Aparthotel Sibelius3.0 out of 5.0

The Hotel lays in an old bourgeois quarter, the earlier vineyard of Prague and it has the rooms of old bourgeois Charme - very large rooms. It's very easy to come in the center, there's a subway 500m away and a tram 200m away, both go directly in the center. But it's also only a walk of 10-15 minutes. All the folks in the reception speak absolutely good English and are very helpful, if yo need a note, where to go or where something is. The Hotel is very clean, It is cleaned every day. The best, you have a big kitchen, where you can cook or eat just a bread. There are a lot of restaurants around, but in America-Street is a wonderful Italien Shop, where you can buy very good foot and drink an espresso. So, if you don't want to go out for an evening, you just make your foot by yourself. Otherwise, go to the Pizzeria on top of "Namesti Miru" and have Italian food or pizza for less money and very good taste. Hotel Sibelius - or the partner hotel Orion - are since 11 years my first choice with students (I'm an emeritus professor of arts & philosophy) or with my family.
I choose the Aparthotel Sibelius for its location -- a vibrant neighborhood out of the tourist-way yet able to go to the center of town easily by tram or even a lovely, long stroll. The reception crew was wonderful and very professional and helpful with any need. There is a lift! and my flat (one more short flight up) was an atelier of sorts with a lovely view, huge space and very, very quiet. All needs provided for, a small kitchenette allowed me to sample the local markets rather than eat out all the time (as I prefer) -- it was all I could ask for. The rooms are spotless. This isn't a 'cush' hotel -- go to the tourist areas for those. Cafes are on every corner and many markets around, and the streets clean. The Sibelius is for those who travel to go local when visiting and I'll return! Also, the neighborhood felt very safe, filled with young families.
On a quiet street, but within walking distance of restaurants and shopping, this is an older hotel with comfortable spacious rooms. Ours had a full kitchen, separate bedroom. Lovely windows. But the mattress needs replacing, very bumpy. Towels were soft and there was a towel warmer. Everything is just a little bit worn- nothing new or super stylish. We were on the third floor and there is an elevator. Or nice big stairs. You get buzzed into the hotel so feels safe and was very quiet. Breakfast is arranged with a close by hotel and it was good. Not the best I have had but juice, cereal, yogurt, breads, coffee, tea, sausage. So all the essentials. Gets crowded so don't leave it til the last minute. Parking was also in a sister property. With a charge. We found both Euros and the Czech money were accepted.
The apartment was lovely, spacious and clean. 24-hour service at the desk and Peter in particular was very helpful and kind, helping us out with directions and such. He really went over and above the call of duty to direct us around Prague so we could enjoy our stay to the utmost.
We stayed here from November 7th until the 14th. The apartment 33 is excellent very large and clean. The staff were excellent. However we inadvertently left behind some jewellery in the safe. I have emailed the hotel twice but have not had the courtesy of a reply. 2 of the items a white gold and emerald ring and a pair of white gold and emerald earrings were a 25th anniversary present for my wife and the other item was a gold cross which was her mothers, now deceased. So if the cleaning staff is not honest I cannot possibly recommend this hotel
I visited Prague for a business trip between the 9th and 12th of November (2016). I'd never stayed in an Aparthotel before, but this was great. I had at my disposal a spacious, clean, well-lit apartment, within walking distance of the tram and Metro (IP Pavlova station). There is a 24-hour reception, manned by courteous staff. Overall a very positive experience.
We just retuned from The Sibelius. We had an attic room which had a large fully equipped kitchen. Four hobs and an oven which suited us as we like to have the option of sometimes self catering. The room was huge, could probably park a car in the bathroom and host a dinner party in the living area. The room was spotless, beds very comfortable and the daily maid service faultless. The front staff were very friendly, efficient and polite. We only had one complaint and that was to ask for an extra pillow (thanks Sharka). The hotel is situated in a beautiful, bohemian quiet area south of the centre of The Old Town, which is easily walkable, maybe 20 mins away. The subway is 10 mins away and is an excellent, cheap way to travel around. Plenty of shops which are far cheaper than the centre of Prague, good pubs, restaurants and cafes`. I'm struggling to find any fault with our stay, only thing I can think of is if you stay on the top floor, the lift only goes as far as the floor below, so there's one flight of (manageable) stairs to go up. Great value for money, well situated and friendly staff. Would definitely return. Recommended!
Recently spent four nights here and was very impressed. Bright, spacious apartment with kitchen diner and two large bedrooms. In a quiet neighbourhood with plenty of pubs and restaurants close by, twenty minute walk to old town square, with a metro station-Namesti Miru close by. Staff were helpful and friendly especially Lukas who fixed our room safe. Breakfast is taken nearby in the Orion Hotel, overall excellent accommodation, highly recommended.
Recently visited Prague with my girlfriend. We were originally set to stay in the hotel Orion. When we arrived we were told due to a problem we had been moved 30 seconds up the road to the hotel Sibelius. When we arrived we were met by friendly staff and a very clean and spacious apartment. Everything was spotless during our stay, the bathroom, bedroom and kitchen. The apartment was also extremely spacious, which you do not often find in hotels in major cities. The staff were always very friendly and attentive. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Wenceslas Square and 20 minutes or so from the Old Town Square. Tram 22 is also ten seconds away from the hotel which takes you right up to Prague castle and beside Charles Bridge. Overall the surrounding area was very nice with some lovely restaurants and places to relax. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit Prague!
I have been many times in Hotel Sibelius. The hotel rooms are nice, large and clean. The staff is helpfull and kind. The surrounding area is one of the best in Prag, full of nice restaurants and cafe, the distance to center by walk or underground is short. I recommend this hotel, the prices are also reasonable.
