would bother you, therefore email or call them and make sure you get what you want/like. Breakfast included: cereals/yoghurts/breads & rolls/fruit/ ham & cheeses/bacon & eggs/tea & coffee machine/fruit juices etc. They also provide (similar) snacks throughout the day, salad/fruit/soup/pasta/ham & cheese etc. Handy computers and printer in Reception for you to use should you need to. Books and magazines too. Staff on Reception are all lovely. We see at least 4 or 5 different reception staff and they were all friendly and helpful. Location wise it is spot on. Quiet of a night but only seconds away from Charles Bridge which you can cross and within minutes be in the Old Town. Cleaners were good too as well as the builders/decorators who were working in the room next door; they did start at 8am and to be totally honest, we weren't told anything about it which I think they should have done, they should have told us. It did wake me up one morning but then it's not the end of the world. Just think it would have been polite to be informed, but I have to say, the builder/decorators even say hello/good morning. There's a room you can leave your cases in. Overall a really lovely stay at a pleasant hotel. I would definitely stay here again if I visited Prague again.
This hotel was a bit of a life saver for our arrival in Prague. After delayed trains and planes it was around 1 in the morning when we arrived. I called ahead to warn them of our delays earlier but they told us not to worry and that they are open all night. While that was the case one never knows what they will find arriving that late. The staff were attentive, polite and wonderful with not the bat of an eyelid over our late arrival. It was fantastic and the room was great and ready to go when we walked in allowing us to crash and get some sleep since we had an activity booked early the next day. We found a breakfast selection in the morning lovely. I was particularly pleased to find a good supply of earl grey and fruit teas. My partner enjoyed the sausage and hash browns. The room was beautifully cleaned daily and the information stands in the foyer were a great source of ideas for what to do. Check out was a completely painless experience as well. The Archibald was a wonderfully convenient and smooth hotel stay that I would recommend to others in future.
Lovely hotel. Perfect location for all sights. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room was perfect, clean, warm and comfortable. Breakfast had everything you would want, eggs, bacon, potatoes, fruit, yoghurt etc. Quiet side of the Charles Bridge. Loved it!
Stayed here for a few days, while visiting Prague in early March. The hotel is located on the Kampa island, right by the entrance to the Karluv Most (Charles Bridge), so it's super close to all the main sights. Breakfast was included in the price - a nice buffet, but nothing extraordinary. On cold early March nights, I was particularly fond of the heated floors in the bathroom - nice touch. The shower was tiny - a cabin, but ok. Overall, a clean, nice small hotel, near everything you may want to do in Prague.
