Our first visit to Prague and the Appia Hotel proved to be an inspired choice. Great location - quiet but within easy walking distance of Castle area and Old Town. Even the basic room was of good quality - being large, very clean and well kept. Breakfasts were very good - with wide range of fruit, cooked and cold selections. However, the strongest aspect of the Appia offering is their people. Of those we most interacted with, Lucie on reception was brilliant. Very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The multi talented Daniel was really terrific too. Nothing was too much trouble and his customer service was exemplary. I'd say a couple of real stars in the H&Hotel employee line up.
We have just got home following a 3 night stay at the Appia. I echo what other reviews have highlighted: Perfect location, as it is down a quiet street but still just a short walk from the castle and hustle and bustle of St Charles Bridge. Staff are so helpful from reception to staff who served breakfast. The breakfast is plentiful. Our room was very spacious, very comfortable and clean and we had a small courtyard outside. It is the little extras which really make the difference and add to the stay, slippers and robes, toiletries and fresh fluffy towels daily in our room. We must also recommended Santini Garden restaurant which is just around the corner from the hotel. We are already hoping to return next year and wil recommend Appia to family and friends.
Really quiet, cool and peaceful oasis of calm. In the embassies district so only a short walk to the Charles Bridge and all the bustle of the old city. Room was amazing for the price - huge lounge area and large bedroom and bathroom.
Stayed at the Appia Residence Inn for 3 nights. What a lovely and quiet location, very comfortable. Bathrooms fully updated and clean, yet the bedrooms evoked some old world charm with beautiful furniture. Beds were good. AC available, though we used it only a bit. Breakfast in the historic upstairs dining room was very fresh, and varied. Always fresh baked goods, fresh fruit, and assorted other spreads. Champagne was offered on the weekend days! Nearby there are two good restaurants (Santini's and U Magistrate Kelly) which the staff at Appia suggested wisely. The staff were friendly and informative. What more can I say - it was a great stay.
My sister and I stayed at the Appia and the rooms were wonderful. Elegant and with all the details, thick towels, slippers, large beds and a nice terrace. The staff was very kind and helpful, the breakfast was delicious and varied daily and, the rooms very clean. We where very happy the hotel is on a quiet street, close to trams, Prague Castle, and excellent restaurants on foot. All this and the price is modest by European standards. A great value.
While Prague, especially its Staré Město (old town) neighborhood, was crawling with tourists in June of 2017, the Appia Hotel Residences provided us with a serene retreat. The 2 suites and 1 room that we booked were spacious and comfortable for all 7 members of our party. My bed was especially comfortable and the breakfast buffet was lavish. It offered delicious baked eggs, a variety of meats and artisan breads, fresh fruit, and exquisite pastries. The Appia is located in Mala Straná, the charming and picturesque neighborhood just down the hill from Prague Castle and just opposite the Vltava River from Staré Město, the Times Square of Prague. This is a convenient location if you don't mind, enjoy or need to do a little walking (especially after eating a rich Czech meal). If you ever need a lift, the Appia staff are ready to help 24/7. The workers we encountered were always courteous, genuinely friendly, and attentive. I was tickled that the tall, thin, quiet young man who worked at the breakfast buffet remembered exactly what type of coffee I drink and delivered it to my table every morning after my first day without my having to request it. For the high levels of service and comfort it offers, and given its convenient location, the Appia is, by far, one of the best deals in town.
Had a wonderful stay at Appia in July 2017 with my wife. Very close to the castle and a 10 min walk into the old town. Spacious rooms and we had a little outdoor courtyard too. Staff very helpful and the area is quiet but still close enough to walk everywhere in Prague. Breakfasts were very tasty and fast wifi. Would definitely return.
Appia is a great hotel if you want to be a little away from the city centre and don't mind not having a view from your room. The 2 room suite is very spacious for families. The breakfast area is charming and offers a wide variety. the staff is pleasant and helpful. We found it a bit inconvenient to lug our bags all the way from the tram to the hotel as it was a bit of a walk. Other than that our stay was lovely.
Stayed in July as a group of 5. Booked the two bed appt and shared the cost which was cost effective. Room was 5* two private bedrooms and sofa bed with kitchenette & 2 bathrooms and large balcony. Hotel is situated perfectly in an area just under the castle (5 min walk) and just up a small steady stroll from the main areas bridge/ clock/ old town (15 mins) all is within easy walking. The hotel is in the middle of the embassies, so police around searching vehicles and felt very safe. The breakfast was good, our favourite was the pancakes and 'Daniel' who greets every morning with a smile. Very attentive and helpful, added that personal touch, what an asset to a hotel. To be honest all of the staff were of a very high standard, the reception assisted greatly with my direct booking (was easy and cheaper direct via email). Great for organising taxis, sorting me out with an umbrella for unexpected rain, a fast and informative check in. The 3 people we dealt with at reception were brilliant!! The hotel has character, personal touches and is absolutely spotless! The staff are great (not what we experienced elsewhere so was of a high standard). I would not have stayed anywhere else and would recommend to anyone wanting a sightseeing, stag free holiday. A truly top notch hotel in Prague.
This hotel is very charming and quiet. The staff was friendly and polite. In addition they are also very helpful. They prepared a bed for my daughter (the couch) and make sure that we had a great room to stay at during our time in Prague when they found out that the room we were supposed to stayed at had a problem. Breakfast place and food was awesome.
