Novotel Poznan Malta

This is an unspectacular hotel in an older building. There is public transportation available but if you stay at this hotel, you should have your own car. Service is very friendly and efficient. Rooms are practical, nothing particularly nice. However, the structure of the hotel is outdated and not sound proofed. Rooms can get very noisy. Breakfast buffet is ok but at 15 euros overpriced. Overall it is OK to stay over for a short business trip but that’s about it.

This hotel didn't warrant the room rate they charged! The rooms do not have air conditioning and you have to rely on a pedestal fan on hot nights. The window didn't open much so the room was stuffy. There were a few other problems but we would not recommend this hotel.

Good location at Malta, reasonable breakfast, average room quality, no aircondition and poor ventilation. Good service at Reception large parking , nice pool, close to city center, surrounded by park.

We have stayed here several times, and it gets better. The top floor rooms have been renovated, and have air con. Staff are very helpful, and the restaurant is extremely good value. I see someone commented not he towels - yes, they are thin - but in the warmer weather, a thinner towel dries better - so I dont see that as an issue. This hotel is all round good value for money.

The hotel is located in the Malta recreational area in the eastern part of Poznan, close to the Malta lake and directly by the thermal baths of Poznan (Termy Poznań). Driving there is easy from most directions, as it lies close to one of the internal ringroads of the city; there are also 2 tramlines serving the area and, at summer weekends, a narrow-gauge park railway named "Maltanka" - a great ride especially for children :) The exterior of the hotel looks somewhat worn but don't be fooled - inside You will find a modern, well-upkept Novotel hotel. The hotel is equipped with elevator, restaurant and a spacious lobby; we didn't use the outside pool nor don't know if there are other recreational areas there - still, they would be redundant anyway, as Termy Malta are a 5 minute walk from the hotel - AND the hotel has discount vouchers for them! The rooms are quite spacious, equipped with TV, coffee set, minibar and a workplace. The toilet is separated from the bath which is also a plus. The restaurant is moderately expensive although the food is tasty so maybe it's worth the price in fact. We can't say anything about breakfast though as we have not used it - it was not in our packet. All in all this is avery nice hotel and we recommend it for anyone who doesn't need a hotel in the very centre of the city.

I stayed here for the first time in Poznan and definitely fir the kast time. In Novotel hotels towels should more better without any jaggedness and not so old. Smell in the room also wasn't nice. Good think was breakfast. There are better place to stay in Poznan.

Good thing first: If you arrive in Poznan in an EV, this it the place to stay. they have a 16A CEE socket where you can recharge your car. You only pay for the parking (15 PLN/day) Our room was nice and clean, but lacked a pair of armchairs. The breakfast buffet was OK. Some areas has room for improvement: The chef should consult a cookbook for the term "Rare" and compare it to "Bleu" - they are not the same. And it seemed that it was our fault the the steaks were not cooked to specifications (Ever seen Faulty Towers). Would I stay here again? As long as there are no other EV charge stations in Poznan, Yes Would I eat in their restaurant again? Highly unlikely.

The hotel is set in the Malta Park, has it's own outside pool so in summer it's the best place to hang out after visiting the Old Town. Room was big enough, restaurant has a nice terrace overlooking the garden and the pool.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Welcoming reception. I found the smell of the old carpet omnipresent, and disturbing. Room was OK, a bit old. Breakfast was OK. I guess all in all what you get is what you pay for, good as business hotel.

Poznan is quite the happening city these days and it seems hard to get a room, especially when you company travel agent is only prepared to book chain hotels. So this was the only chain hotel with availability 3 weeks out. Unfortunately, the hotel rooms explain the availability. They are very noisy (from neighbors and from the corridor), very hot (due to lack of air conditioning), very old and of very dubious quality. The only redeeming feature of the hotel (and why I gave it 2 stars, not 1) is that the food in the restaurant is unexpectedly good - even simple food like the club sandwich was excellent! So to the hotel management - keep the staff and definitely the chef, but please embark on a major room upgrade and make sound insulation a priority! There is no excuse for poor room quality at your price points and the Novotel brand is tainted as a result. Meanwhile, I will get a restless night, while I look for another hotel for tomorrow.
