We really enjoyed our stay- the property, the hotel and gardens, are beautiful. The food at the restaurant was delicious. The spa pool, sauna, and treatments were delightful. The thermal pools were relaxing. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Beautiful grounds and thermal pools are great for relaxing. Hotel guests get to use them 24/7. The indoor pool with sauna and steam is also very nice. The entire staff are friendly, professional and very helpful. My wife and I spent 4 nights of our honeymoon here and loved it. Rooms are clean and bed very comfortable.
Unique property next to the gardens with the free access to them. My only complain is the beds and pillows. Beds are tiny and the pillows are terrible (lumpy and hard). For the quality of the hotel they can invest in the larger beds and better pillows. If you are large and I am not talking heavy ask for separate beds if you are traveling with the partner.
I loved the after hour access to the mineral bath. Loved the botanical gardens. I wish they would have told us at checkin that if we wanted to have the Poruguese Stee we had to order 24 hours in advance.

This hotel was a highlight of our trip. We spent 3 nights there and really enjoyed it. The service from the staff was excellent (not my experience in Ponta Delgado) and the room was really spacious with a great balcony. The best part of the hotel was strolling around the extensive gardens and enjoying 24 hour access to the thermal baths. We had so much fun admiring the gardens in our robes and taking a dip in the hot baths early in the morning and late at night. Restaurant was lovely for dinner too and there is a nice indoor pool area with a gym and sauna and the bar has a piano player some nights. The hotel takes you back in time to a fantastic 1930s style travel experience. I thought about saving a bit and staying at a new hotel nearby and am so glad that I didn't. This is a fantastic and relaxing hotel with helpful staff and great amenities.
My husband and I stayed at Terra Nostra on our honeymoon. We arrived in the evening and were greeted with friendly staff who checked us in, sent us to our room, and delivered champagne within 15 minutes. We had barely just changed into our robes to visit the natural hot springs when it arrived. We walked from the hotel to the garden entrance and into the hot springs, steam rose from below as light mist fell from above. It was pure magic. The hot springs were soothing for our travel weary bodies and the depth of the pool was perfect for walking around. It was dark, the water was black, it was a real life black and white movie. I highly recommend seeing the hot springs like this at first because in the day, the yellow sulfur color is not nearly as romantic. However the warmth of the pool, the staff, the delicious drinks at the bar, and the ability to roam the garden 24/7 made for a magical experience the entire time.
