Me and a friend stayed here, and the value for money is fantastic. As students we opted for a hotel with a reasonable rating, but good price, and we got better than we expected... Not much time is spent in a hotel during a City break which also justified our decision, but the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel is great, with air conditioning included which was much needed during summer! The staff at reception were very helpful and booked excursions for us as well as taxis to the airport. Don't be deceived by the distance from the centre...we spent most days walking to the likes of Wenceslas Square and the Old Town Square...this is a 30 minute walk max. Ideal if you're planning on saving money, but if you're a family with young children you'd be better off paying for transport, or getting somewhere closer to the attractions.
The hotel was clean and the location was quite good too (pretty close to the Old Town). However, we opted not to go with a breakfast due to addition £10 per person per day which seemed excessive. Not sure whether this was the reason why but tea/coffee in the hotel was CZK50 which is approx €2 per ONE. This is the first time ever this happened to me and seem very strange for a four star hotel. Also, we had rather cold treatment from the receptionist which didn't even ask whether we had a pleasant stay, etc.
Room and bathroom was very clean and nice. Just AC system little bit too noisy. Stuff very friendly and helpfull. I forget my shoes in the hotel, but called them and when I arrived later that day to pick it up it was waiting for me. Did not have breakfast over there so can't help on this.
We were very pleased with the location, walking distant to restaurants, bars everything one needs and an amazing access to anywhere around the city few minutes from the hotel. The hotel was clean, nice design and inviting. Only black mark was the construction noise next door, but we didn't mind much as we were out all day. Going to Prague again? Yes, I would definitely go back to the Amigo City Centre.
I booked a standard room and stayed there for three nights. Clean room with everything you need on a daily basis. Everything is in walking distance. Quiet and the AC worked very well! Worth every penny you spend!
Booked a single twin room at a reasonable price. I was looking for something central close to the metro that was clean and updated. The Amigo Hotel was clean and relatively updated. I thought the higher ceilings were cool. The Wi-Fi worked well. The location does have an elevator if you have luggage with you. I was not impressed with the staff. I understand that English is not the first language for much of the staff but they were quite cold and rude. I went to the front desk to get change for the metro machines and again to let them know my opera ticket would be delivered to the hotel but they did not seem to understand or care. I did get my ticket delivered to the room which was nice! The bathroom was nice and the shower had good hot water with good pressure. The hotel is about 10 minute walk to the nearest metro. I ended up cabbing it from the airport to the hotel and it was about $20-30 (can't remember exactly). This is a good option if you want to solo travel to Prague without paying the high price of the tourist hotels.
Reception was definitely non-welcoming. Watch out for for the little packets of instant coffee and teabags in the room. They are NOT FREE and cost Euro 3 each. If they want to deter people from using might as well not leave them there. We stayed 3 nights there. On the 3rd day my room lights tripped. That was around 6pm, I was informed that everyone in housekeeping have left so no maintenance possible. They managed to switch it on for me but switch for the hairdryer has tripped. No-one bothered to come the next morning as well.
I don't usually write reviews but due to the service and experienced I received I felt it was only necessary. When we arrived at 9:30 in the morning, we was greeted by a very miserable lady who didn't really say much just for us to fill some paperwork in and told us the room wasn't going to be ready by 12. After 5-6 hours of starting our touring around the beautiful city we decided to go back to which we was greeted by a man who on reception who was very rude and unhelpful. Such poor service. The rooms were nice and did the purpose of just sleeping in and getting ready in although their was tea and coffee but was equivalent to £3 in Czech however this didn't bother me as much as the service from check in to check out they weren't helpful and quite rude. I feel like the title amigo city centre is abit ambiguous as it's really not so city centre, which is easily 35 minute walk
The hotel is nice but the service we got there was terrible. Stayed 3 nights and they wanted to charge us 20 euros more for the first night. My wife made a 52-minute phone call to Canada and they wanted to charge us for a 3hour and 10 minute call. Be careful with these guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The first impression of this hotel was unfortunately not very good. We entered the reception area and instead of welcoming us, the receptionist just looked at us not very motivated to check us in. We had to fill out a form (which maybe took about 2 minutes) and then we were left standing there for a long time, because apparently other people were more important. We didn't have breakfast there, because we thought that 12€ is quite overpriced. The rest of the stay was okay, however, if you're a light sleeper, you should be aware that police cars and ambulances are driving through the street frequently (with siren on). The location is quite good (except for all the noise due to the big street), public transport, restaurants and supermarkets are nearby.
