Fire extinguishers outdated by 1.5 yrs. Filthy blinds. Coffee maker did not work. No proper dishes. No iron. When provided it was disgusting with crusted surface and $2.00 sticker on it from 2nd hand store. Ground littered with cigarette butts outside door.

This is a lovely family owned and run business. Our room and the facilities were clean and comfortable. We liked the extra sink in our room. The bed was comfortable. The windows kept out most of the road noise and we enjoyed our stay. We were there for one night. Recommended.

Nice little hotel. No issues with the room itself or the staff. But the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything that goes on in the adjoining rooms. You may get lucky but we didn't. Not their fault, it appears to be an older property, but you should know about it.

The staff were friendly. I was able to check in early. The bed was comfortable. Location easily accessible. However the room is definitely in need of repair and uogrades. The fridge is appalling. Good thing the rate low.

We booked a quick one night stay as we were in transition. We didn't expect much and we go what we expected. The motel is really dated though the bathroom was nicely updated. Our sheets had stains on them and our next door neighbours requested new sheets for the same reason. All in all, it is OK for a quick overnight, but I wouldn't be inclined to book more than that.

Clean room and renovated bathroom with excellent shower water pressure. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Really appreciated opportunity to do laundry. Hotel is across the street from Townsite market (excellent bakery), movie theatre and great Royal Zayka restaurant.

Our room door was left open when we checked in. The front desk lady was not presentable at all. Her living area was the office behing the counter and made the foyer smell like food and not in a good way. Her t.v was so loud she couldn't here the service phone. I tried three times to request an iron. Rooms that weren't being used were still dirty with garbage and beds unmade. The only reason we knew was because the curtains were left open for everyone to see. The stairs were scary to use, it felt like they were going to collapse at any moment. My family and I couldn't handle it anymore so I checked out a day early, booked at another hotel and took the loss of not getting a return.

At check in there was no staff present even after many phone calls. It took 15 minutes to find someone to get a key. I went back to the office to ask for an extra pillow immediately and the person disappeared and couldn’t be found. There were 2 other patrons needing assistance and nobody working the desk.

I was so happy to arrive early on a Harbour Air flight and find my room ready. The Island View Lodge is a short walk from the Powell Lake float plane terminal. This a terrific place to stay in the historic Powell River townsite…. Big thanks to the friendly and very helpful staff!

There were dirty shorts inside the TV cabinet, dirty socks under the bed and washroom sink, garbage under the washroom sink, left over food in the microwave. Floors were dirty. Requested to please clean up the room, but upon return hours later it was in the same condition. Will not stay there again.

Enjoyable stay, we would come back again.

Check in was good. Room was clean. Naina at the reception was very helpful. She came to our room right away to show us how to turn the volume on the TV up or down. We had other questions too and she was always available to answer them. We really liked the location of the hotel in the old part of town. But we needed our car to get to the area where all the action is with restaurants and shops.

The front desk staff is also tasked with cleaning rooms so it took a while to find someone to check us in. The first room we were put in was not labeled properly (210), we found a door with only a #1 on it and had to find housekeeping to confirm it was right. The room smelled stale and the bathroom smelled of urine. It was dark and had dents in the walls. The tiny ac barely worked and the tv wouldn’t work either. Had to wait again at front desk and search for staff to get a power bar plug in for tv. Staff was understanding about our unhappiness with the room and offered a different room. The other room was much brighter and cleaner but we were super disappointed with the condition of the linens and towels. While it was obvious they were washed many had stains, to the point that the white towels looked yellow and worn. It’s a cheap fix to provide a clean and healthy experience for guests. The shower curtain was also stained with moldy ring around it. The grounds of the hotel are nothing like pictured in advertisements. The seating area was dirty and littered with bits of garbage. There were also garage bags piled up in the lobby because staff was trying to do two jobs of cleaning and front desk. She was kind and helpful so not reflective of her service but the owners should fix these things if they don’t want to become a 1 star motel as this was a 1 star experience.
