This is a small modern 9 storey hotel in a very good location for exploring Porto. Only 50m from Trindade Metro station with direct link to airport (5 euro 40mins) and 15minute walk to city centre, 20 minutes walk to river Douro. Bedrooms reasonable size and practical although the bed was too firm for me and the bathroom lacked a supply of kleenex tissues, odd for 4 star. Hotel has a small bar and offers a good buffet breakfast . Some reasonable eateries close by Would probably use again just for location in this busy city
the hotel is cozy and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast is good.the hotel is quiet, facing the metro station or you can walk for 5 to 10 minutes max and you arrive to the downtown. thank you so much for the help and all the good advices that you gave us for choosing all the delicious restaurants.
Hotel was great and near the train station Trindade, a straight journey from the airport A 10 minute walk into the river but good location for the shopping area Staff were helpful and breakfast very good
A lovely clean modern hotel about 10 mins walk from Main square. Rooms were spotless,a/c quiet, yes pillows were hard but softer ones were in the wardrobe if you needed one. The breakfasts were delicious with lots of fresh fruit, gorgeous Portuguese custard tarts, cooked breakfast, and the usual continental fare. A nice touch was a voucher for a free glass of port in the bar served by a very nice and helpful waiter. We used the hop on hop off bus of which there were three different companies - Red,yellow and blue buses. We used the Red bus which cost 15 euros for one day or only 17 euros for two. We got dropped off at the coast and walked along the promenade to the next stop - about a mile then got back on the bus and got dropped off near the river where there are lots of bars and restaurants and entertainers. Across the bridge is the Port district which was interesting. The icing on the cake was that the modern metro is straight across the road from the hotel where we purchased tickets to the Airport from again very helpful staff. The journey took 36 mins and dropped us right inside the airport for the princely sum of 5 euros for two of us.The airport puts our UK ones to shame !! Would I go to Porto again - yes - and would I stay at this Hotel - yes definitely !!
The hotel was clean and modern. The room was good but was lacking draws to put clothes in. The roof Terrance bar was closed for refurbishment. Also although the website says that they have a restaurant, only pizzas and snacks are available in the bar which I thought was bad for a four star hotel. The breakfast was good although I wouldn't pay 25 euros for it each. Also the room rate was 250 euros but we only paid £340 for three nights including breakfast which I thought was good. The metro station is just across the street and all six metro line go though it so you can get anywhere in Porto which was good. Also you can get a 72 hrs travel card for the metro for 15 euros.
We stayed there on 2 separate nights due to a river cruise. The good points were : clean and spacious bedrooms facing the back of the building. Very quiet. The breakfasts on both occasions were excellent. I loved the freshly squeezed juice. Proximity to the town centre also a good point. However bad points were: surly and very unfriendly staff. Previously noted in review last April by others. We found this most surprising given the general friendliest in Porto. Totally rigid about bar opening times. Pillows and bed were rock hard hence disturbed sleep.
My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at the Hotel Porto Trindade. The room was spacious, modern and clean. We had a quiet room allowing us to sleep soundly. The shower was a little problematic but still had very good pressure. While the breakfast had a number of food options, I didn't find them it too appealing. The coffee needs improvement. Overall I would recommend the hotel, location was perfect. Close to all attractions. The staff was very helpful.
The hotel across the road from Trindade metro station - this is on the direct from the airport and also on the lines for the sight seeing you will want to do in Porto. Our room was at the back of the hotel and was vey quiet. We did not hear traffic or other guests. The welcome glasses of port were a nice touch. The desk staff were very helpful and booked local restaurants for us. The room was clean and had everything you could want, but the pillows and beds were a little too firm for us. The breakfast was excellent - lots of choice and regularly replenished.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel staff was friendly. We each got a free glass of Port with the stay. The room was comfortable and nicely designed. I liked that there were lots of dim lights, so you could control how bright the room was. The bed was a bit hard for my taste, but my husband liked it. The shower had pretty low water pressure, but they provided hand soap, which hotels rarely do. The room had a hot water kettle and instant coffee and tea were provided. Bottled water was also provided in the room, and they had a mini fridge as well. Breakfast was included and was nice but not great. Fresh fruit, pastries, hard boiled eggs, pastel de nata (room temperature). They also had hot scrambled eggs, beans, and tomatoes with cheese, it none of these looked very appealing. This was the one hotel of 5 we stayed in this trip that had brewed coffee, which was a nice change of pace after drinking espresso everywhere else. The Trinidade metro station is just across the street and you can go from there to the airport and some of the main downtown areas. Porto is beautiful to just walk around and explore, and is very safe.
Absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel at all. From the initial offering of a free glass of Port in the hotel bar, to the sharp, clean, modernist rooms, to the voluminous and wonderful breakfast buffet down in the basement, it could not have been a better value for the money. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well. At one point I thought it was odd that the elevator was so small, but then I found out that was the case *everywhere* along the Camino. Plus, you get used to it. I would recommend it to anyone spending a few days in Porto.
