I so wish I had more than one night. The staff (2eonderful ladies) at the front desk were amazing. They have a local cab driver who is remarkable. Wonderful breakfast, beautiful grounds and I easily would have paid double for my incredible suite. Need to treat and pamper yourself ??? This is the place !!!!

This was a very charming property. I would definitely stay there again. It is conveniently located in the middle of northern Portugal with easy access to Porto, Braga, and Guimaraes. The staff was great, especially Ana in the dining room.

This property is amazing! It reminds me of something out of a fairy tale. Our room was unique and beautifully decorated. The staff was exceptional. She told us about the history of the property, showed us to our room and made our dinner reservations at a wonderful local restaurant. And then there was breakfast, which was just fabulous. If you are in this area, don't miss the opportunity to stay here and experience this fabulous property.

We very much enjoyed our one night stay. Clean bedroom and bath. The building is of historic design. The exterior and interior walls are of large granite blocks. The hotel is located in the country site, it is quiet and has a very helpful and accommodating staff. We would like to go back for a longer stay.

A Real Gem

This hotel was a true gem. Our room was lovely. The staff was great. and the breakfast was outstanding. Everyone was cheerful and helpful. The only negative was the bathroom door should have opened out into the room because there was plenty of room to do so but when you opened it into the bathroom you couldn't open it all the way. Very easy to remedy. A lovely experience we truly enjoyed.

Don't miss this place, it is fantastic.

I would recommend this Hotel to anyone, but especially for Couples. It is very romantic. The attention to detail is exceptional. The check in was easy and they speak English, Portuguese, Spanish. Claudia helped us to get settled in and helped with restaurant reservation. She was an exceptional person. Ana, had breakfast ready every morning and also was exceptional. She bend over backwards and made us Cappuccinos and provided us with a list of places to visit, and she was spot on. Every detail from their crest on napkins to the sheets was beautifully done. Even Families would love this place. They had two playgrounds for younger children. The property is huge and is adjacent to a Golfcourse, although not open, but you can walk the grounds and check it out. They are able to handle Company conference, large weddings or other gatherings. They treates us like VIPs, and I can guarantee that they do so for any guests. The surroundings are also wonderful, it used to be a monastery. Without Hotels.com we woupd have missed this place, and that would have been a real pitty. There are wonderful restaurants and many things to do. I would go back at any time! We loved it!

A castle stay, a beautiful fairy tale like hotel

A gem!

This hotel is a great find and somewhat unique. It is “off the beaten path” and is outstanding. One cannot find a place like this in the US for even three times what we paid, if it were even available.
