I don't usually write reviews but due to the service and experienced I received I felt it was only necessary. When we arrived at 9:30 in the morning, we was greeted by a very miserable lady who didn't really say much just for us to fill some paperwork in and told us the room wasn't going to be ready by 12. After 5-6 hours of starting our touring around the beautiful city we decided to go back to which we was greeted by a man who on reception who was very rude and unhelpful. Such poor service. The rooms were nice and did the purpose of just sleeping in and getting ready in although their was tea and coffee but was equivalent to £3 in Czech however this didn't bother me as much as the service from check in to check out they weren't helpful and quite rude. I feel like the title amigo city centre is abit ambiguous as it's really not so city centre, which is easily 35 minute walk
The hotel is nice but the service we got there was terrible. Stayed 3 nights and they wanted to charge us 20 euros more for the first night. My wife made a 52-minute phone call to Canada and they wanted to charge us for a 3hour and 10 minute call. Be careful with these guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The first impression of this hotel was unfortunately not very good. We entered the reception area and instead of welcoming us, the receptionist just looked at us not very motivated to check us in. We had to fill out a form (which maybe took about 2 minutes) and then we were left standing there for a long time, because apparently other people were more important. We didn't have breakfast there, because we thought that 12€ is quite overpriced. The rest of the stay was okay, however, if you're a light sleeper, you should be aware that police cars and ambulances are driving through the street frequently (with siren on). The location is quite good (except for all the noise due to the big street), public transport, restaurants and supermarkets are nearby.
Amigo City hotel attracts with its architecture and interior typical for Prague. A really pleasant atmosphere, garnished with light wooden interior view and smell of rich, healthy tasty breakfast. Polite staff, clean and convenient room, though not very spacious. Pleasant garden place for a coffee, beer and cigarette brakes.
The hotel is close to the tourist areas about 10 mins walk from topend of Wencelas Sq or 20-25 minutes from Charles Bridge. Tram stop is 5 minutes away. This suited us well. It is a high quality B&B with a pleasant restaurant and well presented reception plus smallish waiting room. The bedroom was of good size and well equipped, the bathroom very clean and modern. Broadband worked fine although maybe not at very top superfast speed. One very minor niggle, there was external nightclub style music in the early evening with base beats penetrating the windows from a neighbouring property although my wife didn't think it loud it disturbed my book reading. It ended around 9PM. The room rate doesn't include in room teas and coffee, we brought our own herbal tea bags out of choice.
Spent one night with my family on the way back from Berlin, and I got great room, parking, breakfast and baby crib for 100€. Personnel loud and clear in communication. It's well located hotel, easy to find, 20 min walk from Prague 1. You gotta stay 5 days in order to explore the Prague, thus we come back ASAP.
Booked this hotel due to the great price £200 for two of us for 4 nights. First the downsides: 1.Its a good 20 minute brisk walk from the old town. 2. For some peculiar reason, although tea and coffee making facilities are provided, you have to pay for it, around £1.50 a cup.3. No active bar area.4. Right next to a major four lane trunk road through the city.5. Bit old fashioned in its decor. 6. Room 1 had a slightly smelly bathroom. 7. Breakfast at the hotel is €12 per head.Sounds rubbish right? But now the balance. If you are on a city visit, you only sleep there? Right? The hotel has good double glazing. The hotel has a great choice of restaurants and bars within walking distance. It is 5 minutes from the IP PAVLOVA station on the metro red (C) line and tickets for a 3 day pass are about £10, covering metro, buses and trams, and you can quickly find your way around. You don't have to worry about crowds of tourists getting in your way or booking up the restaurants, so you can have your pick, plus the pricing is more reasonable. The bed is very comfortable, although you may wish to ask for a second pillow as they are very flat.Rooms are adequate, nothing more, nothing less. The room had a mini bar contained in a fridge, so my tip? Buy or bring your own, coffee, tea and bottled water so you don't get caught on the extras. Finally, fresh milk is difficult to come by, even in the local mini mart, so make sure you know how to ask for it in CZECH!! Overall, it's cheap relatively comfortable, but understand what you are buying here. It is very much standard but clean fare. I WOULD stay here again.
Amigo City Centre Hotel is a great place... The Room is clean, confortable and we were close to the center of the city. We had free wifi and in the sqare we had a nice place to breakfast. In a few minutes you stay in down town.
I am shocked at previous reviews I can only think the hotel has changed staff etc ...as iam very fussy and the room is great spotless the queen size bed has crisp white bedding very comfortable, lovely drapes at the windows, the bathroom is great with plenty of soft white fluffy towels changed every day, very helpful reception in the day,and Patrick the night receptionist is great very helpful ,can't say about restaurant as have not used it ..yes must be honest I was shocked that your charged for tea bags and coffee but there is a notice stating it .we haven't used any or the mini bar.would definitely come again and recommend it to friends
Visited with friends ,very inviting reception even when arriving very late in the evening. Room of generous proportions, clean and large clean bathroom. Only drawback being expected to pay the equivalent of £1.50 to have a drink off the British style hospitality tray. Very good breakfast with hot and cold choices ,fresh fruit and cereals. Depending on speed of walking Wenceslas Square is around 25/30 mins away and the old town square another 10 or so. Excellent restaurant about 4 blocks away (Legenda) on same street.Overall a great place to stay, recommended
