The owners of Victoria House have done a great job of restoring the house to its former glory, but with the little touches of comfort that modern travelers have come to expect. Libby was very friendly and helpful without smothering us with OTT 'bon Ami'. The room had everything we needed, with a high-quality bed, and the visitor's lounge and open fire were particularly comfortable. Highly recommended.

Beautiful hotel

Amazingly beautiful hotel. Very historic, and more like a bnb then a hotel. Sherry and fruit bread in the parlor provided. Owner was very gracious. The garden was also open and delightful - went on a gnome hunt.

It was a lovely place but walking in and getting a funny look from another guest wasnt a great welcome. Really close to all shops, pubs and cafes. Beds were a bit old and spongy, but otherwise a nice space.

Quaint 1853 property, recently revamped with original features. As described, this is a property with character, friendly owner, lounge area with log fire and access to a garden. Offered fruit cake and Port / Sherry upon arrival. Would recommend staying here.
