AC Hotel Porto by Marriott

Decent hotel, decent sized rooms. Metro station isn't too far away. Food and drink are a little pricey for Porto but there are a huge range of options in the shopping centre right behind that stays open late. Staff very helpful with the few requests I made. Make sure your Marriott number is on the booking to get the wifi for free!

2 nights in Porto and this hotel was good value, free parking and excellent breakfast. Reception staff are smooth and helpful in multiple languages which is a real benefit when visiting this country. On the outskirts of town by the impressive dragon stadium its a fair walk to the metro but don't mess about heap taxis and even cheaper under means you are I. The centre in 10 minutes. We are back on Saturday and hope they have a tray of bars on their impressive breakfast.

Our stay in this hotel would not have been such a pleasure if not for the helpfulness and warmth of the staffs working here especially Marco and Carlos ! They really went out of their way to assist us in every aspects of our travel and stay in the beautiful city of porto !

As Marriott rewards we were excited to use our Marriott points in Porto. While this hotel is not in town, it is next to a metro stop. We found however that for four of us a taxi was very affordable - about 8 euros one way. We splurged one day on the hotel buffet breakfast 11 euro) and it was well worth it. Big spread of delicious food. Mall next door contains a lovely large grocery store which let us stock up on waters and snacks. That being said, while hotel is quite nice, it isn't in the heart of town. Perfect location however for anyone attending soccer match!

Stayed one night for business. The only thing I should comment is the short assortment for breakfast... used to big buffets maybe this is not the one I have found in other hotels of the same chain... Excellent service, great rooms and a close to the airport with good connection to downtown.

This is a nice looking hotel. Check-in was smoith though not anything memorable. The property is supposed to be non smoking but I could smell smoke here and there through the night. I did not bring it up to the staff because really there isn't much they could do. The layout of the room was odd. It's s long room with the desk in the middle and the tv is at the far end. Bathroom was nice with a great selection of toiletries. The hotel is not near the tourist attractions and you'll need to take a taxi.

I had this trip sorted on Booking.com until I discovered from another review (thanks chaps !) that I could get a better deal by joining the Marriott Rewards Scheme and also get free wifi and breakfast thrown in (if using Visa to pay). Although not in the most salubrious district it is practically next door to The Estadio Do Dragao , which proved invaluable travelling with a young child. The city is a quick 15 minute Metro trip away ( tip - get a 24hr ticket -great value) as is the Airport (25 mins). There is shopping centre and a huge Continente Supermarket next door - so stocking upon the usual minibar staples was easy. The hotel itself is geared toward business and coach group travel but we found the staff were helpful and kind. The room itself could have done with a refurb but was clean and practical and at around 60 euros a night for B&B I can't complain !! Breakfast is excellent . The quality of the pastries and breads is awesome , the cheeses and meats on offer are great but the cooked goods ( Scrambled eggs and bacon ) were a bit tired.. Room service is particularly good - Bacalau dishes were a delightful modern take on the traditional - also served with good grace and a smile. I look forward to my next stay - my son is practically sobbing about checking out !

The AC Hotel at Estadio Drago Porto is modern, well designed and everything runs efficiently. It is 5 mins walk from the metro and right beside a high class shopping mall , which has a food court and cinemas . There is a supermarket in the basement of the shopping centre. Breakfast included fresh fruit , cereals and hot breakfast option and a range of pastries including the famous Pastel de Nata. Our room on 9th floor had great views over the town . Everything was scrupulously clean and well maintained. Our bathroom was always well stocked with fluffy white towels and a great power shower. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. We had a really great stay . Thank you.

Excellent hotel. Comfortable, modern and clean. Good breakfast, pleasant staff. Walking distance from the metro to the city center. Easily accessible by car from the airport. The road seems to be new so our GPS did not know it but the hotel is quite visible.

Average and not befitting a Marriott brand. Staff were brilliant, however. Stayed December for Porto v Leicester City Champions League game. Only stay if you are visiting the football stadium. There also appeared to be a lot of businessmen staying. Positives: Quick and helpful check in, allowing choice of room. Excellent staff, particularly in the bar/restaurant. Happy, caring people, great service. Great bar, bar food and restaurant with free WiFi. Steps away from stadium, ideal for a game. 3 minute walk. TVs in bar showing the match, good for those without tickets. Next to a large shopping centre for shops, bar and food court. Close to Metro Station, 5 minute walk. Negatives: No in room safe. Minimalistic room, no real comfort, cold unwelcoming feel. Wallpaper peeling in our room and our friend’s room. In room WiFi at additional charge, despite being free in the bar. There is nothing around here worth staying for except stadium. A dull hotel inside and out (except bar area). Dull hotel in an unattractive area but with great staff and ideal for the football stadium.
