Hotel Estoril Porto

Slightly tricky with the parking option, being a few hundred metres away, and we were very pleased to leave our car untouched throughout our 3 day stay. The hotel is right in the middle of a busy, pedestrianised and interesting area, perfect for walking to all Porto's delights. Welcome was friendly and wonderfully multilingual. We were on the top floor and the room was quite small, clean and adequate. The ensuite was a bit too intimate for comfort and I had to tinker with the shower head to keep it from dropping off, but the TV and internet were good. It's quite a quirky and charming building, with the outside back area accessible for guests, as was a communal seating area. The friendliness of the place made it very easy for popping in and out through the day. Breakfast was pretty basic; rolls, prepacked croissants, coffee and some fruit, but the seating was relaxed and easy to talk with other guests. So, in spite of a couple of negatives, we really enjoyed our stay and are happy to recommend the hotel if you want something in a great location, friendly staff, and are not too picky about minor details.

This is old hotel on a great location in the city center. Everything is on a walking distance; all the attractions, nice restaurants, cafeterias... Aside of room being small, bathroom even smaller, there were no windows, only one on the ceiling which woke us up in the crack of dawn. But it was clean. Breakfast was not included in our price, as it was raining outside we decided to stay for breakfast in the hotel. For almost 5 EUR there was very poor selection! Only cornflakes, cheese and ham, bread, coffee and juice, very, very poor.

It is located near Clerigos and so it is possible to visit the old town of Oport by walking. But this is just the only positive point that I have for this "hotel". First, this is not a Hotel but a pension. People are very rude. I reserve it with a Odisseia Voucher and the receptionist said that it is necessary to print it and deliver it at the moment of check in. I question if it's possible to send by email (I always send by email to all hotel that I reserve with a voucher) and the person said no. Of course I had no place to print and so, and after much insistence, he let me deliver by email. To expensive for what it offers

A great and cozy hotel right in the city center with in walking distance to most of the attractions. Friendly staff and very clean facility. I would say the only down side is that there is no elevator with three floors.

Excellent location, friendly reception. Accomodation as expected. Great for exploring the city. Everything is within reach. Great service to price ratio. There is a bit of a language barrier because the people at the desk spoke very little English.

This hotel is a little gem. Sitting above the old historical centre of Porto it's a fifteen minute walk down to the river but be warned - a steep walk back up! Most sites of historical interest are within walking distance but I'd advise a map - available from hotel reception, it comes with loads of help and advice from the wonderful receptionist. Our double hotel room was indeed compact and bijou and the shower / toilet cubicle was a tight squeeze but as we were out all and every day of our week's stay it didn't bother us as we only used the room to sleep in. Although classed as a one star, we had a change of towels daily and housekeeping cleaned the room and made the bed daily. Breakfast was a continental buffet (no hot food) but unlimited in quantity so suited us as we're not "full English" people. For the price, it is excellent value. If we'd wanted large rooms with hot buffet we would have paid three / four star prices and gone elsewhere. The breakfast room is small but if full, you can take your breakfast out on the patio overlooking the lovely garden. The poor receptionist seems to do everything in the morning including breakfast so be patient if things need topping up. We had a lovely stay.

Very good location, only 7 min walking from tram stops near the university building. Nice garden with orange trees and 5 cats. If there happens to be sunny day, you can relax and use beds to take sun. Really liked communication and solving booking issues before arrival. Small bathroom, for taller people using toilet can be a bit uncomfortable. Inadequate breakfast. Beacause of the location it was a bit noisy.

Was pleasantly surprised room was bigger than I thought it would be. Is on pedestrian only street and walking distance to river and cruise boats. Young lady at reception spoke excellent English with American accent(she told me she learned from watching television and movies). Very good rates and excellent value for money.

not too much to say about this hotel yes very clean room very small and cramped shower poor also did not stay up no lift which is not good when you are 3 floors up and there are a lot of stairs not good late at night after a big dinner and a few glasses of port really good location close to everything on a pedestrian road

the location was quiet good and safe.very near to historical places. reception was helpful and friendly but a little weak in speaking English our room was nice and really clean. the best thing about the hotel was the location and what i liked least was room view.
