The breakfast was amazing. And the rooms were big and comfortable. We had a big, sheltered balcony on our room. Perfect for a glass of wine before going out. Parking was cramped though. A few nice restaurants close by. Highly recommend Casa Agricola around the corner. And Italian restaurant Al Porto. Location is not the best. It is quite a long way from center of town. 5 min walk to metro, and then you have to change metro half way to town. Metro was easy to understand and use. Took 30 min all together to get in to central Porto. So ok, but made it less convenient to go out in centrum. The area around the hotel has a few good restaurants and a food court, but is otherwise not very nice. Easy to drive there, and to the beach from there.
Very affordable, friendly staff. Clean, modern and in a great location. I travelled for business and require basic needs such as access to restaurants and WIFI. This hotel is perfect for me and incredible value. If this hotel was in London you would be paying 3 or 4 times the amount per night. I will go back there,
This hotel is very nice - it is close to a shopping centre and a food/restaurant market, which is very handy when you are visiting a new place. It is also very close to transport and the famous Casa da Musica. The bed is huge, there is a safe in the room, free internet, the sheets are crisp, the shower is very "powerful", there is a kettle and complimentary tea and coffee, the receptionists are very polite. The breakfast was good, though the hot food was hardly ever hot. But there is a big selection of food. I also used the laundry service which was very fast. One thing would stop me from going back, though: the noise. And I don't mean the outside/street noise, it's the walls that are so thin, you can hear everything - from people talking, to taking a bath/shower, coughing etc as if they were in our own room! I've never been in a hotel like this, very strange. So all in all, despite it being a good hotel, I wouldn't go back.
This hotel is located in a quiet suburb and took us 20 - 30 min walk into city centre depending where we wanted to be. All good for fitbit users! We used the metro from airport to casa da musica metro stop and used a rechargeable andante card. The hotel staff were helpful especially on reception. We used the safe deposit box as our room did not have a safe. Take a kettle if you like a brew! Air con worked a bonus! My only gripe was sometimes food was not replenished very quickly but plenty of choice and i developed a custard tart habit! There is a fabulous food court around the corner (not the one in the shopping centre) where the locals went and we spent our week working around it i can recommend the cocktail bar with cava by the glass and the gin bar with fever tree tonic. Food the pizza stand was good and the new York burgers were good! I can recommend train journey to aveiro if you like walking get off at granja station and you can then walk along a board walk along a fabulous sandy beach to Esphino and then catch the train back it is lovely walk. There are buses to the local beach reception will tell you which and we did that. A great value hotel!. A
Affordable, clean, close to the Metro system, right next to a delicious Mercado full of many yum yum options, great breakfast at the hotel = solid choice! Our visit was actually in May 2016 but TripAdvisor won't let me chose that date!
Hotel is nice generally, but not as nice as other hotels . The rooms were on the small side and the bathroom was basic and not modern. Reception is very nice and staff were super friendly . We were disappointed to see that it was far from the center of town .
Lovely big room with a really big bed. The room was absolutely spotless clean. Breakfast very good plenty of fruit and fresh juices, really lovely breads as well, buffet style so can help yourself to what ever you want.Lovely friendly staff. Not to long of a walk to the city centre from this hotel. Would stay again. Highly recommend.
We were on an extended road trip around the northern portion of Portugal. From Lisbon to Porto and around back to Lisbon. We stayed here for two nights and and were not disappointed. The hotel is well managed and the rooms are just fine. Good comfortable bed and plenty of space. Quiet and convenient for our purposes. We were tourists and spent little time in our room. Reasonably priced. If your needs match ours you may want to consider HF Tuela Porto.
Both the Hotel & Location are definitely not the most romantic of places and not at all close to the most popular tourist areas downtown such as Cais da Ribeira or the Port Wine spots however. Room spotless, Beds Great, plenty space to move around and value for money. If you enjoy walking then why pay a fortune to stay downtown? Rotunda da Boavista, the famous Casa da Musica and Mercado Bom Sucesso (taste how the local enjoy their Tapas nowadays) are right next to the Hotel. Easy walk to the local Vegan Restaurant, Sinagoga Kadooric and Palacio de Crystal/ Museu Romantico. From here I definitely suggest you walk out of the Palacio Cristal front doors (hang an immediate right) straight down to the riverside. On the way Stop for a refreshment (beautiful views) and as soon as you hit the river (turn left) and walk along rua nova de alfândega enjoying all the restaurants, museums, buildings until you reenter downtown from the west your reference point is the Igreja de São Francisco (crazy decor). From here worth walking in and out of ALL the little streets including the ones that hug the River. So all in all cool place.
Staff were very friendly, especially reception and bar staff. Bed was the biggest I've ever experienced, room was comfortable, no frills but didn't feel like we were missing anything. Breakfast was large but it got busy at times and they did run out of things very quickly that were not replaced as quickly.... Like spoons!!! Taxis were so cheap that we used those the whole trip, about €6/7 to the beach and about €6 to go right downtown. 10 min walk to the metro for a very handy and cheap airport transfer. Lovely hotel, a little pricey for what it is but no complaints.
