We were booked on the first floor, into a very dark room with the smell of sewer gas in the bathroom. When the front desk was informed, the result to remedy the odor was to open the bedroom window. After informing them it was not a cure, we were transferred to another room - it had a bed and a wooden chair. The breakfast is only cold food. We were charged a daily fee to use the room safe! The professional photos of this hotel must be from one select room on the top floor - ours looked more like a reform school.

They try to cover the mold with horrible air freshener. We got headaches from that! Our room wasn't even close to what the pictures look like. It is the worst Hotel I have ever stayed, especially for the value. Do yourself a favor and don't book it.

The person who is supposed to be a receptionist here, Claudia, made me really wonder how the hell did she end up on that position. She has it all - for a job at a prison. She did not greet me at all when I entered the hotel for the first time - when she finally noticed me, she kept on looking at her screen, she asked for my ID after being said "Good afternoon", with a voice so arrogant that I thought that she was actually joking. Claudia was then unable to activate the key card for my room. When I came back to the reception after I couldn't enter the room for the first time, she gave me the look as if I were an idiot. Then she reactivated the thing and sent an intern with me - who was obviously supposed to show me how the card works. When we both couldn't open the door and came down again, she gave me a new card, which "works". It didn't. I came down again, for the third time. It took her 20 more minutes to figure out what was happening. I didn't expect an apology from a person who didn't even say "Hello" when she saw me for the first time, and I didn't get one. The card incidet is actually irrelevant in this review... the outrageous behavior of Claudia made me write it. Another small point: there in an intercourse happening in the room next to mine as I speak. It is like if they were in my bed and they are not even loud.

We reserved this hotel going to the NOS Primavera Sound festival 2016 and it was perfect for us. OK room, nice bathroom, free breakfast (not too exciting!), close to Metro and city center. All in all when it comes to value for money we had a good at Hotel Malaposta. See you next year.

Stained bed sheets, toilet seat about to fall apart, shabby furniture, mould smelling room this is what you should be expecting should you receive a non renovated room! Almost forgot.. The lift is probably from the 50s! Genuinely ruined my holiday. Wouldn't recommend and would never book again.

We had made reservation via internet. When I entered the room I felt a strong smell of humidity. Because I am allergic I was affected by that immediately. Also the blanket was dirty, it looked like oil stain. You should look for the electric outlet much to find it!! I am sure that I will not stay here once more.

Nice hotel , clean , amazing 5 stars desktop service , the receprionists they were amazing , good breakfast , clean everyday , few minutes to the center , calm , quit ! Very prompt service , very good english of the personel , maps , explanations , well done guys !

The room was not dirty, but the interior feels aged. There was only 1 free electrical outlet close to the entrance, but none close to the bed or the desk. The room had a moldy smell and the windows where wet on the inside in the morning. The shower was not dirty, but some repairs are needed in the bathroom. Also having a safe in the room and asking for 2€ and a deposit (which I didn't rent in the end) is kind of a rip-off. At the breakfast almost everything was sweet (sweet cakes, sweet pudding, sweet croissant-like things, sweet juice), but no eggs or savory spread. And just filter coffee.

Very convenient located , central , minutes drive from the train station , close to the Hospital , many pubs , many students around , fast foods. Decent price , simple breakfast , simple room format and relatively clean , reasonable price . Fin walls i had to " enjoy" a Portuguese romantic fight and short make-up ((:

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in Porto and it was a great choice as for location and price. The hotel is a 3 star, in the old town area, so you have basically everything close, for those who would enjoy nightlife, the area is perfect for it. Very satisfied about this hotel, however the laundry services are way too high ( 2 euros per pair of socks). Breakfast great, typical Portuguese dishes ( try the rice pudding is delicious). Would recommend this hotel to others.
