AC Hotel Porto by Marriott

This is a standard AC hotel and very similar to other hotels of the chain. I picked it up just because of the price and because it its location, one station from the train station. I arrived very late and left early therefore cannot rate any other areas but my room. It was comfortable, nothing special. The bed was on a small side but comfortable. The lobby is very small and you literally bump into the front desk. The staff were good and helpful. If you want to save some euros for a decent hotel off the city centre and you don't mind to travel around, then this is a place for you. Allow 1 hour travel time to the airport in case you have an early flight!

As a Marriott property, they offered Free mini-bar to SPG members too, no free upgrade to the room though.... We were ok with our room although rooms facing the highway could be noisy. Breakfast was good with a range of varieties

Location next to the futbol stadium was only a negative on the night of the game between FC Porto and Leipzig when our tour driver felt he should drop up at a restaurant near another Metro stop rather than the hotel. Since there was a metro terminal at the stadium just five minutes from the hotel on foot, this proved not to be a problem, and we actually experienced a non-tourist restaurant that would have never been on our radar. The hotel is quiet and we never heard the noise of the stadium or the adjacent motorway from our room. Breakfast was very nice for €11pp and included three types of coffee, superb bacon, eggs, fruits, pastries, cheeses, cold cuts, cheeses, cereals and juices. Dinner in the restaurant was also very nice and the staff were quite helpful in all regards. The hotel is attached to a multilevel shopping mall which also has ten or so fast food places that offer a variety of food types, and all but KFC could understand our orders in English (sorry to say that our Spanish did not get the job done). The hotel rooms have clean engineered hardwood floors that show some signs of guest abuse, but otherwise the place is not a candidate for a redo. Nice bar and sitting areas. Excercise room and sauna also available.

This is a Marriott property living up to its usual Marriott standards, never to disappoint. Upon checking in we met Tito who was awesome! Great welcome, like we were family coming home! Since we were here during an off season, we parked on the street for free but they do have a parking garage. It is next to a huge mall and the soccer stadium. When driving to this hotel, it is a little tricky to get to from the highway. Luckily we had GPS and following the stadium signs helped. The hotel is very close to a metro stop as well. We had a wonderful, quiet room. The breakfast buffet in the morning was terrific, delicious and a nice selection. We really enjoyed staying here, comfort, location and staff. Thank you to everyone who made our stay perfect!

Nice hotel that was convenient to the motorway. The room was nice and quiet and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The price was right too. Being outside the historic district of Porto you are only about a 10 minute taxi ride away.

Stayed in the hotel 3 nghts while travelling for business. The hotel staff where helpful. I arrive at 10am, I asked at arrive if I could check in early. My room was ready by noon. The food in the bar was tasty and well priced. The breakfast spread was wide ranging, coffee was excellent.

We had booked using the scores from a website as guidance and it was a mistake. The very helpful staff helped us extrI ate ourselves from this booking - very many thanks to them for their kindness - but the location was all wrong and despite the reference to Marriott it didn't seem like one. The noisy flyover and being far from town clincher. If you want to be close to the football and/or business location, or the ring road when touring then it's perfectly fine. Rooms need a revamp and refresh. Unusual for me to be downbeat and save for the staff we would have scored less.

The hotel was Ok but We couldn't sleep all night, thanks to a weird noise coming from the roof. even though i called the reception and they said that it was fixed but 30 minutes later it came back. the breakfast was ok not that rich. Overall it was good for one night.

We were in Porto a couple of extra days after hopping off the Camino due to extremely hot weather and decided to use our Marriott points at the AC Porto. It is quite away from the main city but very easily accessible using the metro which is one block away. Upon arrival, we were granted an upgrade and were placed in room 1101, a junior suite. It was FANTASTIC! The property is well maintained, clean and modern. The room itself was better then being at home. Large living and sleeping quarters with a sliding door that separates them and free mini bar were great. The hotel restaurant served the best Bolognese according to my husband, who is somewhat a Bolognese aficionado. We had breakfast there one morning at an extra 11 euro per person. Good enough assortment of a typical european breakfast. Even though situated next to the highway, we heard no noise. The hotel is around the corner from the Porto Dragons stadium, supermercado and great mall with a food court.

My husbands family is from Burgães which is about 40 minutes from Porto. On our last visit we spent a few nights here so we could visit the city without having to commute back and forth. As Marriot Rewards member I was upgraded to a deluxe room which was fantastic! The hotel is near the football stadium and mall and is easily accessed by the modern metro line. I love Porto, and will be staying here again this August. Can't wait to return!!
