Archibald At the Charles Bridge

The hotel is situated in an excellent location near the Charles Bridge. Our room was clean and spacious with plenty wardrobe and drawer space. The reception staff were very pleasant. The restaurant provided good food at a reasonable price, and the service was good. Our only disappointment was the breakfast, which was not to our taste. In particular there was an absence of plain fresh bread (either rolls or loaf). Overall I have not hesitation in recommending this hotel.

We recently spent 5 nights in Prague at this hotel. Every night we returned to our room I told my husband we chose the best place in the city. That being said, we were tourists visiting for the first time and loved being steps from all the touristy sights. The street is quiet enough but so close to the Charles Bridge. I'm so happy we chose to stay in Mala Strana vs Old Town. It had slightly less crowds and plenty to see and do. The room was nice, clean but not overly spectacular. Our room was situated in the garden and really had no view. However, we were only in the room to sleep and spent most of the day walking and enjoying the city. A great location to stop back to put your bags down, use the bathroom, take a nap etc. Morning coffee and included breakfast was perfect for hub and myself. Have to give 5 stars for the location and overall value of this hotel.

We booked this hotel for a quick weekend trip based on a friend's recommendation. Wow, what a true gem of Prague. It is located across the river from the old town just 100 meters from the famous Charles Bridge. You can purchase parking right out front for 20 Euro and the fantastic breakfast is included. The rooms are super clean and the walls are thick. From your room, it is only 1 minute into the great sights and sounds, but inside it is clean and quiet. We are already planning our next trip there!!!

Stayed here recently for 6 nights....after a recommendation from my brother. Check in was quick and easy, and staff very friendly. We used the hotel car service...which was a little expensive, but well worth it after a long flight....it was a brand new Mercedes-Benz...and it was immaculate. My dad and i made our way to our room, which was situated on a small court yard. The room was very clean, and bathroom spotless. We grabbed the 2 beers from the mini bar to celebrate our arrival in Prague, after a long 23 hour flight from Australia. We finished the beers and decided to head into the restaurant for a few more. We picked a table on the street outside. The waiter came out and took our order. I asked for two beers to accompany our meals, only to be told that they were out of all beer....tap and bottled!! NO BEER IN A CZECH RESTAURANT !!!!! The waiter tried to explain the reasons behind this.....but due to a bit of a language barrier, it really didnt make any sense. Breakfast was of a high standard and changed daily. Our mini bar was never re-stocked with the beers that we drank on day one, which didnt matter as beer is cheaper at the supermarkets anyway....but besides the point. Also, upon inspection, some of the water bottles in the mini bar had been used...and refilled. House keeping wasn't great, as our used coffee cups weren't changed on more than 1 occasion, nor was the coffee sachets replaced. Location is great, front of house staff very friendly, just expected to get better service for what we payed for the accommodation. Would i stay here again.... yes probably, it wouldn't take much to get this place up to standard.

Stayed there for 4 nights recently. It is right by the Charlie Bridge. Its rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast has big variety and good quality. For the price we paid, it has to be the best value in Prague.

What a place for location.. We parked right outside having booked one of the four spaces Nice service Great eateries around Super breakfast Room we had was the family one which was all good. Nice view from room..

You visit Prague to feel....Prague. The jewel of the city is its architecture, and the Archibald reflects the feel of Old World Charm while rendering modernity that does not interfere with tradition. Traveling solo, my room on the 4th floor was quite spacious, under the eaves (no, not head-bumping). Also a plus; the bathroom is large AND boasts a bathtub as well as shower which is always welcome at the end of a long touring day. Located in a little plaza at the foot of the (castle side) of the Charles Bridge, the site could not be better as it is literally in the center of what most travelers hope to take in. IT IS QUIET. Being in the "middle of everything" sometimes translates to "noisy and crowded". It is quiet. Breakfast is INCLUDED in your stay, served in the restaurant until 10:30 AM (a bonus, yes?...who wants to set their alarm to make it in time for breakfast?); and offers more than enough to fuel you for touring. The staff is helpful, welcoming. TRANSPORTATION to and from the airport or main train station. My recommendation--unless you are familiar with Prague's public transport which can be tricky--is to take a taxi; coming into Prague via train, it cost less than $25 (including tip) to go to the hotel. Leaving, the hotel staff arranged for a car (a Mercedes no less) to take me to the airport from the Archibald; cost was a little over $30--(pay in Koruna, Euro or credit card) and was money well spent. Though my Prague Travel Guide lists this as a "luxury hotel", it was highly affordable, what I would consider as mid-range. The only criticism I have is slight; being a solo traveler, it would be nice to have one English-speaking television channel if that is at all possible or movie selection of the same. Again, a small request.

Location is excellent near Charles Bridge in a calm square, but the nearest parking is about 1 Km away and very expensive. Big room but old fashioned and should be refurbished. Breakfast is just good.

Despite the inevitable problems of a renovated old building (eg you had to move the table to unplug the lamp to plug in the kettle) and the typical little things that annoy fussy people (limited choice of tea in the room), this was perfect for our stay. It's absolutely ideal for access to the Charles Bridge and historic Old Town as well as restaurants, theatres and so on. Breakfast choices were plentiful; dinner fairly standard. Staff all pleasant and helpful.

the hotel was right up at charles bridge . few 100m from the old citycenter . with a lot of beautiful old buildings .a cyti with a lot of history . and in my opinion ,very nice at night .a lots of nice places to drink and eat .
