We've had a good three night stay at the Olala hotel. The location is great for visiting central Porto - 15 minute walk. If anything to comment on is that the noise insulation of the rooms could be better, but the area is very quiet otherwise.

We didn’t get our code until late. When we got in we couldn’t get into our room. Didn’t understand first floor is not the ground floor. The cleaning staff could not speak English but finally a staff appeared who did. Then our shower drain was not draining so we could only use it 2 or 3 minutes without a flood. We had booked the guest house in two part so the 2nd last day, we found out our door was locked and we couldn’t get back in. We would have to wait u til 3 to try and go back in. It was very unsettling wondering if we would have a nplace. The bed was comfortable and enough room.

Accommodation was clean but bathroom tired. Single beds were actually bunkbeds and not suitable for 3 older ladies travelling together. Getting into property not the easiest either, as code not sent. It had a hostel feel about it. Good position.

The beds were small and one of our friend had to sleep in very uncomfortable sofa bed. Blanket wasn't enough. Pillows were very thin. Door lock wasn't working. Avoid these studio apartment and spent few quid more for a decent hotel otherwise u will ruin your trip how we did. No thanks

This property needs some TLC and requires a hand rail for the stairs (safety). The place was not clean and we sent Olala photos of our complaints. The bathroom wall and door frame were separating from the floor. The shower door did not close properly so the water made the bath mat and floor wet. The floors were “cleaned” with a dirty floor mop which we cleaned to show the dirt to Olala. Being able to communicate via the internet only made it frustrating. Olala apologized for the issues but it is not the same as having someone to talk to. The photos shown on the website do not represent the condition of the property. I did ask the company if they inspected the property to check the upkeep and condition of the property on a timely basis but they did not answer. I think this place is overrated, posting a 2015 Hotels.com 4.8 rating in the entrance area is ingenious….. 8 years old is up to date. I think a lot can happen in 8 years. Do not rest on your laurels.

Book directly through olala. Hotels.com didn’t send me any of the necessary information for check in until 30 minutes before I was checking out. There is no reception and it is a contactless check in process, so it was lucky the cleaning staff was there to assist with check in. This is an excellent property and location at more than a fair price.

There are many comments about this place. Wish I would have read them. After a long journey there is absolutely no one there to check you in and no code to get in. Sat in the beating hot sun until the cleaners came a few hours later. The phone number is disconnected. Hotels com should NOT rent this out if there is no one to let you in and no number to call . Stay somewhere else and avoid the trouble
