Stayed here as part of a tour group. The rooms were clean, the Wi-Fi was very good, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The food wasn't brilliant, but that was probably because we were part of a tour group so we got what we were given rather than choosing from a menu. The area is not great, but it's within easy walking distance of the main Santa Catarina street, and the historic city centre, which are all lovely.

We booked the hotel through my Melia rewards points for a 5 day break. Check in time limit is 18.00 so if you're ariving later you have to secure the room against a card even though the reception is 24 hours. The room was clean and tidy with a stocked minibar, although the safe is at an additional cost. Breakfast was okay, mainly continental with some bacon, susage and scrambled eggs. The property is located some distance from the river and the Ribira areas, however it's all downhill on the way there (but a bit of a slog to get back) however a taxi from town back was only 6 euro. There isn't much around the hotel in the way of bars and restaurants, but the little cafe come bar just to the left does good fresh food and serves drinks at a very reasonable prices if you get fed up with the walk into town.

Small business hotel in the city center. Walking distance to historic center, metro, and other public transportation. Conference and business facilities, rooms with balcony and very friendly staff. Overall Great 3 stars hotel.

We chose this hotel, my wife, son and I, for is value and location and we aren´t sorry. The staff was very nice. The room wasn´t big, mid size, but very well for a week end break to visit the city of Porto. In terms of cleanliness everything was OK. The bed was very confortable and we sleep very well. Down point: the view, you don´t have a view...

The staff is very friendly and helpful, the room was perfectly cleaned, breakfast was simple but everything was tasty (especially pastries) and there is a large choice. The locations is also good (15-20 min from the main attractions). We highly recommend this hotel!

I've stayed at Tryp Porto for one night and I like it. The location is not the best, because it's a little far from the center but the way shows you different Porto. The room I've stayed was the biggest room I've ever seen. Everything worked perfectly and the bed was very confortable. Concerning the breakfast, I think it's very basic. But enough for the first meal. The staff is nice and friendly. Definitely I'd recommend it.

I chose this hotel not on the base of reviews on Tripadviser but because of the price and a little on the bluff. The hotel staff is very friendly. Despite the fact that I came to the hotel at 10 AM, I was immediately given a room. Traveling with infant I was extra pleased by this gesture. The location is good, but there is not much restaurants or bars neerby. There is one local restaurant 20 m from hotel, which I highly recomend.

Very nice hotel, location close to the city center but not restaurants or pub nearby. It is a perfect location for a football match because in 20mins by foot you can be at the stadium dragao. Nice atmosphere as well in the hotel

Stayed at the hotel as part of a group visiting Porto and Duoro. Total chaos when checking in, nothing was prepared. When we finally got the keys, the room was ok. Nothing to complain about, nothing to remember. It was a small lounge/bar area where it also was a television. Even if some of my friends were there alone watching a football match, they were hushed when clapping ofr a goal. So quite a practical hotel, not too far from the centre, but not as close as the name suggests. The employees probably think that paying guests is a hassle. Breakfast was ok.

The best thing about hotel was the location, close enough to Douro river to walk throw streets to the river and bridges. Rooms are clean and cover all basic needs, breakfast sufficent, wifi available. There is not much to see around hotel, but everything is reachable by foot.
